Successfully Own Only One?

i dont intend to own only one, i have a few planned already. i have to many ideas and it would be a mess if i tried to put them all into one doll.

 

Heh heh, I'm in much the situation! My first doll (SOOM Kanoa) is a 21st birthday present from my mum and step-dad, took a fair amount of convincing although I thought I'd have to convince them a whole lot more than I did in the end!
He arrived at their house on Monday and they want to bring him up to give him to me, but now they keep putting off the 4-5hour journey from Brighton to Liverpool. xD
I don;t blame them but I'm so desperate to open him now! He's traveling first class on a Virgin Express train on Monday now with a friend of the family who works for them. Yahoo. lol

But no.. Like everyone else.. I have been bitten by the bug, I sort of have my eye on a second one but I have a fair amount of saving to do around the rent and food shopping.

 

I am glad I didn't succeed at having only one. xD

 

Haha, I TRIED as hard as I could to just get one....
but damn, why are there so many pretty dolls in the world? X_X
So currently I have an SD, an MSD and 2 heads D:
-headpalms on lack of self-control-

 

I wanted to only have one, but it didn't work out so well.

And once you have one, you can say to yourself "Oh well, if I get another of the same size/gender they can share clothing and wigs and so forth." I wound up with 5 SD sized boys that way. And then I branched out into tinies and minis.

 

i've been telling myself that I would not buy a second BJD because it cost too much just to have one. And yet, one month after I swore I would only have one...I bought another. heh.
I did have only 1 for a year though so that's something.

 

I don't really have the desire/money for more than one.

If I ever get one, she has some plushies and a Rikku figure to keep her company.

Plus I'd feel bad about favouritism between multiple dollehs.


Though someday I may consider getting one of those tiny little gals. :P

No, I wasn't successful. I swore that I ONLY wanted one (an Elfdoll Sooah - Carmilla). But she looked SO lonely even though she was spoiled rotten. Had her for about a month when I HAD to have a boyfriend for her. Bought a Migidoll Ryu head, but he had no body. Bought a Soom Super Gem Spinel...just for the body. I SWORE I'd be selling the head. BAM! Fell in love with this guy, kept him (Jude). Still no body for the Ryu, but now started thinking that Spinels looks older and that's what my girl needs.

Then I was a friend's house and we had my Spinel do the photo session bit with some of her girls. Instantly fell in love with the way he looked with a Luts SDF Annette (and I loved how she posed and that she could actually wear shoes that weren't specially made to fit sasquatch feet and jeans specially made for a badonka butt). Needless to say, she came to live with me (October) and is now involved with Jude.

Ryu still needs a body, but now I'm thinking he needs a younger looking girl to be with (Luts SDF Blanchet will fit that bill nicely) and the SDF body will work for Ryu. But now that leaves Milla with no man....Soom Lazule is calling her name. And wait! What about little siblings?!? Again, Luts Kid Delfs look good and you can't have one little girl/boy without them having at least one friend each.

So, nope. Can't say I was successful with my ONLY one!

Oh I do hope it's possible to have only one! I grew up with only one of everything significant to me--one parent, one sibling, one pet, one best friend, etc. It makes sense in my head to only have one of something that you're really bonded to. Now I've got one husband, and while I do have two kids, I only have one son and one daughter. So the pattern's intact. But there's a crack in my armor. My first BJD will be a little girl. But in spite of my strong resolve, it's possible that she will eventually start begging for a little brother......

 

I plan on getting 4.
Two girls
Two boys.
I would feel guilty if i had only one haha!

to make them as couple.. yea..
I think the fact that prevent you owning only one is that companies constantly have new and stunning dolls and just kills us... and robs our $$$$
anyways, I am getting accessories stuff for my doll.

 

Like everyone else, I planned to only have one. Clearly, that is not going to be the case.

Blisdon (DOI Luke) was supposed to be the only one, but then I had to have a Soom Sard, so that was quickly laid to rest. And it's a good thing too, because once Blisdon got here he quickly became a rather iconic figure for me, but I knew he couldn't possibly embody EVERY principal I believed existed, he could only be certain things. For that, there would be other dolls.

I still don't want to be that girl that has 20 dolls, or even 10, not that there's anything wrong with it, I just don't know what I could possibly do with all of them. However, right now it's looking like it might end up being at least 4-5.

 

I posted a while back that I would be happy to just own my one boy, unless some doll came out I could not resist.

well that happened, I fell hard for iplehouse's Tatiana, so I bought her. so I am no longer a ONE-doll owner.

 

My flat is so damn tiny I don't have space for more than one MSD so I'm pretty much forced into being a one-doll woman.

Fortunately I only really love the mature male sculpts and there aren't many of those at mini-size.

 

Like a lot of other people on here, I just planned on having one (Souldoll Hye), and I suceeded for a few months.
However, I ran in SOOM's website in June and saw Sard.. That was it for me.
THEN running around this forum, I found the Tiny section and found Bambicrony and Fairyland. I ended up ordering a Pukipuki Pipi....
My husband keeps asking me if/ when I'll want to order another, and I'm hoping that I wont... I mean, now I have a female, and I'm waiting on a male and a tiny. Perfect for all the photo shoots I can think of

Haha, I only own one for now, and planned to only buy myself one (like everyone else!). XD However, once you have one, you feel like they might be lonely... and then there's the genders, there's a difference between owning a boy and owning a girl, you need AT LEAST one of each!

So needless to say, I'm saving for a 1/4 DZ boy right now.

 

i didn't even get my first doll yet...but i have no plans to keep it to only 1. i know i'm going to keep wanting more, lol.
