It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Successfully Own Only One?

Jan 1, 2008

    1. I don't want to offend my little resin family or anything... but I think someday I might just send my three precious dolls to a new home, and get the U-Noa Sist that I have always wanted. I feel guilty that I don't give the dolls I have enough love. One doll would better suit me and my busy life right now.

    2. Err... Hmm. I'm planning on owning only one. I've bought my "dream doll" (first BJD I've ever paid extreme attention to and fell in love with the sculpt...) of sorts, after saving up my pennies for a couple of months, and I really can't see myself doing the same thing for any other sculpt out there - especially since after this boy, the next ones on my list are SD-sized and larger, and therefore more expensive.

I've bought my boy a pair of glass eyes, a wig, shoes, and an outfit, all totaling to over $500... with a few more outfits/wigs/eyes in planning. So yeah, I don't think I'd buy another doll, unless I magically became 1 million dollars richer overnight. In that case, we'll see.

    3. I have only one at the moment but as soon as i became friends with her she needed another friend and now her friends gonna need a buddy too and i am starting to see where this is going to go :sweat(and my doll just hit her head on the desk lo i think she agrees)

Pretty sure my parents are hoping they are not going to end up with the horse models starting with one cheap one then lots of cheap ones them more expensive ones and limited addition ones etc. (i have about 300 of them) I on the other hand hope i build up quite a collection maybe 8 in the near future but doubt it will stop there i don't even want to think what will happen when i get a real job and can fund my dolly escapades through my piggy bank lol

    4. It is a little difficult to refrain from buying more than one BJD, what with their stunning beauty and all, but in all honesty the prices keep me away from ever having more than one, lol.

However...I have been contemplating a second one, as a companion for my boy, but I am absolutely positive that I would be unable to fully love anymore than that. It's like a parent having a bunch of children--it's difficult to baby one when you have about seven other mouths to feed (so to speak). In a nut-shell: I simply cannot afford to keep more than what I have *is poor*...

    5. At first i thought only one aswell.
But as new molds came out my wishlist has expanded and if I dont complete my wishlist i Will be very depressed.
I think the best feeling is looking forward to your next doll.
its great when you have one.
But the feeling when a certain mold strikes you
and saving up for it then having it in your room is more fun.

    6. I only have one doll, and I think I'm going to keep it that way. I've been through 10 to 12 (I'd have to look up the exact number) of varying size, type, and gender. SDs, MSDs, tinies, a few anthros... well, in the end none of them were exactly what I wanted, so they were all sold. -.-
The one I have ended up with, a MSD sized Camellia Dynasty Abracadabra, is by no means my dream doll. He's cute, but not really beautiful like some BJDs. But, I don't think I'd really be happier with a different doll if I sold him, so...

I do have a Minimee Kingdom Hearts Riku head that should show up from DIM in a few months, but I really don't feel one way or another about that. I might just put him on a Likemey bust. On the one hand, I know I feel right now that having a Riku Minimee is gonna be so cool. X3 I really want to buy him an organization XIII coat and a blindfold.
But, knowing from experience, as soon as I stop fangirling over the Kingdom Hearts game, I'd fall out of love with the idea of having the favorite character in doll form. XP. As evidence, I can look back and see this happened with my previous character dolls Zack, Cloud, Chibi Ed, and Pride...

So, really, I think I'm gonna give up. This hobby is so expensive, and to not find the doll I want after 2 years and 12 dolls is just way too much of a hint that it's time to look for something else. Yeah.

      ^^;

    7. Yeah I started out with one doll, Tohaku(AR Cien boy kit). He was such a beautiful boy and I fell for him. During the waiting process I had to get him a sister. Course later I found out I didn't like the mold and just ended up with Tohaku as the only one again. Then I brought his girlfriend, Kaimei(MNF Shushu Vamp) home and thought it'd be it. About two years later, I've got those two, Seth(Nanuri 07) and Ciera, whom I'm selling to bring my two other girls home. So yeah, they're addictive. I thought I could be fine with a few, but I'm weak. :sweat At least there are only about 3 dolls on my wishlist now that I want...after that, who knows.

    8. I only have one because I have only had money to BUY one.
Trust me, there will be more. :)

    9. Ahahaha nope! Originally I only wanted one because I just wanted something I can hug and play with  but now plans have changed, I've decided to dollify my main characters. I've chosen only 4 characters, 3 down, 1 more to go >:3 I hope it stays 4!

    10. Ive been through varying amounts of dolls from 2-6, im now though considering having only one just for the simple fact i dont have enough money to spoil all of then but could easily spoil just the one. Getting more sensible as i get older i guess:)

    11. Right now, I'm thinking of not purchasing another doll, even if there are some molds I really love.
I love my girl and I love to spoil her and I'm short of money because of that^^
If I had to spoil more than one doll... sounds impossible to me.:doh

    12. I have one on the way and plan to get only one more. They are really just so expensive I couldn't really justify buying more than that. >_<

    13. Well I notice the thread starter is saving for another doll in there sig, so I guess that didnt work out. I got so sick of waiting for my first doll that I ordered another one, now I'm waiting for 2 dolls >.<

    14. :sweat ok well... I was wrong. I ended up going to the NYC Dolpa and got a school head which I fell in love with and now am looking for a body for her.
I did manage to sell my poor puki who was being neglected so i was back down to 3 for a bit but once I find that bod for my Volks school B I'll be back up to four and she'll be my first official SD (two MSDs and one Tiny are what I have currently).

    15. One of my big deciding factors for the size of my doll group is simply this: I'm only fifteen and I have to save for college. I can have expensive hobbies (much much) later!
Also, I think my parents would flip if I had a bunch of dolls o_o; And no money for a car or anything. But that's alright, because I really only want one doll n_n The doll I'm getting is based off of my main OC (who I've had for three years), so I'm extremely attached to his character and I can't imagine being able to give another doll even half the amount of attention I plan to give him O.o; Besides, I want to spoil him! :) Maybe later on I'll get one more doll based off of his boyfriend so he's not lonely... P: But that's a big maybe X3 I'd rather have one doll I love a bunch than two I can't give equal attention.

One doll is enough for me~! :sweat

    16. I'm going to say two is enough for me. Although I'd be lying if I said I only have one doll since I already own two 1/6 dolls with optional parts plus the MDD I just recieved. I wanted one anime style proper BJD which I now have and one full sized 'realistic' dollfie. I am going to bide my time on the realistic one though as I am now officially skint!

    17. I tried this and failed miserably. I loved only carrying Suni around, as one is easier to show off and love, but then I went to doll metts and saw the catalogue of what was to come.......................;)

    18. Now, i only have one boy.I feel sooo lucky that i could got him...he is my first love>//<
I purchase lots of clothes and wigs for him.
i am seriously considering get another one, so my boy won't feel lonely at home..XD

    19. It seems strange to think of a chorus of BJDs, especially since I haven't bought ONE yet. I still haven't decided which one he'll be--I like Rio, but I really wish the Unidoll guys had a chest joint..sigh..

Anyway, I do intend to keep it to just one for the immediate future--after all, even one is an investment. But I think I can keep it to one Sybarite too..we'll see..

    20. Before I received my first doll, I was already planning on buying a Shiwoo. =P
But once I got her, she was enough and I figured I'd rather spend the money on her than on another doll.
But now I find myself wanting Shiwoo again... :/
