Successfully Own Only One?

i think i'm gonna get two: either a couple or sisters. i already know one for sure, but i'm not even done saving for her yet, soo....

 

Ah, I thought the very same thing a few years ago. I went for a Volks Kohaku thinking I would spoil him to death. Then felt bad he was all alone so I got his nanny, Omi (Volks Dollfie Dream) 6 months later.

I am up to 7 now. After 4 I started doing my Doll Soap Opera on DA, had to do something with them. Now I am really into it! It's so much fun!

I really want another, I have his old outfit planned and every thing... but I'm scared of spending money. xDD So it probably won't happen, even though I say it will. xD The only reason I bought Kayl was because I found a store offline, and I thought, "This is my only chance. I will buy him. D<" So I did. xD; But I don't think I'll ever actually get the other, even if I run in to another store offline. xD;

 

I have one full doll and no serious desire for more.
There were also two floating heads (an event head and sleeping head) that came with her, they may much later become something, but at the moment, they're my practice heads for painting and modding, respectively.
I'd like to get a boy doll though, but that may be in a year, and I have list of other dolls, but again, there's no serious draw to run out and get more.

Edit: A full year later, I did get my boy, albeit a bit bigger than I was originally planning, but it's all good. I still consider myself a MSD-or-smaller-person as he's the only big one I feel comfy keeping.
I have to admit, having a second doll made a big change on my first doll's unstable character plans and gave me a stronger connection to both.

I'll add that while I still have other dolls I'd like to get and will probably get when I feel financially comfortable again (I'm in no peril, but in a position where the rotation of spending is more on some career-based equipment), but I won't die to not have more than my two.

And it's the fact that I had this freaky dream were everyone had a single doll with them, like if the doll was a part of them, and I got stuck with the idea that my future doll will me my "half" And you just can have a half.

 

I love this thread.I have one bjd at the moment,I do have other dolls like three blythes,momoko....but I must admit I don't like large doll collections!I had a dim doll benetia but when I ordered my dollstown I sold her right away.I would hate ending up in an oldpeoples home some day with 100 dolls yug!I really can relate to you in saying you only want one or two and spoil them rotten.I feel the same way!I have found my dreamdoll.Once I saw dollstown that was it for me.Seola is my dream doll and now I have her.Her name is Briony.xoxo
PS I hope I didn't hurt anyones feelings about owning a large doll collection,I really enjoy it when someone collects dolls don't get me wrong!But for me personally I don't really like having loads and loads of dolls in my home.

 

I plan on only having one, the one I'm currently saving up for, for a long period of time since they're so darn expensive and I'm going to be a poor college student soon. I'll probably get maybe one or two more sometime after college when I find a decent job. I think one is good enough for now anyway, but who knows. It's also hard to plan for buying multiple dolls since I'm also into expensive japanese fashion x-x

 

I don't have one yet and I know I will have more than one... I don't think I will have more than 5 though.

 

At first I swore "ONLY one, pick the one you want, Annette or Harin, and that's it". Now, I have four on my wishlist, plus I'm contemplating putting more up (my husband's going to think I'm crazy). Dolls are like Lays potato chips, "Betcha can't have just one".

 

I still have one. But me and my sister share this account so NOw we Both have ONE! I'm so happy, that there'll be two Dollies in the house now.

 

Ok, well I know with me, after I bought my first SD boy. I THOUGHT, it would be it, mostly because I didn't think I liked the girls. Well after that I bought my MSD girl "for him" Now I want an SD girl, and an MSD boy. We Will see how that goes.........

 

I tried to own only one...I thought that they were so expensive that one was enough and I wouldn't have enough love for any more.

Then I suddenly thought that I'd have enough love for two and thats it.

Then I wasn't sure how many I wanted...But I wanted to try and keep one, I wasn't going to let myself fall for another.

I just ordered my second....

I was also talking to my friend, and I ended up naming off like 4 more I wanted! (though I truely only wanted 2 XD)

Now, I dont think I could ever have 'just one' i'll probably end up with like 20 within the next 10 years (I hope not, though O.O)

 

Haha, no way have I thought of having only one.
I'm the type of person who says everyone needs friends, including resin dollies. How else would a doll know if their headcap makes them look fat?

 

man, i dont know how you guys do it. I owned one till i went to a convention for my birthday & spent 1,000 on 4 - which isnt that bad.
now im stuck with the bill ):

 

no way i dont even have ONE yet and im already plotting ways on how to get the money for tones of dolls (get your mind out of the gutter i ment things like robbing a bank! dir lol!)

Planning to get a SD too. But still in the process of saving!
I guess i will stick to Miki until i graduate and found a job. =)

 

I want a few more dolls and quite a few of the pipos dolls as well. Im planning to have a full house doll-wise. XD

 

I just recently got my first "official" one that I can talk about on this website-MNF Shushu!!! I love her, she is beautiful!!! I had an excellent experience with the purchase through Denver Doll Emporium in Colorado. I am such a huge BJD fan, I will definitely enjoy looking for more!!!

 

I owned one successfully for approximately a week and a half...

Then it all went downhill.. I just paid off another, my third, and I am ordering another one as we speak.. BUT ITS FOR SOMEONE ELSE... Who I got into the hobby!
