Successfully Own Only One?

I have one, i have had only 1 for a year iit has brought me closer to him and I could never sell him for the life of me. but resently I have been looking in to quiet a few, i like Eric to have a companion, and room mates

 

I originally wanted three: a Soom Super Gem, a Narae 43cm, and a Puki Pipi. But since I want to be an anthropologist (not sure want I'm going to do or end up) and taking into account my experiences when I had to evacuate for Katrina and Gustav, having three will be too much and too dangerous (crazy cousins plus grabby hands).
So I will just have my Super Gem Spinel because he was the size I fell in love with and always wanted a boy. Plus photostories are not really a necessity for me.

 

i don't even have my own/own one, but as of now, i'm already thinking of at least three dolls. and maybe that'll even change in the future.

back then, i was only dreaming of a DOD DOT Camine. until i found out that different doll molds and manufacturers existed. and of course, every month-year, we're bombarded with lots of other doll releases.

i don't think owning only one doll is impossible. it's just the matter of being dedicated---really dedicated---to owning one doll and wanting only one doll. but in the long run, it may seem rather tempting to get another one as well ^^;

 

Well, I've been unsuccessful. ^^; I originally only wanted one. Then after I ordered him, I began obsessivly looking at other doll sites and such and kept falling in love with more and more doll molds. My wishlist was past 10 at that point. Then I impulsivly bought a doll third-hand from a friend and he arrived before my original first boy! I fell so deeply in love with my impulse boy that until my dream boy came, I thought I'd be happy with just one...then my dream boy, DZ Yuu, came home and I thought I was fine with two. *sigh* Then I jumped into a MNM GO, planned for an OC to become a doll, and most recently (again impulsively) bought a girl from the marketplace here. *slaps self* If I weren't so impulsive I would be fine with just one...but I apparently have no self control. I'm quite jealous of those who do. However, the idea of having so many dolls frightens me, as I want to give all of them equal love...I hope my heart is big enough for all that come to live with me. ^^;

 

While I'll probably only have one doll for a while, I am definatly planning to have a bunch. Having just one seems lonely.

 

I'll probably only have two; three, at the most. I don't plan to ever do photo stories with BJDs -- I don't think I'll have the patience, funds, or resources to build SD-sized dioramas and rooms, so there wouldn't have many set choices.

For now, it's looking like I'll succeed in this. The only doll I've truly wanted was DoD's Shall. And it's been almost three years since my initial discovery of BJDs!

 

Well, I had only one, a bobobie Weylin boy, and I spoiled him to death! But I really really wanted to get him a girlfriend, he looked so lonely. So I'm in the process of getting a B&G Rin on a girl body, as I LOVE the Rin face but wanted a girl. Thus, I will have two very soon. But that is probably all I will have. I don't want too many as I won't be able to give them the attention they deserve.

 

I don't have any yet, but I've just started saving for my first. I intend for her to be my only, but she's not really a character, she's more like a little muse, so having several of the same head with different face-ups, and different wigs and eyes and all is something I'm planning for. So she'll be like several dolls in one, changing when my need for inspiration strikes.

 

I think we should make a poll regarding this, because it looks to me like it's almost impossible to successfully own only one. Even I own 4 .. well, two are disembodied. And there was a time I never ever ever would have perceived that I'd own any ... Of course that was many years ago. Still- with the first came the desire for the others!

I don't actually own a BJD yet, however I'm pretending I don't have plans to get two more after my first xD

 

I've officially broken that vow. I'm buying a DIM sergei after Christmas (with my christmas monies and stuff I've saved up from baby-sitting)

I currently have only one BJD - a Lati Yellow Lumi. I'll be ordering a Green with this next order period, and have my eye on several other dolly types. ^^;

I'll aim for no more than 5, but I can't even say that'll be enough.

 

No, not just one. I had planned only two all along. A girl and a boy. I like the more mature sculpts, which seem to be less popular so double edged sword, though I can appreciate the others, I don't want them. We'll see how long it lasts!

 

Ah, so that's her fate! I was wondering!

I was hoping to only have one. But then I remembered my girl had a pet of sorts. More than a pet, less than a familiar. So now I have an incoming MNF Shiwoo girl and a Pukisha.

Reeeeally hoping I can stick with two...

 

LOL I thought I`d be content with just one ... ended up having two! Right now I`m completely happy, but I do plan buying a girl sometime in the future!

 

The concept I have for my dolls is to recreate my characters and people I know so...

yeah. having just the one of my favorite character .. could work.. but the concept would fail.

 

erm I'm currently saving for my first bjd doll, tho I have other doll collections, and I don't plan to have just one or just 10. I'm an artist and a writer and until I came across bjds I never could get a doll that I could use as my characters. So I planned to have alot. At first, just 9, cuz 9s my number but now 18..cuz I saw a 10th one..then an 11th one..then a 12th one, etc hmm. So I got alot of saving to do. But I think it'll be a life long love, obession, and hobby. I don't see anything wrong with having more then one and spending money on them. The money I save per month for a doll is the same if not less then what people spend every month in liquor and cigarettes. My hobby won't kill me ...unless...the dolls do..hmm.

 

right now i only have one doll but i intend to at least have 4. (once i get some money..and a job)
