1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Successfully Own Only One?

Jan 1, 2008

    1. I've ordered my first- and I think she'll be my only. However, my boyfriend is thinking that when we move in together in the future, he might get a boyfriend for my MSD X3 That or Tender E-an...or a Shall XDD

      So yes- I've only got one..in about 5-6 weeks!

    2. I`m sort-of successful... Kinda. xD
      I got my boy back in January though, so I don`t really know if that counts.
      But as of now, I`m really not wanting any more dolls. I`ve had fleeting 'Preeety~!' moments, but none have ever stayed like his did.

      I`ll let you know in a year or two if I have anymore. :P

    3. I got my first one and then within a month I had puchased another... then I got 3 more in the next 8 months or so... this was all back in 2006... after bonding and not bonding, buying and selling... Im now down to four... and saving for a fifth...

      I knew I couldnt stop at just one.

    4. I just ordered my first. She won't be here for 5-6 months. In the meantime, I'm definitely looking for another and hope that I will stop at 2...for awhile! I own a leather design company and my staff is all interested in bjd's, so we will be creating leather wear for bjd's as an offshoot and something fun to "play" with. My right hand man is also a costumer for the local theatres, so she is especially looking forward to creating costumes for bjd's. Hooray! Gives me an excellent excuse to own more than one!

    5. Hiya!! Am new here. I'm interested in dolls, but don't own one yet. Don't know what to get yet, actually. And trying to save money for my first doll. Anyway, anyone can offer me what to buy? Thanks in advance.

    6. I'm new here too, so I'm no expert, for sure! I must tell you though, I spent 4 months researching, had my mind set on a boy, was saving up, and got totally blown away by a GIRL-threw the budget out the window and plopped down the cash with a racing heart. I kept reading that "you will know" when you see yours. I did, but I looked at thousands of them before I was struck by lightening!

    7. At first i told myself i will just buy one, then later after keep searching and looking at other people's dolls and it changed my mind to 2, since i thought my little girl needs a little sister to play with, haha

    8. At first I was dead set on only owning one, but its so addictive! I can't help but look for more of them. But I do plan on keeping my family small.

    9. When i got my girl... i was like... she is the only one i want that way everything i buy is for her, then i planned out other characters. (i ended up selling my obitsu and abio angel) i thought i would only get one as well...
      i ended up getting a puki to take her everywhere i went (since shes so small)....then i found some boys i liked ... so i got em.. altogether i have 5... which i hope.. i wont be getting anymore.

    10. When I first got my girl I was absolutely sure that one would be enough... that illusion didn't last long... now, a year later, I have two and three on the way. ^^;

    11. I got my first one a few days ago .......that did it ...I ordered my second already LOL

    12. OK-I am still waiting for my first, and already ordered a second. I have a feeling I will be hopeless, but maybe I can stop at 2...??? For a couple of months...????

    13. I didn't even try. The idea of owning just one was nice, who wouldn't want to spoil it to death? But I wanted even my one to have a friend, and now I'm waiting for a third ^^;

    14. One whole year and four months later, there is only one BJD sitting in my house, with a set of wigs, clothes, and other little things. XD It is true you can buy only one and spoil them senselessly.

      I do look at other dolls, but, they just never said "BUY ME!" like & did. XD And I guess it's good for my wallet that he absolutely doesn't want friends. >>;

    15. I stopped being successful about owning only one when I had a head floating around....:sweat . Not that I had planned on having only one but, I definately will not buy more than ten... maybe...:>.>

    16. I am really a one-doll type person. I have one girl, my Dolkot Leaf. She's the only girl I've ever really liked, and while I see other dolls who's looks I really love, she is the only one I just couldn't resist. I can't imagine possibly having more than a couple of dolls. They cost so much and I feel like even if I could afford a multitude, I would prefer to bond closely with and spoil one or two.

    17. i just bought my first doll. and reading this thread im getting scared. i wanted a 70 cm, cuz i like big things but i've ended up to buy a 60cm because his pretty face captured me.
      i would say "i'll keep only one, because they are pretty expensive, and why i should need more than one etc, but what if a 70 cm or more big size with a pretty face that suits my tastes comes out? <.< hmhmhmm

    18. I don't really belong here I guess but I just bought my first doll. I'm going to see how long I can go having just one doll but for now I'm going to try to keep it at one doll. Heh. XD

    19. I know I posted before, but - though I know, eventually, I will have 2 - my parents aren't gonna let me go for something more expensive than the $150 RS Mei I'm currently saving for. However, if I had my way, I would feel comfortable going for something that was, at most, $500. There are a lot of dolls around that price that look wonderful.

    20. I successfully owned just one for a year without 'craving' another doll.... then the hormones kicked in (I was pregnant at the time) and the crazy turned on and the next thing I knew I had two new dolls.
