1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Successfully Own Only One?

Jan 1, 2008

    1. I see the situation you are in XD you're first. I as a bit liek that i didn't see the point in having mroe than one but after my boy I was hooked XD I now have a girl, 1 coming for christmas(27cm otheres are SD) and possibly another(about 10cm)

    2. I have one right now, but I'm the kind of person who thinks "If it's worth doing, its worth doing it right. And if it's worth doing it right, then it's worth doing it COMPLETELY OVER THE TOP!!" :fangirl:

So I have 7 more all planned out that I'm saving up for, and since I hope to write/draw a comic book about them, I'll probably end up with 11-14 little resin kids :sweat

While thats still alot less than some people have, it sure is a lot more than 1 :aheartbea

    3. Just call me "Octo-Mom". One just wasn't enough.

    4. I had originally thought I was only getting one...and then Yoru started giving me these looks... >.> Now our first family is almost complete and I'm saving for the next one. My list of potential dolls has reached fourteen.

But, I also think that if you're fine with one, and that's all you really want, there's nothing wrong with that, either. I think a lot of people think they need to have a lot of dolls to keep up with some of the others in the community who have a lot. =/ The quantity isn't so important as how much you love what you have. If you only end up with one doll and love it to bits, then that's all that matters.

    5. Nopes, I'm getting my first soon and seriously, i doubt i'll stop at one. A boy for her, then their companions... i'll be lucky if i stop at 6 >.<

But that said, why not one? ...doable, but tough...

    6. Hiro, my first, has been at home with me for a month and I just love him. I don't think he's lonely because he watches dvds with us. But, when I placed my order, I requested his head on a girl body and ended up with a boy. So I kept him. In the meantime, I made some girl clothes.

Now I need a girl doll. I *could* put Hiro in the girl clothes, but he'd be mortified. ;-D So originally, I wanted only 1 dollie, but will end up with at least 2....

    7. I originally thought that I only wanted one and spoil the one I had.......but once it started, it's just too hard to keep at one only........I still spoil her though:)

    8. I also doubt I'll stop at one xD;
Although... I'm one of those people who once I see/have something in my hands do I truly decide the outcome of that.
Maybe I really will stop at just one, but already I've found myself surfing doll sites finding others that I just adore and would go so well with my boy on the way >< OTL

    9. My first purchase was two BJDs from Lati :sweat... so I think I already started into this hobby failing in have only one doll :|...

    10. I havnt even ordered my first (cant make up my mind!) but even with that i am planning on who will be my 2nd, should i get a itzy bitzy or MSD baby next & so on.

If u manage with only having one, you have serious skill ;D

    11. i only had my first girl SD13 nono for a year and thought i would only need her~
      LOL!
7 years later i have 9 dolls! but one is on her way out to a good home :3 so really 8! and i'm planing on 2 more this summer @_@!

    12. I though I could own only one, but now I own more than 8! :S

    13. I'm a little backwards, I always said I would own many dolls but have just ended up with one! In fact, I recently sold my first dolly to afford my incoming Delf. It wasn't that I didn't want them both, I just didn't have the $$$ to afford my dream dolly, so I had to make a decision to sell my other one. I think having just one really benefits the doll for me, because whenever I get a lump of cash I can drop it on wigs and clothes for just one doll, rather than constantly being to broke to afford new things for her while I pay off incoming dolls or save for dolls I want to get in the future. It's all about finances, and being a photographer and design junky I have to be realistic about how I distribute mine. Dolls are just one slice of the pie, so I haven't been able to have more than one doll at this point. Maybe in the future? Never say never. :)

    14. Before I got my first BJD, I'm like "Okay, i'm just gonna buy one and I'll be content.."

When I'm on the verge of getting one, I evolved to "Okay, I might need to get two instead cause he'll be lonely by himself.."

Now, after having two, my mind are seducing me with "Ohhh, you need more, more, MORE, MOAR~~~"

So yea, keeping only one is a total failure to me. *_* In fact, I never own only one BJD to begin with. :doh:doh

    15. I applaud anyone that can stop at one.

    16. I have only one doll for now. But I'll be getting her a boyfriend. :-)

    17. When I was like 13 and discovered BJD, I saw the price and said: I would like to have one... Just one!
Then, when I was sure I was going to buy a BJD, I didn't think about having only one...
My first doll is almost here and my minimum is 5 BJD (my favourite ones).
In a few years I could be buying more than that, but for now is "almost one and some day five" ^^

    18. I think anyone who can stop at 1 and be truly happy is awesome - but other people who are okay with limiting themselves are awesome too. I can't do just one, but a limited amount will probably suffice!

    19. I've ordered only one doll at the moment. I'd definitely like to own more if I can afford them, possibly five at most. :aheartbea

    20. I saw a BJD and wanted one! Then found the head/s I liked, couldn't decide and bought two. Then I had to look for two suitable bodies; during the hunt I fell in love with Dollstown girls... three heh heh. So I have 2 heads and plans for more.
