Successfully Own Only One?

I haven't gotten a doll yet, but my intention is to only have one. x'3 I wonder if I'll be able to do that...

 

I jus want one at this moment, but even that will take a while. So maybe if I win the lottery I would buy more, but at this moment I just want one.

 

I don't have only one of anything. Except a car. I only have one car. That's it.
Seriously though one is not an option for me, but for someone else, how nice for you. You must have space for say, your own stuff as opposed to doll crap on every surface in every room.
I said to my DH when we win the lottery I'll get a doll room but he said it wouldn't be long before they migrated all over the place. Guess he knows me pretty well, thank goodness his tolerance level is way up there!

 

I've had my 1 girl for about 4 months now. Still no intention of getting another one. I need the money to get her more clothes! Haha. Beside, BJD's are so customizable, having 1 is enough for me

 

One is not an option. Only having two though is a strong possibility. Unless something really changes my mind as a must have doll I don't think I'll ever have more than 3...

Same here. I think it'll only stay that way if my budget doesn't allow for a second doll.

 

I only have one doll and I can't see myself buying more. They're expensive, and while I do love dolls, I would rather spend a large sum of money on something else.

 

LOLLLLL !!! omg I like you already ,this is how I started to collect ldd...now from 1 it turned into owning 30! and then I bought Taeyang and I was like oh yeah I buy him to customize him so no more..and then I had no heart to do that ,searched for more and more and now I have 7 dolls!!! and still with every new one I say to myself NO MORE and naah I'm a failure when it comes to this lol.ANd now I want to buy Tender shall....and I love Delphine too (probably it's good that she's sold out becase I would have problem lol).
600$ for one doll is pretty much to me considering that in my counry 600 = 1500 PLN and that's pretty much! you can go for vacations for that lol
So I said to myself it will be harder for me to buy 2nd BJD if I won't spend any more $$ on dolls I will earn but I will do 'switch' = I will sell some of my collection of other dolls to buy Tender and it's really hard to part with anyone I have lol so that's make me kinda have no choice bu have only 1....at the moment ,I know I will fail probably tho .. :P
But some of you are right here ,probably it's better to find your grail doll and just spoil it with love and clothes :P

 

Well I intend to own at least four because I have four characters I want to have dolls for, also I want to eventually make small photostories. However, once I get my first doll, it will be a loooooong while before I get any more, as once the school year starts at my college, I will be in the process of moving into my own place. So I will *have* to live with just one doll for a while. But that's fine since I adore the sculpt I'm getting and I'll be able to spoil him with attention!

 

my friend only have one BJD and do not plan on having more. mostly because she doesnt have a job and she HATES saving xD

 

I've had one for a few months now, almost a year I think xP But now I'm saving up for my second xD Oh well. Lol.

 

Yeah... I tried to start just with one... Ended up adding another one to my order two days later. >_<
Addiction. I has it.
So now I'm planning on keeping the number at least below seven. Huge jump, I know, but I keep finding dolls I like.

 

I have one for now but I'll get my next doll as soon as my saving is ready.
Then I'll spoil both of them and may not buy more dolls until I find the right mold like I did when I saw DOD Calla.

 

I was doing good with just Everett, my MNF Karsh, in fact, I had only just received him when Souldoll just HAD to put up the limited edition Tarot - 0 - the Fool Lev. I refrained from participating in the event, but, months after, I couldn't stand it anymore and worked my butt off to buy my beautiful Kingsley from the market.

And even now I'm eying some of the 60cm dolls with a hankering. Dx Oh goodness, this is a unsatisfiable curse! Good luck to all you doll owners with just a single baby. It's hard to have just one!

 

Reading back in this thread I notice people who say, I'll only buy two because a brother and sister is enough, and then looking at their signature it's like, I think your definition of two has multiplied. XD

I never got into the hobby thinking I'd only ever own one. Sure, I wished I could, but after not getting my dream doll, and Lili in stead (who I still love very much) I knew I would have to get my dream doll at one point.
Though I did think I'd get more girls before considering boys.
Lili was alone for two months, until I ordered Zack, who is in fact a boy. Then barely five months later I bought a migidoll Owen from a friend on a short layaway, also a boy.
While waiting for Owen to get here (who still isn't here because life has been hectic) I ordered a puki pipi who will even the boy/girl thing out again.

I don't want to have just one, never will, I can never keep my attention to one thing for a longer period of time. I need distraction, an multiple dolls make me love them all equally because I get to spend time on different ones as well.

 

Oh man... I totally have four on order. I don't even have one here yet.

Soooo yeah no, nada on owning just one for me. LOL

 

well I have only one at the moment.. at first it kinda yea ill only have one.. he'll be enough n.n
but now after a couple of months and a couple of outfits, wigs, shoes, and eyes later I'm like... he's kinda lonely... I need to save up for him to have a bf lol XD

Im very picky with my doll tho.. I'll NEVER buy a doll that's not my "dream doll"/ or the doll I really like.. I'm still looking for a right 60-65cm mold ^^

sooo right now maybe I'll get 2 dolls lol XD

 

So I'm saving up for my first one, and I can guarantee he will not be my only one. Starting into this hobby I just knew I wouldn't be able to avoid getting more, because I love collecting art pieces that I can play with.

Not to mention my parents are total enablers. "Oh, you're only getting one? Won't he be lonely?"

 

I'm into multiple heads at the moment. I'll more than likely get some more dolls, right now I just have one doll and several heads/wigs/eyes. For me changing the head and wig etc gives you a different doll, but that's just me. I would like to get a male body and some male heads though. And eventually I want a pukifee. But for now I'm happy with one doll and many heads LOL.

 

I, like so many others, thought that I would only have one as well. To be honest I didn't really like most (or any, really) BJDs I had seen at the time, so when accidentally stumbling upon one that I loved I thought it would be easy to stick only with her. Now I have 3 tinies, a floating unoa head, and am debating a fourth tiny. I'm telling myself that once I have those 5 I'll be content. I hope that with those 5 I'll be content!
