Successfully Own Only One?

Whether only one or five, for sure I failed XD!

To buy just one, I think it is a tad boring for me and for the doll himself XD

I wanted to keep just three, but I got one doll which is my second choice on my favorite list. Next I bought one of my first choice head only (there's two of them on first place) but as OE instead of sleepy. Later I found I could preorder the sleepy version. Then came nyc dolpa where I got school head. Sometime later I got the second one I planned at first. Lastly, hopefully it is so, there came yosd that I had the greatest whim to get. Therefore my current doll count is 4 full dolls and 2 floating heads XD

Doll plans are made for breaking afterall?

 

at first i wanted just one,but then i found bjdcollecesty and found tons of companies and dolls i wanted!^__^

 

I have two since one is a bit of a lonely number at times ...

Any more then that is too much

 

I applaud people who can actually own only one. When I decided to do character dolls, there was no way I could stop with one, since each character has a partner or another character that's important to them.

 

Umm. Well, I never really intended to have just one, but I did intend to stop at a very reasonable two -- just the couple from a story I had written. That seems not to have worked, given that I have three of my own, with another one (or two -- I like to have couples, makes them seem less lonely) in planning. And then there's the fact that my husband is now interested in one...

Really, I should not be surprised by this. I can't seem to collect anything in small quantities, why should BJDs be any different?

 

I have only one and she's the one and only... Literally.. ^^ Maybe this would seem odd to some of you but the true purpose of my lovely Mei Lin sitting on my shelf and watching me all the time is for me to admire her as a doll, as an artwork.. The bjd as an invention is such a wonderful thing - the material (resin looks better than porcelain in my opinion), her amazing ability to pose, proportios and her enchanting face are for me as a photographer and artist something.. wow. I'm not saying any doll could do, I just think there wouldn't be much point for me to have more of them..

 

I can't remember if I posted in this discussion before, but if I did I would like to amend my post to say: hahahahahahahahaha! I lasted 3 freakin' months before I got my second. And honestly, I knew after the first month I wanted another. Now I am certain of which one will be the third. So there you go - they're like delicious salty potato chips, you can never have just one.

 

I have only one right now and only one is enough was my idea,
so I'm trying really hard to fight to desire of getting him a lover at the moment..........><
But yeah...two is the limit for me....I think? -_-bbbb *looks away

 

It's the sculpts that lured me into this madness to begin with, so I'm sure I'll go beyond one. Heck I already have a short list of three first market dolls I want with a big wish list for a Bishonen House doll someday. I'm hoping that geting the first or second can tide me over for a spell while I can build up a fund. I can already tell IH and SoulDoll will be my nemeses.

 

I had only one doll for a little over 5 years, actually.

Over time, I started to feel like she was lonely because she didn't have any other doll friends. Then my brothers and friends started to pick up little miniature cat things for her which, while adorable, made her start to look like a crazy cat lady doll. I decided I couldn't really have that. She now has a hubby doll and twin daughters, and soon "cousins" as my mom has taken to calling them will be arriving to keep her company, too.

...now the little cat things get more attention because all the dolls presently at home can hold a kitty. It looked insane when all of them were all over the one doll. XD

I think it's hard to have just one. Like ericulf said, it's boring for the doll, too. XD Unless he/she has cats I guess....lots and lots of cats. o_O;; (Still not sure why my friends tried to turn my doll into a crazy cat lady.)

 

I have one for now. It'll be a year in January since I got him. I want to get another one, though. He just looks so lonely. I wanted him to have a girlfriend, but he might end up with a boyfriend. I don't know yet.

 

LOL I had planned on getting only one, and I don't actually own one just yet... but I already have four different boys planned out to buy! D: 3

 

I intend to have many little Off-topic obitsus, for group dynamics and photostories, but only one resin dolly. ^__^ BUT I CANNAWT DEICDE MAH GENDER! (For the doll)

 

I'm one of those who planned on getting only one, and then I couldn't just have one xD The reason I didn't get more sooner is because the doll I wanted after my first was so expensive it took forever to build up the money.

 

The only way I will be successful is if I run out of money to spend. I'm currently paying off my first but there are a couple more that I want.

 

Only one her, havnt had her for even half a year and already wanting more~ but thinking i should take it easy.... unless Iplehouse makes basic eva....

I've only owned one doll, and was a little bit more careful in picking him to be my "one" he had to be androgynous enough to pass as either sex for the outfits i planed for him.
Apart from spoiling him to the brink of my pockets extinction, I've enjoyed making people think he is a girl too!
My brother always ask why i make him dress like a girl though -_-

 

Oh how I wish I could say yes....I had one for 3 months and she looked lonely so I bought her a friend. They are always posing together and look so right.Over a year later I thought, I only need ONE. I was quite firm and placed the second one on Ebay.

I ended the auction early over doubts but then put her back on as I was convinced I was doing the right thing. My husband said to me last night and I quote " I never thought i would say this, but your Bjd looks very lonely without it's friend"

That was it... I ended the auction again!! Two is the right number for me, they look great together.

 

I have one doll and will only ever have one doll!
Hopefully, I mean the temptation is there, but the truth is my ultimate mission is to completely perfect my one and only lovely doll.
I only want to have the nicest parts and clothes for him, he's already made up of three different doll company parts and I hope to make it four eventually! Though because of this I love him more but am also way more paranoid/scared of anything happening to him.
