Successfully Own Only One?

I knew I would have more than one. I just like having more than one doll, no matter what the type is. I considered only keeping my NiNi but I want my 2 other girls as well. I'm not sure if I'll stop at 3 because I may oneday get a Tiny but for now I'm just going to concentrate on finishing my 3 MSD girls.

I wanted to add that like someone else said, I don't think I could ever go above 5 dolls. I find after that I ignore some completely and just play with my favourites. It also means I have to think carefully about who to get and who to keep when one I want pops up. Limits are healthy too!

 

I have only one BJD that I've bought last year. I love this mold most of all and luckily it wasn't limited or smth like that. I wish to have two BJDs, but the second one I want is of limited collection that was sold out long ago, so I dunno where can I buy it x)) Maybe another interesting mold will appear and own my heart xD

 

At first I thought I would be totally fine with one.

...That was a hasty assumption. xD I have at least three that I'm planning to buy, and a lot more on my wishlist!

 

I had only one Ball Jointed Doll and I'm selling it to buy another one when I'll have any money. I think that I would not have more than 2 BJDs at home, I'm afraid that it would be less exclusivity with a bigger resiner family, they would be more commonplace.

 

I haven't had my girl very long (only two weeks ), but I can see myself having only her for a considerable amount of time.

I've promised myself not to get anymore dolls until she is "complete," which in my mind includes having a set of clothes, a faceup done by me, new eyes, is sueded, and on and on. Because a lot of these things are expensive, (especially faceups the price of supplies) it's going to be a little while not only until I can afford them, but until I can get around to doing them.

After I finish her, it might be a bit different, because a lot of the supplies are things you only need to buy once (or buy once and refresh when it runs out), so there won't be as much slowing me down from acquiring more dolls. But I can't see myself being "done" with her, to my satisfaction, for at least two or three years, so I'll worry about that when I get there.

 

I only have one doll and I don't think I will be getting any more. I bought him before I left to college and I didn't bring him with me. And so I've lost interest in my boy, due to being so busy with school. I think due to this, I only want that one that I have. I need to spend more time with my one and plus it's to expensive of a hobby for me. I just want to spoil this one that I have right now. ahah

 

I wish I could say that I only have one doll because I have the desire and self control. Truth is, if I weren't unemployed and broke, I'd be saving for more.

i had one doll for a while and after the newness of him wore off i was really bored with him. i still liked him but didn't have alot to do with him. after i got another doll the hobby became much more fun for me and i enjoyed both my first doll and my second all the more because i could pose them together.

 

I only have one doll. and I'm proud of it. All my time spend on this hobby goes to him and it's like I have a special 'friend' who I can give my attention too. It's like having that one favorite teddy bear that will scare out the hell of you when you lose it. I just stick to one doll for now!

 

Only owning one is a challenge, i haven't gotten my first BJD yet or ordered her but i think when i get her i'm going to be like. "You need some friends!" Lol. I wil not be able to just keep one, maybe about 5/6 i'll stop collecting them.

 

I don't know if I could own only one, heh. I just adopted a Lati Green friend/sister for my Lati Green I currently own, lol. I don't ever want to feel overwhelmed by my dolls, though so I probably won't have more than 5 *crosses fingers*

 

I can tell you right now, one doll is impossible. It worked for me for several years and I was so proud of myself. However, he now has two friends on the way. With all the companys doing discounts and events, and many companys now allowing layaway it's hard to resist. Now I just need to make more room in my house.

 

To have only one is to not collect dolls. A collection is two or more. So if you're a collector you have multiples. I am a doll collector and am way past one or two. BJDs are new to me, past 4-5 years but I've collected dolls for a very long time. I began with the porcelains and Barbies and now collect these dolls.

I find that I play with BJDs whereas the others just sat still. I sold most of my fashion doll collection, and have given many porcelain dolls away. Don't miss any of them at all. I have kept every BJD and love them all. I have all sizes and think that's the nice part about these dolls. The come in many sizes, colors, and are very easily customized to be your own original looking doll.

 

I am considering going back to having just one doll, and sticking with it. I have been in the BJD hobby for less than a year - my first and favorite doll (D.I.M. Bellosse) arrived this past May. Since then, three others have come and quickly gone because once they were there in front of me, I just didn't like them as much as my first. Honestly, I think my main reason for wanting more was simply to have more bodies to display all the pretty clothes on! Right now I have one other complete doll, and another blank head. I think I may send them the way the others have gone, and just focus on my one special/favorite girl. Though there are a few other sculpts that I love looking at owner photos of, I have a feeling they could never top how much I like my Bellosse, so for now I will just have to be satisfied looking at other people's photos. I understand other people's desire to have more than one, but I just don't think it's for me...

 

I only have one and have no plans to get another. It's certainly doable.

Currently I have one doll, but I entered this hobby thinking that I wanted two. I have decided that I only want two big dolls (maybe a third if I get a body for my floating head *sigh*) and maybe a tiny, because they are so cute :]

 

At the moment, yes. I'm thinking about purchasing three more though .
