1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Successfully Own Only One?

Jan 1, 2008

    1. Interesting question! I'm only at the beginning stages of researching which company's dolls I love and which ones will I buy? I am pretty sure I won't just get one!

    2. Again, I am still stuck with one. I have been wanting to get another...but I am so undecisive that I eventually lose interest in buying another one.

    3. I have only one, and I've had him for about three years or so. However, I have plans for about three more lined up... ^^; Though the first of three's due in about three more years. :D

    4. Haha, true that! I'm the same. I get so indecisive on which ones to get, that I eventually lose interest. It's taken me 2 years to get my first one! Lol!

    5. Took me five years of researching (from early teens) and still couldn't decide which one to buy as couldn't afford them. Though as soon as I went to Japan I bought my doll (souldoll irene) straight away without second thought 0_0 and glad I did too coz shes sooooo pretty!

    6. I currently only have one. But then again, I'm quite new in this hobby. I have had her for about 8 months now, I don't consider it much at all since I have so little time for her. In the beginning I was planning to have one spoled girl too. But now, my plan is to stay at one as long as I'm not able to sew her as pretty clothes as I'd like to. Then - God knows what will happen. I think I'll try not to exceed a one-digit number >u<

    7. Yes. Only because I am broke. LOL

    8. I am thinking dolls are like chips and ferrets (ferret math... I swore I would only get 2... I now have 4)... and even if you think you only want one... you always end up with more than what you originally wanted. I only have one doll at the moment.... but there is a spare head in a box waiting for a body and my hand itches every time I see a certain e-bay listing... so God knows what will happen.

    9. My original plan was to have just one doll to play with. The day she arrived and I got my first look at her my second thought was "She needs a friend". (My first was that she was so beautiful!)

      The day I ordered him I realized that I was too afraid to mess them up while experimenting, so I bout a BBB sprite to help me through it all. Then I realized that once the experiments are done and she gets to be herself that she'll be lonely and she needs company too. I'm currently saving up for her older brother!

    10. OOh I have a ferrett too :) but he is plenty responsibility. I got one girl but she was a bobobie tiny and not enough after many months went by. Now I have an SD girl and I am content. I truly believe I wont get more or if I do I will only use the money I get from selling her. Ive invested a specific amount in this hobby and Im not interested in investing more. However, I have started making my own out of clay and so maybe that satisfies my apetite.

    11. HAHAHAHAHA THAT'S SO FUNNY? JUST ONE? I'm trying to keep myself at "just five" which will turn into "just six" or "just twenty two"

    12. I never set a goal on how many JUST to have. I assume that I will be done when I'm done whether because of financial reasons or just losing interest in the hobby... but right now, I can say that I love the hobby and I love my dolls. Yes. Dolls. I had one for 2 years because of financial reasons. I've recently purchased a second even though he was not the one I intended to make my second doll! And now I'm planning a third. But, for two years I was successful at owning only one.

      But, granted, in that time, he never had his make-up, wig, or clothes changed. Only recently did I give him a new wig and new clothes (mainly because I sold his old clothes). I think interests grow and change... sure, who knows. I may have 20 dolls here in a few years. Then again, I may have lost interest in/not bonded with one- or I may decide that "collecting" them is no longer right for me thus, I may only have a few. Who knows! No definite plans right now. :3

    13. I just posted in another thread about this but I'll post here too. ^^ I just have one and I am very happy with only having one. ^^ I was actually offered to get another one too ((and I wouldn't have to pay for it)), but I turned down the offer. ^^ I am just...genuinely happy with one BJD. o.o ;;;
