Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Successfully Own Only One?

Jan 1, 2008

    1. I am planning on owning only one (maybe two because yes I agree couples are cute). I also want to do photostories though. It is kind of hard to figure out how many you may get. Eventually you may like another mold and then you'll start justifying the thought of purchasing the "next one" in your mind...and then...

I guess this really all depends...*_* (*thinking about it too long and it gets confusing)

    2. I wonder if it counts that I will soon buy my first doll. . . yet I already own one, because he was given to me o.o"

    3. I dont have any yet... but i am in the process of waiting for my first to arrive..

I dont however think i'll be a 'I'll only have one' kind of person.. since I started off with saying I'll just have one SD... and then it was planned that she would have a male compainion (dont want her getting lonely XD).. and then bought an MSD XD which means i -STILL- need to buy the 2 SD's XD so at the very least i'll have 3.. and i'm still going 'ooh i want that one too.. and that one.. ooooh and that one too' XD I'm so doomed..

    4. That's a funny thing. I really thought I would have only one doll, as I planned, and I'm gonna get my in few couple of weeks, but now, since I'm reading this forums I suddenly thought that I would just love to have two... * _ *

But well, I think I wouldn't have any money in the following year and I really feel like I would just give my whole love to only one doll.

    5. I'd have prefered if I could have been successful at owning one doll but the are all too amazing so now I have four and loads of heads. I sell a lot too :3

    6. I tried to have just one - my first was a BW Chiwoo. I had just him for four months. Then another Chiwoo showed up on Ebay, and he had a really nice faceup - I thought "Wouldn't it be cute to have twins?"

Two years later I now have nine, from several different companies. I woudn't part with any of them. :love

    7. I thought I could have only one. And Elliot was alone for quite some time... of course, then I got a steady job, and now I have three more and another in the mail. XD

    8. I haven't even gotten one doll and I'm already looking at other dolls. It's kind of funny, but my goal is at least four dolls. D:

    9. I was attracted by just one of the bjds (at first). I had first noticed LUTS Mini Fee Shiwoo, and fell in love with him, and decided on buying him, when I started looking more around the LUTS website...and saw the Mini Fee Chiwoo. Well I fell in love with the Chiwoo near the same time as the Shiwoo, so I ended up ordering them both at the same time.

Around the time before I ordered the 2 MNF boys I saw a SOOM Gem Smoky Day Gena and fell in love with her and was just going to get her, and have an only-girl doll...but (at that time) I didn't remember where I had found her (what doll company website) so I went with the boys instead.

I had good intentions for having trying to purchase one...it just didn't work out that way.

    10. It is so hard to just have one doll, myself and every other doll person I know started off saying 'I'll just have one' but then...it needs a friend or you spot another doll you love etc, I have 3 MSD and 3 tiny now, I'm hoping I wont get sucked into anymore but...they are so irresistible and addictive. I still have my first doll and she is still my favourite so i'm pleased about that!

    11. Well, I just ordered my first and he will be the only one I'll have for a long while as I have aton of other things a need to buy as well. Like a car >.<

But once I'm working full time and I have extra cash, I want another DOD and a pipo *sp? ^_^

    12. Wow this is weird, because I was just thinking about this very thing today and now I find this thread. I don't think that a large doll family is for me, I have one SD girl and thats the way I want to keep it. There are plenty of dolls out there that I like very much and dream of having but I would never actually want to buy more because I think it would get to the point where theyre sitting around collecting dust while I play with and make clothes for only one or two.

Whenever I see someone here who only has one doll I notice that they seem to bond better because they only have the one and are able to devote all their time and attention into it.

    13. I am pretty determined to have more than one doll. However, since I will be spending one year in Australia, I won't be able to buy any more dolls than the one I'll have then, Henrietta. So for my first one and a half, maybe even two years, I'll belong to the "Owning one doll and spoiling her rotten" fraction. As in, I'll handsew a lot for her. (I don't know if I could ask my hostparents to let me use their computer or something to let me purchase shoes or something for her :sweat And I'm not sure I'd even have the money for that.)

    14. I plan to only have one or two + a pipos dollie. ^_^ Mostly due to costs/expenses moreso than wanting more dollies.

    15. Right now I only have one. I may very well get more in the future, but right now I want to focus all my attention on my Dhalia. I'm afraid I'd get too distracted otherwise (I have a horrible tendency to do that)

    16. I only have one doll and two other heads. :sweat you can't help but get more heads for dolls

    17. I had four dolls. Then I downsized to one. It worked well for me, but it was more out of necessity and lack of money than lack of a long dolly wishlist. However, keeping up with just four dolls was a pain...it's hard for me to imagine what it would be like to have more than ten...or in some cases...more than 20!!
At this moment I have no dolls, but I will be getting another soon. I'd like to at least have a companion for her, but I will be satisfied with just one for a while to come!

    18. ...No. XD I bought Isaac then I was like, "So expensive, no more." Not that much later I fell in love with dollmore Pado and the rest was history.

    19. I'm aiming for just three... And for a long time, only one.... I'm into creating families... though as for huge groups and photostories, I won't have a hard time doing such a thing even though I'll have only three. My friend is aiming for 24 :o and hers as well as mine are designed in such a way that their characters are in the same world and will interact... So... 27 dolls in one shoot, anybody? :sweat

In all honesty, I don't think having so many appeals to me for the fact that I would end up ignoring them and forgetting that I had them. With just three (2 SDs and a tiny) they'll be kind of hard to forget about and I can easily play with them all in one session. That and carry them around together hehe

    20. I don't have a doll yet and I've already gone through a few stages.

I've been oogling BJDs on and off for a couple of years, but it's been a constant obsession since December. Back then, there was only one doll that really caught my eye. I thought I'd only need the one, since they were so expensive and I like Luts Delf-sized, so I figured more than one would just take up too much space in my little bedroom. :sweat

Then, I fell in love with a second mold and decided when I bought my first doll, I should get a second one to keep them company. One was a boy and the other a girl, so I would be able to experiment with different styles in both male and female clothing and hairstyles.

Now (as you can see from my sig), I have my eye on 5 different dolls! I've decided to get at least 3 for sure, because even two can get lonely and awkward, so why not make a team? Then they can be a family! ^^

I just hope I'll eventually have the money to make my dream come true. :chibi :eusa_pray

But anyways, I think it's admirable for someone to be satisfied with just one doll. It shows both willpower and commitment. Their one doll will be very happy for a long time with all the attention it gets from its owner. :)
