Successfully Own Only One?

Well, I've only brought one so far and I'm waiting on him. Being a poor college art kid helps a lot. But I don't plan on owning more than two or three.

 

Ahah! I am one of those successfully-owning-one-doll people.
I've had Manic about a year and a half now (which really isn't that long, compared to some here, but still), and haven't put too much thought into getting another. For example, I really like one of Bluefairy's sculpts but I push the idea of getting one aside because I can't think of what I'd do with it once it got here. That shouldn't be a question to have in a hobby this pricey.
And while I would kind of like to get another 60cm-range doll for character-set purposes, it'd take me at least another two years before I could even afford that. So I think I'm safe.
I'm pretty happy with just one. He's easy to tote around, and I'm still learning to sew in miniature-having more than one would mean I'd have to design for more than one, and that's just more work

 

It seems that it's really hard to keep to one, reading that many intended to only have one and ended up with more.

I hope that I do, I only want one. I don't even have her yet and I'm already looking at a second though. I'm not strong willed.

 

I started out with just one, a beautiful CP Soony, but now I keep looking around and seeing all the beautiful sculpts ... at the moment I'm going to order a Dambi, and then there's a list of about 3 or so more that I'll buy eventually. So no, I haven't managed to stick to one doll but I'm sure there's some people who find it perfectly possible

 

I started out with just one, and a floating head, that would 'someday' get a body, or could share with the 'one'. Yeah...*looks at the 10 dolls staring at me* How did THAT happen? And #11 should be here in the next couple weeks...And I"m so fond of #10 that I'm considering getting another of him to have twins...

I bought a RanD Angel because that was the most I could bring myself to spend. Then I had a chance to buy a Liebchen, the doll I fell hard for. Because they were so hard to come by, I gulped and did it.

It didn't take long after that to have seven with one more on the way. That doesn't count the RanD I am selling to take the financial sting off a Unidoll.

I am trying to be good now, but there is the Unoa lottery (fingers foolishly crossed), and a MoriMoth that I can't stop looking at, a Supia Yisol, and a Rosy, a Hound...

I don't know what it is about these things.

Started with one, said I only wanted one and then I started looking at other dolls and just went for it....Now I have 3 and a floating head(which I'll be selling) lol! Plus.. I'm thinking of getting another doll >.<! I think my limit is 3 though, 4 sort of sounds overwhelming to me, so I'm trying to find a trade for one of them so I can just stick to 3.

I guess there are people out there who can be happy with one, and others that aren't. It's up to personal choice.

 

I'm waiting for my first bjd to arrive. But I'm already thinking about what to buy next! (when I can afford to, that is). I'm a collector by nature and I hope to build up a massive doll collection, slowly one by one. Maybe I will end up as a crazy old lady living in a house full of dolls! At the moment I only own non-bjds. I'm interested in having dolls of different sizes, colours, styles, brands, etc., rather than having dolls that look similar to each other.

 

I got my first doll in mid January, and having only one lasted, oh, a month and a half? My second will arrive early to mid next week. I'll probably stick with two for a while...at least until I get my own place. Maybe.

I am thinking about ordering two at once, in hopes of saving on shipping. So, I already don't qualify.

 

xD I've just ordered my first doll, and until I did I was convinced that I only wanted and only needed one doll. My first doll isn't even here and I'm already debating which doll I want next. D: As I've seen someone state before in these forums, they multiply like bunnies.

 

well. i want more than one becuase i want a boy and a little one
i thinkmi would love to have 3. My girl is gorgeous and i love her but i would love to have a luts El and a Wishel

 

I only have the one BJD so far, but there's too many others that are just too beautiful, I want more... I'll probably end up with a 45cm and a 70cm *first* and then I'll want another of each size so they have a friend, and then.... hehe

I think I had a vague idea that I'd be happy with just the one because they were so expensive, but...I'm not XD

 

I think more than one would be way too much for me. Though I would like to have one of each size and maybe even a boy I can't see myself giving each one equal attention daily. Though there are plenty of molds out there that I like I think that if I ever found one that I liked better than the girl I have now I would have to sell her before purcahsing another one. Unlike alot of people here I don't do photostories and I don't create characters so I don't think there is much point in me owning numerous dolls, I'm perfectly content with my one girl.

 

Congrats mimou unfortunatly i do have chars and i have to have more then one. keeps me alive i suppose and i love my little children X.x

 

I had said I wanted only one when I first started. But since the day I bought my first I knew it would not ever be true! I wanted an El too badly, if I had bought El first? Possibly. Now I think my list has only grown bigger and more expensive lately. A total of 10 dolls in my house seems like the more realistic goal...

Right now... we're onto 4 dolls, a body coming and 4 floating heads... Rae is still my most precious one. I can't bare to get rid of any of them, but Rae would definately be the last to go.

 

OK, well, I'm about to break my one doll streak, gonna order a new doll next month. Heh. Stupid willpower : P

 

Originally I planned to just have one. I got the tiny girl that I had been dreaming of, and that was going to be it. And now, less than four months after I got her, I'm almost done saving for my MNF Ruth. Every good tiny deserves a mini, at least by my logic. ^-^
But then there's SDF Annette, who was one of the first dolls I ever saw and is still my favorite. So I'm planning on getting her after Ruth.

But then she'll need a friend. And I'll need another Minifee so that they can be mischief making little imps together. So my tiny will end up lonely, and will then need a pet doll to keep her company.

I suppose I'm planning on six. Ten at the most. Yes... no more than ten...
