1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Sweet Dolls Discussion Thread

    1. Colum's 23-ish, but a babyfaced 23-ish. He is an immortal, and a faerie, so...lol.

    2. lol...so many of our Allisons are young looking and immortal. Skylar appears to be roughly 17 - a young looking baby-face 17 year old. But he is just over 200 years old.

    3. Looks like it, the Allison sculpt lends itself so well to that age range and concept!

    4. ! So difficult pose!!
      The body is so nice!!!

Gabe (Granado Boyd) and Zo (Sweet Dolls Allison elf), goofing off. I like how Zo can look so far up and down.

    6. I love the Allison boy so much! :D I saw him in tan skin and fell in love with him! I may decided to get him for a particular character rather than find a Lati Black Istvan on the MP later... Or maybe I'll just get both anyways sometime down the road.

Btw, does anyone have the Allison in dark tan skin? I'd like pictures of that to compare to the normal tan skin. :)

    7. I got my Dark Tan Allison Elf boy Usagi at A-kon. Unfortunately to give him a good face up I need to get some better pastels. I regret I haven't really done much with him. Life gets in the way sometimes. I haven't even managed to get him into a successful handstand by myself yet. :doh

So what kind of mischief will my lovely chocolate bunny get in? Who knows?

    8. hey sweet doll i have an Allison Elf head. just the head and i wanted to know if there was a body i can use other then the sweet doll body ? any idea of what type i can use thankies I m also a new doll owner so you guys will be alot of help

    9. You can use any body you want, so long as the neck circumference matches. I don't remember what the circumference is for the neck on the Sweet Dolls body. Obviously you don't want a neck too big or the head won't sit on it, or a neck too small and the head falls down onto the shoulders. Most necks seem to fit a standard so you're probably very likely to find a lot of matches. And most people prefer their resin to match. I'd think the head would look best on a 55/60 cm boy body but that's just my opinion.

I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you what the neck circumference is.

    10. Thank you hun its alot of help for me <3

    11. I haven't wanted to do this. I've tried working things out, but the other person won't even respond. So, here goes.

About a year ago I ordered a doll from Sweet Dolls, when I met Kiki Chan at the Atlanta Ball-Jointed Doll Convention. At the time she assured me the dolls were enroute and only needed face-ups. Six months later, I finally got my doll. It arrived defective, however. Sweet Dolls have magnetic hands--quite nice for removing the hands while dressing. But one of the magnets was installed backwards, so instead of holding the hand, it shot it across the room. Also, the little metal rod used to hold one foot onto the leg is protruding through the resin.

I notified the owner of Sweet Dolls--who is Catherine Hajek/Kiki Chan/kiki-chan78 on DOA--that there was a problem, and she initially was willing to help. She sent me another wrist joint ... but that one had the exact same issue. Since then she has refused to answer my emails. As a last resort, I sent her a message through Facebook. She still has not answered.

So now I have a doll that I cannot display (because the hand will fall off), and I can't sell, because it's defective. I have no recourse but to post negative reviews of this company. I'm sure the doll would be delightful, if the two small problems were fixed. My frustration is with Ms. Hajek and her apparent lack of concern for customer service after the sale. I cannot recommend Sweet Dolls to anyone because of that.

    12. Can you pry one of the magnets out, either the one in the hand or on the wrist, and reverse it? Simply turn it upside down and reglue it in and that should take care of the problem. I haven't seen these in real life so don't know if that's possible, but that's what I would at least try to do. As far as the metal in the foot- maybe you could post of picture of it because I don't quite understand what's happening or why there is metal there.

    13. The magnet is set firmly in the resin, and I'm afraid I would damage the resin if I tried to wedge it out (like with an x-acto knife. Yikes!) Someone on another forum suggested I could put the joint in the freezer for a while, and the magnet would come free. I'm trying that ... we'll see.

The metal in the foot is a tiny bar that an s-hook holds onto. The bar was pushed too far through the resin, and actually, when I took the doll out of the box recently, I found the bar had broken free and all the leg pieces were scattered around the inside of the box. Fortunately, I have high-heeled feet that go with the doll, and I've replaced both feet with them ... but that one flat foot is now completely useless.

    14. Well, putting the joint in the freezer didn't work. So I took a chance and put it in boiling water. That worked! The magnet came free. Now I can fit it into the hand to figure out the right side, mark the other with a Sharpie, and glue it back into the joint.

I still have the issue with the foot with the rod that poked through the side. Can't fix that without modding the foot (and I have no experience with that). The foot will have to be replaced. If Catherine is willing to send me a new flat foot, then we can both put this behind us. She won't hear from me again and I can enjoy my doll.

    15. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble though I'm glad you were able to fix the magnet. I hope you get a new foot soon.
