It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. taking out your dolls

Sep 24, 2009

    1. Once time I took my Autumn into a theater but nobody notice becouse it was very dark inside. And another time, I brought them to my school for my presentation, everybody thought that my boy's bag was violin bag. When they knew it wasn't, they came and took photo of my boys. I was surprised but you know, I always notice myself that danger could be happening anytime, so I always think about safety first (:3

    2. I've always been a bit of the freak and "unusual", ever since I was a kid. So I'm rather used to being stared at, whispered about, etc. As it stands, I don't have any of my kids yet (though I do have a couple 1/6s), but once I do, my husband already knows that at least one them will end up going almost everywhere with it... sometimes more than one, depending on the mood of the day. Thankfully, he's like me and has always been considered strange too, so he's also used to it.

    3. Chae-ri goes to work with me. Seriously. I work behind a counter at a laundromat and I have a little alcove all set up for her where she can sit out of public view, but where I can see her and look at her and imagine the snarky comments she makes about some of the dumber patrons.

    4. I would looove to take my doll just about everywhere with me, but like I mentioned in the theft topic I'm absolutely frightened that the doll will be stolen or damaged ... I can't believe I'm becoming 'one of those mothers' ... I've been to a couple nearby dollmeets in the past, and it was really fun, but I couldn't shake the feeling still. I hope it goes away over time! I'd totally take mine to movies and especially parks and picnics.

    5. I live in a small town people judge and stuff, but I bring them out anyway. I opened my newest doll in school :) I go to the university all the time also to the mall. People stare and comment on has weird and freaky I am, but I just laugh. I mean really what do I care what they think? I will never see them again. Some people do ask and they are usually very nice about it, so I am happy to explain what my babies are to them. I like it all in all.

    6. I am waiting to get my first BJD, but take my Blythe's on photo shoots all the time, get some weird looks, especally at dolly meets where everyone at the table has a doll and we are all ooohing and awwwing over them...It is kind of fun to see reaction s!

    7. I take my boy once a week to bad movie night with my friends. It's a tradition and its kind of a smaller gathering. He gets dressed up and gets all the attention, and then comes home. I would be nervous about taking him to a larger gathering where people are being more active, and there was more going on. Although even taking him to my friends I get weird looks. People ask what I have and give me odd looks when I tell people to keep an eye on my boy or what not. Still lots of fun.

    8. I take my doll anywhere I go. I sometimes takes her to work and my co-workers love her to bits :) My mom and I always bring her to family gatherings or when we are out shopping. I am a proud BJD mama so I'm proud of my girl :) Of course, I do get some curious eyes and odd looks from people but who cares anyway. They are entitled to their own opinion as I am entitled to have something I enjoy.

    9. I don't have a doll yet, but when I do I'm going to take them to the mall, bookstore, supermarket, and other places if it's safe.

    10. My dream is to get a Dollmore Lusion before the remake of the movie Child's Play comes out, dress my lil' Lusion in a red wig, and bring her with me to premiere ouo.

heehee asfsjfkl i so want to do this oUo.

Otherwise I've taken two of my dolls out to other places, not including meets. I didn't really like it; I had to concentrate a lot on making sure they were safe when I was suppose to be casually hanging out with friends, not fidgeting with my boy's wig every few seconds.

    11. I take them out if I'm meeting up with a friend who'll bring her dolls too but generally they're kept to the house and garden if I know the neighbours aren't about (It's a community garden shared with like, 10 houses)
Actually today I was looking at pictures on dA and thinking that maybe, next year I want to do that photo a day thing and I'd take a doll or two out occasionally for a change of scenery but at the moment I have no urge to do so.

    12. I usually don't take my dolls anywhere just for leisure. They'll go with me if I think I might be taking photo's, show them to a friend, or if I'm attending an anime con, but that's about it! I think I'd be too worried about someone taking my doll or worse yet, me forgetting it somewhere!

    13. When I first got my boy, I picked him up from the post office and opened him in the car. My mom wanted to go to the grocery store after, so I just dressed him up and took him with me because I didn't feel safe leaving him alone in the car. >w>; Other than that, he's been with me to Walmart while my mom was shopping, and I took him to a pizza place with one of my best friends who lives a few hours away from me on my birthday because she wanted to see him. The first month or so I had him I took him with me in the car a lot when I knew I wouldn't really be going inside any stores or anything, and sometimes I still do that. Otherwise he stays at home. ;w;

    14. I allready replied to this thread once (or I think I have xD)
But now I have Mizuki ^^ (she's a 26cm doll) and she is so small for me (with 2 60cm boys) that I want to take her everywhere!!! x3
For example: I got her on friday and the day after I went to a friend of mine who also posseses a doll since recently and I simply dragged her with me..
The day after (sunday) I had violin practise in Amsterdam (I live in zaandam in the netherlands) and I dragged her along as well ^^
      Didn't have anything on monday,,
But tuesday I went to the theater with a friend.. and who was sitting on my lap: Yes.. Mizuki xD

I'm really not embarresed or anything if I go around in public with my doll.. people can accept who I am or don't accept me at all..
And I'm not afraid for her yellowing to much: I bought her yellow skin so I won't see it that much ;)
And I also don't mind it ^^ if it gets to bad I'll find a way to get it off ^^

I think a doll has to "live".. Take your dolls (if you can) with you!! bond with them even more and don't let them dust away and only come out for pictures!
      They are to expensive just to leave them in their box ><;;

This is my oppinion so don't blame me for it ;)

    15. Ok, I saw how to travel with your doll on planes or long trips.

I was wondering, for those of us who take our dolls out on short trips, how does your doll travel? If you're taking your doll to the mall or grocery shopping, how do you take them? Do you bundle them up with small carrier and mask? Toss them in your purse? Carry them in your hands?

I tend to carry mine in my hands but I do get afraid someone will bump and break them.

    16. it is actually quite good. I enjoyed taking them out :)
but just beaware that people are going to look at you for sure.
no matter good or bad comment, as long as you are happy then I think everything is cool.
However, it is better bring them out with a bag and then take them out to took pictures. they are actually pretty heavy...
I cannot hold them for too long if it is super cold.

    17. I don't really take my dolls out in public. I've toted a few of them to my parents' house on occasion so they can see them and I once took my Nari-Pon with me to work but that's about it. I may consider taking them out if I ever decide to photograph them somewhere pretty or if I ever go to a meet-up.

    18. I take Emily everywhere, at least once to twice a week I take her somewhere with me. I like to watch peoples faces when I have her in my arms. She's a big girl so it's kinda hard to miss her. Also at my Mall (I call it mine cause i work there) there are these ladies who liked to look at her. they collect other kinds of dolls but when I told them I could change her hair and eyes they were all over her asking me questions. the best part is they were shocked at her price but the opposite way of being shocked. My girls a Bobobie so telling them that she was under 200 was fun to see. I think I might of gotten two of them to look at some companies ^.^. Also I like walking with her because I like seeing how people really act. So many people put on a mask for their normal day and don't have it brake until something strange happens to them. (*waves* I'm the strange thing). I had one time where I was in line for food and a little girl kept looking at me. Her mom noticed and said. "oh look dear doesn't she have a pretty dolly. go on and wave." and the little girl did so I made Emily wave back ^.^ cutest thing ever!! that is the reason why I bring her out. To make happy moments for people young or young at heart!

    19. I used to drag my doll around more often than I didn't. Now I dont so much because I have less good friends to play dolls with (moved, busy lives, ect.) and I dont like to embarase my fiancée too much where were out. I am taking at least two with me on vacation to New Orleans though, so may photo ops!

    20. My sister and I share the hobby so we both take them out. I usually keep mine in a carrier unless I want to snap a few photos and we have several friends who visit us from TN and bring their dolls, so in large groups, we usually take them out of the carriers. Most people in my area are not rude but they do ask questions about them or want to know what we are doing taking photos of dolls in the park. We explain and they say "How interesting" or "You should pose them like this!"
