1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Taking your dolls to school / college?

Jun 3, 2011

    1. My college experience was great; maybe I just lived in a really nerdy dorm but no one blinked an eye when they looked in my room and saw dolls everywhere. Surprise maybe, but never judgment. I was also really lucky to have a single all 4 years, so I never had to worry about thieves. And honestly, if I did experience a theft they would've taken my electronics, not my dolls.

I brought a doll to high school one day, it was a special event type thing and no one said anything negative to me, but I definitely got a few rude glances. In retrospect, I shouldn't have done it. It brought way more negative than positive attention.

    2. I'm living off campus until I finish college, but I bught my two dolls and won my third while I was in the dorms. My roommate likes them :)

    3. Personally i don't think this is a good idea...Just imagine going through all the explanations and weird looks from people...Not to mention my boy could get dirty or being poked a lots TT^TT What's the point having him all packed and sitting there alone while i'm busy studying? Yuki would rather stay warm and comfortable at home..

But i wouldn't mind bringing my Yuki to school or Uni or a shooting ~ I mean, as long as the sceneries are nice XD ~

    4. I would recommend leaving your doll at home especially if you don't know who you're going to live with. Unless your roommate is also a bjd collector!

    5. I am hoping to bring my doll (and hopefully my other one which I recently ordered) to college! Hopefully my roommate will be ok with dolls and maybe I could even get her into the hobby!

    6. I have not taken a doll to school yet. I start back in the fall and while it would be fun im not taking my msd dolls with me. I am getting a yosd as a travelling buddy so they will probably come with me.

    7. I really want to! Gosh I would love to have my babes with me at school but even though my roommates are pretty chill people, they do get a little creeped out.

    8. I don't plan on it when I go off to a 4 year university this fall. There's too many variables at play, I think it would be too risky! Plus I wouldn't want to deal with weird looks and all that. Maybe I would if I lived off campus in the future, but until then my (future) dolls will be staying at my parent's house.

    9. I just graduated and for three years I had my dolls with me. I actually purchased my first doll while in my sophomore year and had him shipped to my school mailbox. All of my friends knew that he was coming and were really curious about him. They were confused buy kind. I took him around campus a few times, to clubs and such where he was a bit of an oddity but nothing bad happened. I actually learned that the president of one of the clubs I was in was into BJDs too! Each of my other three dolls arrived during winter or summer break and were then brought back to campus. My roommate teased me that they were multiplying but she was never rude. My two suitemates, my roommate, and I were all good friends so I didn't have to worry about them harming my dolls. By having them around, I even got one friend into the hobby!
