1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Tan bjds!

Mar 12, 2014

    1. Most of my dolls (5 out of 7) are tan. ^^ 3 are Bambicrony tan, one is Rosenlied suntan, and the other is Iplehouse's light brown. They're all within a few shades of each other. Definitely my favorite color. ♥

    2. I like all skin tones! I have a ton of white skin, normal skin, blue skin, grey skin... pink! and of course, tan. It's just nice to see some tan skinned dolls along with all the more paler-skinned dolls, I think!

Here's my Iplehouse SF Rex in Light Brown skin, which really is a fairly dark tan... Tans look good on pirates, I think, since they probably get a lot of sun! :)

    3. I dont own a bjd myself bit I'm not exactly crazy over tan skin dolls, I might own one in the future... not sure

    4. I love tan dolls. I have two. It's probably my favorite skintone option for dolls. I'm always tempted to go for tan even when it's not the right choice for the character I'm making a doll of. However, I have a few dolls that I got in NS because there wasn't a tan option at the time and now there is. I'm kind of wishing I could reshell them into the tan dolls..

    5. When tan first came out, I thought the colors were so beautiful. Then I started seeing the horror stories of them turning GREEN and that scared me off. But, it seems at least some, if not all, of the newer tan resin formulations are more stable. I'm told that Iplehouse is currently pretty stable, as well as Spiritdoll.

I'm thinking about getting a tan Spiritdoll Freesia, once I stabilize my funds and save up some money again.

    6. In all honesty, I really don't want a fan doll. It's not a race thing. It's just that I like the pale, vampiry colour of WS for a doll, like an old fashioned doll, or something that isn't alive. The other thing is that you can't really sand them in any way, or you run the riskof motley coloration.

    7. I love tan dolls, but don't have one yet. I got both my resin kids before joining DOA, and the things I read outside of here made me think that if I got a tan bjd, it would be so badly mottled it would look tie-dyed, it would have massive chunky seamlines that I could do nothing about, and it would instantly turn green!

Now that I know better, I'm hoping to find a tan or ebony doll for my collection one day. I especially like the look of some of Impldoll's tinies in dark tan.

    8. I used to have an NS-only collection for fear of tan greening or white yellowing, but lately I've wanted more variety and my favorite companies (LUTS and Fairyland) began offering fabulous tans. Now I have a Tan F60 Karsh and a Light Tan Delf Arwen. They're amazing and it's terrible because now I want more tan dolls!

    9. The majority of my dolls are tan skin, due the story they belong to, and I adore tan dolls of all kinds (like tan Blythe).
They look good in dark, light and pastel concepts and there is something so rich about their skintone, I vastly prefer it over NS and WS (even though some concepts work best with WS).
However, I only like tan when it's moderately dark and not too orange, I dislike when it looks like some barely tanned normal skin or like a person who slapped on too much fake tan x__x
A nice medium brown is the best.

I currently have...9 dolls in tan, 2 in white skin and 4 in normal skin (+ three other dolls in a NS-ish shade, but they aren't BJDs).
Even though I started collecting tan dolls because of the story they belong to I already know I will keep on buying them in future, I have all characters for the story at home but I just can't excape the prettiness of tan skin XD

    10. I have one, and three floating heads that I cannot match with any body that I have tried

    11. Oooo I love that contrast too! Tanned/dark skin with cream coloured hair is one of my favourites

Oh man the waiting game is such a killer, I can't wait to see them though!

Oh wow his tan is a really pretty color! His outfit is very fitting, it looks great on him and his face up is really nice!

    12. I think because of my own skin color I'm more prone to go for the dark skinned bjds. So I often find myself liking that skin tone a bit more but I also like to have a bit of variety

    13. I absolutely love tan skin colors. I have two at home and I'm waiting for another.
My favorite is Connor, my light brown Rebecca boy

    14. I love my tan Ringdoll and have ordered his twin. You can see he makes a great fighter/pirate.

    15. I have to agree Ringdoll tan is gorgeous.

Here's an outdoor shot showing the wonderful caramel color:)

    16. I love tanned dolls too! They seem easier to photograph and paint. I would get one if given the chance. :)

    17. At some point I know I want a tan boy, I just haven't decided which one yet!

    18. Tan skin is beautiful. However, for my style I have for my dolls, the tan skin wouldn't suit. :(

    19. My first bjd is a tan Islanddoll cookie that I named Alexis. She is so beautiful.

    20. I just got my first tan doll - a Fairyland Feeple! I love the color so much. I would like to own a doll that is even darker one day.
