It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Tan bjds!

Mar 12, 2014

    1. I would love to own a tan doll if I had a character that would suit it, but I get nervous sometimes because there seem to be a lot of mishaps with tan skins, whether it's odd discolouring or that they yellow unevenly. They do look really lovely though!

    2. I love tan dolls! I've got a bronze skin Soom head for which I'll hopefully be getting a body soon! She's so lovely, and I feel like I'll be able to do so much with her!! :)

    3. Aaaa it's really great to see all these replies! It's so cool to see how excited people are / u \

    4. is there such a thing as a tan unoa?

    5. Unoa Mocha is tan, and they made tan Chibi's but i don't think they've made Zero, Lights, Sisters, brothers or 2.0's in tan yet.

    6. I like well-made tan skin, I own two tan dolls myself.
I don't see that many nice tan skin tones around, though. Mostly they are too red or orange for my taste and I don't like the really dark tan skin tones, either, because either you can't take good pictures of them or they tend to partially reflect any light or show you dirt and dust more easily than fair skinned dolls.

    7. so if somebody had a tan lusis or sist, it is a recast? or is there another explanation?

    8. Either that, or home tan's done by owners.

    9. ah. thank you. I see.

    10. I love the tan dolls. I've also never had an issue with they aging badly.

    11. I love tanned dolls, my favorite resin out of my crew is my tan Yo-SD.

    12. I have a few characters with a lovely tan skin, so I hope to get a few someday. :) I think they have a lot of options and lovely shades of tan. It's neat to see the differences company to company.

    13. On behalf of tan resin...Resinsoul's light tan is a really nice dark creamy tan, it looks really nice when photographed, much easier to take a snapshot of then the pale dolls...And thy have darker face ups to match their complexions.

    14. I love them, especially the iplehouse tan dolls!

    15. I adore tan dolls! I have one at home and two more planned. I wish more companies offered a tan option, honestly.

    16. Tan dolls are probably the most beautiful, and as of now I have one tan boy in my family (soon to be two).

    17. Most of my dolls are tan - I just think they look more natural that way. Of the 17 I have, only 1 has had any unfortunate colour change. Everyone else is looking great - my oldest tan doll is this guy from 2007:

    18. I would love a tan doll, I've just never known what character I would have. They are gorgeous.

    19. Aaaaa wow I'm so glad people have reply to this thread!

      i really hope I can get a tan doll one day v u v

    20. I started the hobby saying I'd never get anything darker than NS because hearing about all of the problems with tan resins scared me...

But recently it hasn't been an option anymore, because every single character I've come up with is darker skinned... Just so beautiful to draw, and so beautiful to match other colours with. You really can't do as much of that with paler skintones. So I've gotten my first tan doll, planning on ordering another end of this month, and looks like there are going to be a bunch more in my future as well (I would kill for that Soom tan Obsidius SO doll...).

An additional bonus with tan dolls is that you can see the sculpt features much better - even in real life the paler tones just don't hold enough shadows/are too reflective to really show the little details... Which is why darker resin tones can sometimes make the doll look like an entirely different sculpt! (It's not always a good thing, per se, like if there's some sculpt detail that's rough and tan makes it stick out more... but that's usually not the case).
