Tan bjds!

I am glad to hear that it is a carry over from days gone by. My older tan Ringdoll may have gotten tanner because he is darker than my new tan boy but it could be just a new batch of resin. He is still just a beautiful caramel color, neither of them have seams or sanding marks. Skin as smooth as a baby's butt as my momma would say.

Could anyone who owns an Iplehouse ebony doll help me with a question? I really like this darker color, but it appears almost greyish in certain photos--is it greyish in real life or is this an artifact of flash or my computer monitor?

 

I ordered two tan bjds from withdoll and I just cannot wait for them. They should be coming home someday soon... withdoll just has the most beautiful tans in the whole world, at least to me. I love tan dolls, and I'm counting down the days until I can hold them. XD

 

No, it's not grey at all. It's a very beautiful dark brown. It's just the lighting in the photo. Here's my Benny outside. I posted a picture of her earlier in the thread inside.

Half of my characters have a good tan, so the subject is unavoidable for me. Most of the sculpts I like don't come in tan so I'm going to become rather comfortable with dyeing. I don't like neon orange "fakebake" tan but more muted, natural looking pigment and I LOVE pink toned tan.

 

Thanks, silverholly! Your doll is beautiful. I saw some photos of your and Hervoyel's darker Iplehouse dolls, but photos elsewhere had me concerned. I feel much more confident in ebony now.

Anyone knows about matchings with Iplehouse real skin? Maybe luts real skin brown?

 

I really like the look of the tan dolls I see online, though I'm yet to have any of my ordered dolls arrive, one of them is a light tan (my luts senior delf Cherry with real skin brown). I'm not used to working with the skin color so it's making me think a little more about what clothing would suit her best, but I really think it gives a little more realism and character to a doll. I'm quite looking forward to her arrival. Yukari, you'd probably already get a picture of a Luts real skin brown doll by the time mine arrived unfortunately if not by some chance I'll post a picture up

My first doll was a tan and I absolutely fell in love with the skin tone. If I could, I would have all my dolls in tan skin, but that wasn't always an option. I noticed that Luts now offers most of their dolls in different tan shades and I was sooo happy to see that. I don't like white skin at ALL so at least now I have an option for skin tone, lol. My last purchase was a Luts tan and my next one or two probably will be too.

 

I don't own any but I'm going to have a Real Skin Brown SSDF. I wonder what he will looks like in real...Excited

 

I think Fairyland tan is so beautiful! It is a bit more earthy and less orangey (not saying that tan dolls are orange). I would love to have a tan doll! I just don't have a character for one yet. :P

 

Although I do see a lot of pretty tan dolls, I prefer either normal skin or white skin.

 

I have ventured into tan territory recently - ouch it burns sometimes LOL .....if you order from dollzone!

Summer 2013 'tan' on my dollzone Mika and Nyu - a lovely soft near pink - sunblush really rather than 'tan' As they age (now a year old) they are looking less pink and more 'tan' in my opinion too.



But customers complained it was too pale.....so now we get this 'tan' instead! I had heard the rumours and was expecting my dollzone jeremy to be orangey - and after 5 months waiting I am just glad to have him home at last, and I do love him very much indeed - But I don't think anyone else does! The nice thing about him being bright though is he can wear brighter clothes than my other, less colourful dollies - so he is loud and proud I'm interested to see how this 'tan' ages too....
