Tanned Limhwa Half Elf, Mano Elf, Human, Eva and Dreaming Half Elf Discussion

Emsinnott I know how you feel about the new Limwha girl, I so wanted to order her, but I just have to wait until next year to get her, hopefully the economy will be better then.

 

Well I finally got my girl together.



Needless to say I am head over heels for this one. She's wearing 12mm eyes and I think a 7-8 wig that's a little small. I'm curious what size eyes other Dreaming Half Elf's are wearing. Do 14's fit better or take up too much space?

I love her wig and eyes, my girl also wears green 12mm glass eyes at the moment, I think 12 mm looks way better than 14. I tried 14mm blue glass eyes from luts, but they make her look very "doll-like"
altough with the 12mm eyes you can see right into her skull if you look from the right angle
also I find 7-8 inch a little too small, but 8-9 a little too roomy..

anyway, your girl is gorgeous! and I love her looks!

sylvian, the wig is actually just a short wig from Kon'D with the bangs swept to the side. I'm sure if I tried to cut one myself it'd look a lot more mangled.

Thanks for the input AnnekeKarel I've been second guessing myself about whether or not I should have ordered 14mm gumdrops but I don't have any 14s to check.

 

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to share a photo of my beautiful girls. They are patiently waiting for their sister, Luna. I did their face-up, body blushing, and nails. Now I have to take them apart again to do hot glue suede-ing and wiring. I forgot to do while they were apart, I was just too excited about seeing how they looked. If anyone wants to give me advice about photography, I'd love to hear it. I have so much to learn.

My savings account just died, but I just ordered a tan Eva with a tan dreaming half elf face-plate. Despite the very few owner pictures Eva has been on my mind for a while and I'm a sucker for dreaming heads too. Who can resist a dreaming half elf in tan after seeing keepithushhush's picture?
Can't wait.

I will post pictures when she gets here. There aren't many pictures of her, but I have the feeling that despite not being "princess pretty" Eva has something special going for her.

 

Eva has a definite interesting quality about her. I don't see many of that sculpt, which is a shame! So it will be good to see yours--especially in tan!

 

That Eva is one of my favorite also. She's such a super model but not a snob.

I'm wondering if the resin is still orange, because I'm interested in ordering a tan Limhwa girl and I definitely want her in a brown tan colour ^^;

 

My Limhwa girl was made in the same order als the orange tan To Ls and she isn't orange at all. A very nice chocolate milk colour:


(a better picture that is more like how she is in real life.)

So I have no idea why the Limwha artist made carrot tan To Ls and normal tan girls.
If you are going to buy a Limhwa girl, you may want to ask if the artist can ship her unstrung or wrap maybe a piece of carton around the chest joint to limit movement during shipping, because my girl arrived with a chip missing in the upper torso part (that ended up in her head to illustrate how rough she had it during shipping). It's not the first time a Limhwa girl arrived broken that way and although Dollfair arranges replacement parts, it's so much nicer when your doll arrives in one piece.

 

My To-L isn't really *orange* either, but I can definitely see the difference from earlier tan girl pictures ^^ So I want to make sure she won't be the same type of tan.

PS: your girl does look more orange than older girls judging from pictures ^^;

 

It could be my camera settings, but looking back at the other pictures in this thread the resin colour of my girl does look "warmer".

If you are up for travel you could always put your To L next to my Eva and see if the colour is different enough for your taste, but I guess there will be variation in resin colour between batches that you can't forsee. I just hope that the replacement torso Dollfair ordered for my girl will match.

 

generally, tan resin color varies from batch to batch. my tan half-elf from the very first batch is a wonderful shade and i was hesitating ordering the optional heel feet for her, but i went ahead in the end. I'm glad I did because if i had ordered the tan heel feet later, the resin probalby wouldn't have matched exactly.

 

I wish I had realized that when I ordered my tan girl. I would like to get her some high heel feet eventually but the warmer tan wouldn't even be close to matching. Guess it's a good thing I don't mind blushing. I wonder if Limhwa will ever release different optional hand parts. She does such elegant hands.

 

I'm so glad to see the Limwha girls are not orangy tan at all. When I was ordering my Luna, I hadn't seen any of the the orange horror stories and then go really worried. I'd love it if she were the some warm tan as my Supia girl. I have been waffling about changing to NS regular resin as opposed to the tan to be safe. Does anyone have a regular resin Limwha to share?
I forgot to mention just how beautiful your Luna is , Muisje--she's fabulous!

 

I was worried about the orangy tan too, because my tan girl (and a half) are from the same order period as the orangy To Ls, but they are okay. Apparantly somewhat warmer in colour than the previous batches. As I'm getting a replacement torso in the current order, so I hope there isn't much difference between batches. ^_^;

Thanks, Sistercuervo. ^_^ But my "Luna" is actually a Limhwa Eva. You don't see many of those around. Probably because they are not standard pretty and have a lot of bad angles when taking pictures.

 

Apologies, Muisje! I was thinking of Luna, as she is the one I have made a deposit on. Your Eva is truly lovely and has such a beautiful face-up. Keepithush's dreaming half-elf is a beauty, too. I wonder how dark she is compared to Supia's tan? I have a tan little Yisol that I dearly love.
