Tattoos: just you, just your dolls, or both?

At the moment, it is just me. However, once I get the time and materials, I do plan on giving my dolls the tattoos that their characters have.

 

I adore tattoos/getting tattooed but my dolls probably never will! I have no idea why I am just not interested in doll tattoos, at least not right now.

On the other hand I have seen some really beautiful tattoos out there.

 

I have tattoos, love them. If I could stop spending money on dolls I would get more. But as far as on my dolls, it hasn't been in character for them yet but if it ever is, then they will get some.

 

I have tattoos myself. I would love my girls to have them but I am too scared to do it, so they are bare at the moment. I would probably look into tattooing them in the future though.
Tattoos make your doll so much more personal and human like.

 

Tattoos are interesting but I don´t want ink in my skin. Maybe someday when I will have male doll, he will have tattoos.

I have a coupe tattoos (a hitodama on my right ankle and the Joestar birthmark), but I've never really cared for the idea of putting tattoos on my dolls. Oddly enough, I feel like I would be too apt to want to change them and don't feel like I want to 'waste' the time and effort of painting a tattoo. Also, my dolls have never come off as it being very in-character to have tattoos.

ADMITTEDLY though after getting the Joestar birthmark I've kind of wanted to give it to one of my dolls too (it's a star on the left shoulder/bottom of neck (depending on reference), and looks really cool imo)... it doesn't make a lot of sense though since they also don't come off as Jojo fans to me rn... uwu

 

I want a tattoo, but for my doll it would be a no. I wouldn't know what to put on him lol

 

I have tattoos, and I would not be adverse to giving my doll a tattoo.. But I have no plans to do so with any of the dolls I am planning. Oddly enough, I haven't created many characters with tattoos over the years. I have two and and planning on a third soon, but I have just never given one to a character of mine yet. Now I want to!

 

I am very heavily tattooed and pierced (i am a body piercer by profession lol), but right now my boy doesn't have any. Want to eventually tattoo him, but want to figure out a way to make them look authentic. Most are so bright on a doll, they look fake, so want to find out a way to age them a little.

 

I agree that tattoos give dolls personality. I myself have three and would love to do one on arya, but I am afraid to do it myself!

 

I want do give my dolls tattoos~ Like a body art thing. I think it will just make her more artistically beautiful
But I dont have tatoos myself nor can I ever do. I do want a small one but my parents will never let me cause of personal/religuos resons or something.

 

yea I know what that's like. My parents hate fact I a tattooed, which is why I waited until I was 23, had a job and lived in my own place. But the nice thing about the dolls is you can always test out a design you want on the doll, and if you get tired of the design, you know not to get it permanent done on you! Lol

 

I myself have tattoos everywhere but none of my dolls do. I may one day own a doll with tattoos but at the moment tats don't really fit in with the characters of the dolls that I have.

 

I, myself, have one tattoo at the base of my neck. (And I have at least 2 more planned) But none of my dolls have tattoos. However, that's just because I haven't done them yet. I think tattoos on dolls are really cool, if done well. But, I will say, (No offense to those that have done this) I find it...not in my taste, to see a Yo-SD or smaller doll with tattoos (Unless it's a fantasy creature. Like an elf, or whatever.) But a human Yo-SD with tattoos? Just looks like a child with tattoos and it kind of creeps me out.

And yeah, I found this strange to see "baby" with tatoo, but why not ?

 

I have a tattoo and I don’t think I have the skills to draw one on my doll and I don’t know if I ever will. I like more fantasy fairy none human type dolls (some of the ideas or ones I want could look good with a tattoo) but I don’t think I’d ever do one. But you never know

 

I don't have or want tattoos myself - I like some tattoos but I am waaaaay too indecisive, and I do not want anything that permanent stuck on me (I know you can remove them, but the process of removing them is expensive and not always scarless).

I like the idea of having tattoos on a future doll, though! I will have to think about it.

 

I have a couple tattoos and several piercings but at the moment none for my dolls. I don't have enough dolls yet to have a character doll with tattoos and piercings. I eventually am going to get a doll specifically to put tattoos and piercings on but as for my other dolls I don't really like the permanence of them and have yet to decide on any specific ones that are important to the character. Like, most of my characters have tattoos and piercings but specifically what they are is not decided nor really important at the moment therefor the BJD gets none.

 

I'm planning a BJD tattoo for myself right now! My dolls perhaps in the future...when they get a job and can pay for their own!
