Tattoos: just you, just your dolls, or both?

I think I would like to have one or two tattoos, but I've never been able to truly decide on what I want... So I've never taken the plunge.

On the other hand, I like experimenting with my dolls. 4 of my 5 dolls have tattoos or some sort of body art. Two of those 4 are hooved dolls and have My Little Pony style butt-designs. I'm not sure I'd really call them tattoos, since the dolls are intended to be children. My MSD and SD-sized dolls also have more piercings than I would ever be comfortable having in real life.

 

I have a ton of tattoos, and I actually do tattoos for a living. So naturally, my dolls have ended up with tattoos... I just couldn't hlep myself. And honestly, that was one of the big appeals that got me into the hobby in the first place.

 

I'm too indecisive to get a permanent tattoo but i will be tattooing one of my future dolls, Tamara. She's going to have a full-body Dia de los Muertos skeleton tattoo.

 

Tattoos look pretty on people and dolls! It's art either way, and I think body art is cool and unique, and it gives both people and dolls character, so I'm sure both me and my dolls will end up getting inked. xD

 

I am very into tattoos and design all of mine myself. I do piercings and wildly colored hair as well. Just the kind of person I am. I am very out there and my dolls reflect that. I intend to have all of them tattooed and/or pierced and a good number of them will have odd-colored hair. That is just what appeals to me. ^^

 

I like the LOOK of tattoos, but I wouldn't get them for the following reasons: 1) They HURT 2) I'm REALLY not fond of needles 3) they are expensive and 4) they're permanent (and they discolor over time). All of which don't apply to tats on dolls, so no problems for them!

 

I want a tattoo. Badly. I have near-solid plans to get one sometime in April or May when I have money again from buying terrible things. (Just paid for a second doll, have plans for a third, and still need to buy a computer...) As for my dolls...I don't think my first girl will get any...but my second one seems the type. Just not sure what. And...*thinks* I don't know about the other ones I am planning yet.

 

I have several tattoos, albeit my largest is on my abdomen so that it is not in the eye of the general public.

I have seen tattoos that are great on dolls, but just because I have tattoos it does not mean my dolls will NEED to have them as well. It depends on their character.

There is one thing I am very protective against and that's piercings. While I have piercings myself, I do not want my doll's face to get holes all through it incase I ever change my mind about it.

 

I hope to get a tattoo some day. I'm just being veeeeerrryyy careful with my planning of it. As for my dolls - not yet. I hope to send one or two out for a tattoo commission or something, but I'm still thinking about who is getting what. :}

 

I want tattoos but don't think I will ever get them. I'm already planning for two of my dolls to have tattoos, in fact, for the one doll his tattoos are a big part of his character.

 

When (not if) my book is published, I'll get a commemorative tattoo about it. Lief and Cain are characters from said book - Lief has a star tattoo below one eye, Cain will have a full back tattoo of a rising phoenix when he gets his body. Both are 'canon', though Cain's is highly symbolic and meaningful, whereas Lief's was just a bit of drunken fun. On his face. Because he is stupid.

 

I have one small tattoo (and with plans for others), but as of yet, none of my dolls have tattoos. Not against the idea at all, it's just that they're not fitting for the dolls I currently have.

 

I have tattoos, none of my dolls do yet though. I might give them some depending on if it fits their style, haven't had any ideas yet though and I don't think I'd be able to make them look very realistic :\

 

I won't have tattoos but my dolls will.
I have this character that I just drew before and she has this big pretty butterfly tattoo on the lower stomach. I really like her so I really want to make her come to reality. Also, will make her rival and the other one to complete the trio. They all have tattoos~ X3

 

I currently have 3 tattos and plan to have many more (but keep spending my money on dolls instead!), but none of my dolls do. I guess partly because I see them as being very young.

 

Gotta go to quoting Anneko here - "I don't have/will not get tattoos myself. Fear of needles, the fact that they're nigh-permanent and my mind is really not..."

But it's not just that, the body changes too much by the time we get all wrinkly and the tattoo will, too. Beyond that, my being a big baby about pain really just turns me off to the whole notion of getting one. I'll freely design them and think on some people they look fantastic, though! The same for that would probably be the same for my dolls. If it suited the character and I could produce a nice one, why not?

 

Tats scare me. I mean, not on other people, I think they look amazing and beautiful and I always admire them on my friends when I get a chance. But they really scare me. Needles scare the crap out of me. My doctor gave me a prescription for a xanax when I got blood work done a couple months ago because I cannot calm down around needles. And once it's in me, I get faint. You know how little kids freak out about it and when it's done don't notice it at all? Not me, I am aware of that damned needle every second it's in my skin. Once I had a shot in my neck and I vomited afterwards. I just cannot cannot tolerate needles. It's a shame, too, cause I found the prettiest tattoo... I thought of putting it on my dolly, but she's so demure and homely that it wouldn't fit her at all, but I think if I got another doll I would add a tat.

 

I want to get a tattoo SOOOO bad. I've even gone as far as designing my tattoo and everything, I just need to print it out, take it somewhere, find the right tattoo artist, and save up money.

So, I could have gotten a tattoo recently, but I instead decided to spend that $300 on my doll xD I guess the tattoo will just have to wait until I get another $300 D:

I don't know if I want my doll to have any tattoos... I might, who knows. It would be cool to give her the same tattoo as me xD I might totally do that actually O:

 

Well I love tattoos. I have one and Helen and Ginger will be COVERED! Combined they have all the tattoos that I wish I could have, but that's like 22 total, I know I won't go that crazy on myself.

 

I don't have any tattoos and am 99% sure I'll never get one. However, I would love to paint some tattoos on my doll once he gets here!
