1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. I love my both of my tattoos, especially the one on my back. As for my dolls, if it fits the character, they get one. Only 5 out of 50(ish) are tattooed, though, and 4 of them are total fantasy characters.

    2. I don't plan on having any tattoos, mainly because as you age your skin will loosen and change, and thus the tattoos' appearance will also change. I'm not sure I'll like the unpredictability of something that I put on myself. I obviously don't have anything against aging (it'd be pointless), and while it could possibly be interesting to see how tattoos change as you age, I'm not particularly inclined to take the trouble to get one just for that.

However, I am in the process of putting a 'tattoo' on my only male doll's body, mainly because I see the resin torso as a canvas: tattoos on resin aren't permanent unless it's etch it in, and there won't be the same issues of aging on skin that a real tattoo would have. So basically, tattoos on dolls are okay for me because I have more control over them, but the three dimensionality of their sculpt gives me a different challenge than simply painting on a 2D surface. After all, tattoos on human skin and doll 'tattoos' really are quite different, aren't they? ;)

    3. I am heavily tattooed and pierced I am also a professional tattoo artist. I am one of two known on this board (that I have met anyway)

I do all of my own customzation work and only tattoo 3 out of the 15 I own. I do not think every doll should have tattoos as they are a severe pain in the butt to keep up with as mentioned earlier in the thread. If you do your own customization it would be easy to deal with, if not I can understand why you would not want your doll tattooed. They typically need to be redone every year for a doll that gets limited amount of play.

I should mention that it is not for everyone to get tattooed. Some people cannot simply handle the physical limits that it tests, and otheres cannot deal with the permant issue of them. Some crazy yahoos, like myself- adore the darn things and cover ourselves with them. Getting a tattoo should not be taken lightly, I am a professional I do this every day and talk people OUT of tattoos because they are not simply ready for the commitment.

Do not get a tattoo just to get one, have a reason and know exactly what it means and stands for to you. But dont try to be one of those people on Miami Ink, that comes up with some elaborate story for a cherry blossom they are getting on their foot for their mom who just died. (Your artist just might write you off as an idiot and not take you seriously) If you just want a tattoo simply to have because you love the design, and know thats why you want it. Then get it! If not look else where.

Just my opinon, I do this 5 days a week I travel around the world tattooing, and tattoo solid 8-10 hours a day when I work.

    4. I plan on getting a tattoo and getting tattoos for my doll, too. c:

    5. I'm thinking of having some tattoos on some dolls I will be getting in the future, but really, I don't see myself getting a tattoo. I like the idea, I really do. But it just isn't... Me. So I'll stick with only putting them on the darling dollies.

    6. At least one of my dolls has tattoos as a result of her story, and I'll be applying them to her at some point.

Me, however? I'm phobic of needles. The closest I'll come is henna!

    7. One of my dolls has tattoos right now. The tattoos were part of his character even before I got the doll. They were, however, only a vague idea and I had yet to visualize clearly what they looked like. I actually love how I ended up designing the tattoos.
I won't tattoo dolls that don't have characters with tattoos. It has to actually be a preexisting idea!

My main reason for not having any tattoos myself is because I'm pretty indecisive about that sort of thing and wouldn't want to get anything I'd regret later, but now.. I have to say I'm tempted to get a smaller version of one of the tattoos I have on the one doll that has them so far. They just came out so good!

    8. I personally have no interest in being tattooed, but I do love certain kinds of tattoos and flash art. Some of my dolls are tattooed (and will be getting more) and some won't be. It's whatever suits the character of the doll. :) I actually wish more of my dolls were suited to tattooing, I find doing the art on them to be quite fun!

    9. I have tattoos on my inner forearms, both of them...but I dont want my dolls to have them.....go figure.

    10. I'm pretty much covered in tattoos, while none of my dolls have any yet. I do plan on it, but it's gonna be the same with my real tattoos... my dolls need to have the right artist. I don't just wanna throw anything on them.

    11. I have one tattoo on my back, and plan on getting more.
I already have all my first doll's tattoos planned out!

    12. I have one tattoo. So far, anyway. XD
Two of my dolls have tattoos. My Cosmo has a custom one done by the same artist who did his face-up. My IO have 2 stick-on tats that came with his previously-owned body purchase that I don't dislike so he's gonna keep them. lol I'm gonna learn how to draw them on dolls so I can give Cosmo more.

    13. I'm highly unlikely to ever get tattooed, considering my fear of needles, but I did get one of my dolls tattooed because I saw an artist I really, really liked.

    14. I don't want a tattoo because they mostly aren't so beautifull that I want to have them on my body till death. The same goes for my doll, because I don't like tattoos in general.

A little cross under my hand would be fine, but not for my doll. :)

    15. I have a tattoo on my arm, chest and across my back....and i dont want any on my boys. They are just fine the way they are. In fact i dont think i would have any at all right now if it were not for the fact i have birthmarks i've always been self conscious about until i got tattoos to cover them up.

    16. So far, I have four tattoos but my dolls do not have any (yet) I only have plans for one of my dolls to have tattoos because his character does. I am just not in a super rush to have it done yet. But I do love seeing tattoos on other people's dolls... and other people for that matter! Just another way to express creativity so for me, what's not to love?!

    17. I like tattoos, I have one and want 2 or 3 more. My boyfriend is crazy about tattoos, he has 15:lol: so it's impossible to live with us without having tattoos))) now Damon has his first *trial* tattoo, but I plan to make more =)

    18. I have three and more to come! :D I also plan to give my lovely Kamui a few as well. But I don't know which ones or how I'm going to do it just yet

    19. I have tattoos myself, nine Kanji down my spine and a goldfish on my left shoulder blade. I love them, personally! I wouldn't have gotten them done if I hadn't. I intend to have more done in the future as well. :)

I also have dolls with tattoos, but only a few. Currently the only one of my crew who is 'complete', tattoo-wise is my School A, Balthazar. The ever wonderful GirlyTattoos up there actually did all of his work for me and he is amaaaazing! I have several others in my crew lined up to get their work done as well.

However there's also several dolls that wouldn't ever dream of permanent body art! Haha, tattoos are for some but not for others. Guess it's the same in dolls. :D

    20. Both! Why the hell not?
Although my dolls and myself are lacking ink at the moment, but one of my former dolls had a simple tat, and I've got plans for several for myself. One of these is going to match a tattoo on a certain character of mine, who will eventually end up in dolly form. So I'll match at least one of them. :3
