Tensiya releases 4th Dollshe DO Bermann - Hwa-rang

Jun 21, 2006

    1. I'm kind of puzzled by what you mean by this? Do you mean Anu should pick someone(you?)to decide who's going to get the dolls? And I think it's clear by now that being on the priority list didn't mean you got a Bermann-even though you did get a bigger chance..

And uhm..war? Are we comparing DOLLS to war now? I'm sorry, I have to disagree with that..at the end of the day, all this is about is a shop(yes, no matter how much of an artist Anu is, no matter how much she loves her dolls, Tensiya is a shop. A business.)selling dolls. Not really a life or death situation..and I think people have been very civil in this thread. Dissapointed, yes, they have opinions, yes, but that's going to happen, and they have every right to say so. Anu chose to use the priority list thing-which is her right-and it was very sweet of her, but not everyone's going to be happy. It's part of business, you know? You take choices, and some people are going to be happy, and others aren't. It's pefectly normal..not like people are hacking Anu to pieces or anything XD

    2. I completely agree with your last post Raouken, well put!

Anu made a business decision regarding the priority list. It may or may not have been a good one, and we are all entitled to our opinins on that, but it is her business, and she can make whatever business choices she wants. And I do think she very much had good intentions in making that decision.

Whether it worked, or was fair is kind of moot. Lots of business owners make decisions that work and don't work, in every country of the world, every day.

I for one am glad that next time there won't be any lists, and everyone will have the same chance on equal ground. And, because of that, there won't be any room for all this conjecture as to how the list worked, or if it was fair etc.

I was never in favor of the list in the first place, but again, it was anu's decision, and one which she had a right to make. Period.

I also think that even those of us who are disappointed are being really civil about it, and I have hardly seen a backlash of anger or resentment directed at anu or Tensiya in this thread.

    3. The numbers of yet-to-be-released Bermanns was posted -

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showpost.php?p=928383&postcount=172

As for the current Bermann and "the list" - what transpired after the Heimdal sale to have so many of us believing that the priority list was eleven in number?

    4. That's a good question..I, for one, just assumed 'hey, okay, every release is 11 dolls, and the next release is going to the people on this priority list, well, then, it must be 11 people!'

..it seems kind of odd though..did no one ever notice there were more than 11 people who paid for Heimdal and got their money back? That there were 30 people who thought 'cool, I'm one of the 11'?

(We could totally write a detective novel from this stuff..'The Mystery of Bermann'..it'd be a bestseller and we'd all have enough money to buy all our dream dolls..)

    5. Raouken ....You totally took what I said out of context....just the part you wanted to argue.

I have fought for Anu's right to do as she wanted. I questioned anyone's "right" to say it was wrong or unprofessional. And I still do.

However, the people on her list need to realize she was very generous. PayPal didn't give them a bonus for making a mess of things., and PayPal played a part in the mess, too. You act a though you are entitled because you tried to get Heimdal......I'm saying you are getting a chance to get this doll by the grace of Anu. No more or less.

I question if it matters who was first on the list or last. Anu knows who is and isn't on the list...

If everytime Anu offers these dolls for sale, there's going to be a huge discussion on the subject....I just thought I'd offer to help her find her buyers...that's all. Guess that threatens ya... ^0^

    6. I'm sorry-I quoted only the last part of your post because I understood and agreed with the first part, that it was very generous of Anu to do the list at all. I'm sorry, I should've said that and not just argued ^^ I just didn't understand what you meant with the picking buyers thing..I'm not threatened bt the idea(I don't even want a Bermann, why would I be threatened?)but to be honest, I don't agree with your idea now that I understand it. It's sweet of you to try and protect Anu, but I think the idea of someone picking the buyers-thus deciding why gets a Bermann and who not-is very unfair..actually, I don't think there is anything wrong with the 'click as fast as you can!' method she-and most online stores-use, it's not about the regular released of Bermann, just this one time..

Do you question if it matters where you are on the list because you think Anu chose the people she thought worthy to have a Bermann? You may be right-I don't know Anu of course so I don't know how she thinks-I wouldn't agree with it if it was true, but it is her choice.

However, I do have to say-or rather, repeat-Anu has every right to do what she wants. Tensiya owns the right to Bermann, and she can do however she pleases. You don't have to fight for that right, she already has it. But with the right of doing whatever you please also comes the thought that not everyone is going to agree with you. You can't forbid people not agreeing with Anu. That is their right, just like it is Anu's right to do whatever she wants with the releases. I'm sorry if you don't agree with that-is Anu a friend of you? I can understand you want to protect her, but this is how business works, and it's not right to forbid people to voice their opinions on her business..just as much as Anu has a right to do what she wants, her potential buyers have a right not to like it.

    7. You know...I am getting a bit tired of this...there are still 5 more releases to go. Does this mean that this thread will be repeated 5 times!??!!
There are 11 people that were lucky, 20 other people weren't...okay the end...next time 11 people will be lucky XXXXXXXX people will not be...also the end!

As I said before, everytime Volks/Souldoll/CH/etc comes out with a limited, I never hear people moan about that. Tensiya is only 2 people, Anu and Momo...Anu has been very generous towards the people who miss bought Heimdall cause I don't think any other company would've done that.

The people who didn't get one this time...fight harder next time...but if you again don't get one stop the whining...your internet connection is either to slow or you were to late period.
Noone can choose the winners for the next Bermann release, cause we all like some people better than others. And this is NOT a war...at the end of the day we will go to bed some a bit more depressed than the rest but that is life either wake up and smell the coffee or don't and drown in it.

But this isn't very nice to read ALL the time...cause people will start to think dolls really are for immature kids

    8. Reply from Momo about how the winners were chosen --

    9. Thanks for posting that nena. I knew there was some logic behind how they chose to do this.

I think I would have done it a different way, but then, I grew up in the US, and I really do understand that there are differences in culture, language styles, and business.

I will say again, that I believe Anu wanted to figure out the best, and fairest, way to do this, and that, her intent was nothing less than noble.

Aside from that. I see no reason for any members of this board to beat up, or even imply a beat up, towards any other members of this board.

I will state again that I think overall, eveyone in this thread has been VERY respectful towards Tensiya, and, it serves no purpose to further beat up those that are frustrated. I mean seriously WE ARE disappointed.

Jeez. I think anyone who misses out on any doll they want REALLY badly, has a right on a chat board to say, "hey, I am seriously bummed". Bummed, does NOT equal put-down towards Tensiya, or anu.

Do I think that every release of Bermann, will fall suit to a large discussion of him? Yes, of course I do! He is a much coveted doll and alot of us have strong emotional attachments to one day adding him to our family.

Is it wrong to vent disapointment? I don't think so, in any way, as long as it is not turned into attack and anger towards Anu/Tensiya or other members.

Frankly, some of the after discussion that occurs after these Bermann releases, and the missing out on them, is what helps keep me sane. And it bothers me, that some would read that wrong, or say we should not express our feelings.

I apologize, but I really feel that is what chat boards are for. To share, to express, to cry (if need be) and as long as it is done with class, and doesn't " judge, or attack", I sincerely hope it has a place here for expression.

Hugs to all who so love this sculpt! And again, I am so thrilled for the winners! What a wonderful, magical doll to look forward to. But, I also send hugs to the others who didn't get in. We just have to keep enjoying the magic that is Anu's trademark and hope, and try again!

Keep Tryin, and hang in there gang!

    10. Yeah, I figured based on some LJ posts that there were definitely *more* than 11 people on the list, I sort of always prepared myself for that. I figured, 'ohhh there'll be perhaps 12-20 extra'...But I'll tell ya, I really was floored when it turned out to be 30! Woah....that was a serious server meltdown that night in Heimdal land.

But hey! Everything will be back to normal next go round and y'all can shoot for it to your hearts desire! Something to look forward to, right?? :daisy Awww come on everyone, lighten up here, I'm trying to add some smiles - Gayle, you're doing GOOD! :D

    11. Thank you Raouken, nena, gayle, Christy (& others)--I think you've helped make the general mood here a little easier.

I would be sad if--in this thread, of all threads; in this forum, of all forums--the disappointed people felt like they couldn't be disappointed, and the ecstatic new Bermann-owners felt like they couldn't be, well, ecstatic!! This is Bermann, after all!! :D

    12. Well put, thanks, grey_roses.

I researched all the Heimdall coverage on DoA, for example, and I'm kinda sad that most owners seemed so impressed with all the hurt feelings and sometimes anger around, that they didn't dare to share their boy's arrivals with us much, compared to other long awaited doll arrivals... that can't be what we really want to happen...:?
I doubt we will see a HwaRang waiting thread, myself...

And on the other hand, disappointment must find its fair expression too... and it would be nice if we all could tolerate that as well.

      :arainclou Manda

    13. oh, well said, Gayle!

the Bermanns bring out our emotions, that's for sure.

I'm just hoping someone will part with the blue outfit, boots included! (PM or email if interested in selling.)

wasn't Anu's story fascinating? the way she presented it makes me go back to look at it again and again. she has such a talent for storytelling. :aheartbea

    14. No offence meant, but yeah.. I managed to get myself a Hwarang, and i already feel bad about posting here.. It's so sad that such negativity has been directed at the Bermanns these past two releases.. sigh.

On a brighter note, i've paid for him already! :)

    15. I think that's very upsetting too. Like kagami, I myself didn't want to post that I had gotten him because of some derogatory made comments earlier. Unfortunately not everyone is like gayle and thesaraghina with their disappointment. I was talking to another member here who won Heimdal and he's never even posted about him on the board, much less shared pictures because of the last fiasco. :\

I've gone and made a waiting for Hwarang thread in the Incoming Doll forum and added some extra info about his release specifics there. I don't think getting a new doll should bring bad feelings or guilt. I was happy for the Heimdal winners, and I'm glad there are people happy for the Hwarang winners too.

    18. You know, it's not really limited to just the recent Bermanns, either. My partner idrisfynn rarely posts pictures of her SA Valentino, Magnus, for the same reason. People were giving her crap for "flaunting" him, as though she was just using him to gain popularity on the forums. Very wierd and disheartening. :?

If everyone who had a Bermann just posted him around all the time like it was no big deal and there are lots more available, maybe folks would get over it and he would just blend in eventually. And maybe people would stop mistaking them for Hounds. :|

Sometimes I feel a little bit guilty that we have one in the house. When I console those who want but do not yet have a Bermann, I find myself wondering if I would be so encouraging if we were still seeking one. It's easy to say, "Hang in there, guys!" from our position. But then again, when I think about how much more we paid for Magnus second-hand I think it evens out because that was a terrifying experience. :sweat

    19. nena & St. James: yes. Also, I do wish idrisfynn would feel free to post pictures of Magnus. It's a pity we don't get to see more of him. :/

Kagari: I hope nobody has actually said that; that would be a little over the top. You, gayle, thesaraghina, and probably a few others whose names I don't remember right now... you've been remarkably mature about the whole thing, and everything else aside, I honestly, honestly admire that.

Sabriell: as I think I mentioned on your journal, I think it's bad that people feel a need to attack anyone, especially Anu & Momo, because of their disappointment. However, many people here are only expressing their sadness without hurting other people in any way, and I think that's a perfectly acceptable and healthy thing to do... it may seem like whining, but hey, everyone's got to whine. Especially after such bitter disappointments... once you've got it out of your system, then you'll be good to go again... right? :) Best of luck and quick fingers to everyone next time.

    20. I'm so shocked to read this! My Valentino, Jacques-Yves de Puy, Comte de Havre de Grace has had dozens of pix posted on DOA and elsewhere and his photos get the most hits on my website. Not one person has ever said anything negative about his visibility. Whoever was unkind to Idrysfinn isn't worth paying attention to.

If ever there were a place to flaunt happily, DOA is it. Everyone shows off their dolls and posts are always (as far as I've seen) positive.

Please don't feel uncomfortable about something you have every right to share. Let's see more Magnus! :love

I can't wait to see pix of Hwa Rang in his silk and wish Heimdal owners would post pictures of him in the original costume. We can't all own every beautiful doll, but second best is being on DOA where we can see them.
