1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Tensiya releases Dollshe Tan SA Bermann Il Milione

    1. Well I do think Hound IM looks like Bermann, he's just more pointy...
Here is my ex-Die together with Kaoru:

    2. Congrats to all the winners! So great to see everyone winning. Commisserations to those that didn't get theirs.

To help explain, Bermann was originally supposed to be a limited mold before the Tensiya releases. Mister Dollshe created the doll and did a very limited run and that was that. I have the numbers and more detailed history on the Bermann Faq over here if people are really interested. ;)

    3. yay, yay, bunnydots!!! :D

did anyone else use black magic? oh, kidding....:aangel:

    4. I seriously doubt that poor Sherry had any way of knowing whom of the thousand applicants already had a Bermann. Once narrowed down to the $2000 bidders there is a vague possiblity that it could have been factored in, but Anu may have felt it was unfair to choose for or against applicants who already own one (or more). Sabriell certainly seems to know more details than she's willing to spill here, though. :eusa_sile

Maybe the last release should be done by throwing all the names in a fishbowl and posting a film of the raffle on YouTube so we can all watch the winner get announced. ;)

    5. *cough* *choke* *gasp* Wow .... that is a lot of emails to go through. I thought maybe a couple hundred but.... 1,000? *_* I'm totally floored by that number.... I hope she gets a day or 2 off to recover after that.

YAY!!! Congrats bunnydots, chemicalstar, julia, petiteballerine and summerbreeze!!!! :aheartbea

    6. OK, you MUST teach me that spell :)

Yep, I think that would be about the fairest, and simplest way to do it.

No hard feelings after, either, as it would be totally random as to winners.

    8. congrats to everybody else too...i know i'm acting really unexcited but to be honest i was somewhat thrown by this whole occurrence :ablink: especially since i only got 4 hours of sleep last night, not because i was up waiting to see about Bermann, but because i was trying to get some work finished that slipped deadline last week. i read the tensiya e-mail at 5:30 am when i got up to have another crack at finishing the late work and i was sort of like whut? and now that i read there were 1,000 e-mails i'm totally floored by this happening. i would have found it easier to believe if it had been the e-mail contest again because i know our server at work is pretty fast and i only messed up last go-round by looking at the wrong clock and hitting the "send" button too early. but the idea that my entry would be picked out of 1,000 or even out of 100 people who all bid 2K...my mind is boggled.

i actually had to go back and read my "win" e-mail a few times today after i paid because i kept thinking i must have just dreamed it up in my sleepy state, and the site let me pay but anu would cancel the payment out later.

    9. I think that would be kinda cool.

I'm gonna try for the last release! ^__^...if I have the money in time x_x

Edit: Is the date of the last Bermanns on December?

    10. There is no date set for the next Bermann release. Could be in three months, could be in seven or more. Depends on when Anu finishes this set.

    11. Sadly, no one ever knows when they will be released.

So in a way, no amount of planning can make you ready. It happens when it happens, and we ALL just have to roll with it.

Congrats again to all that managed to get this one. HUGE congratulatory HUGS.......

    12. :aheartbea Hugs & Congrats to all the lucky winners!!! Enjoy! The rest of us will be eagerly awaiting photos of your lovely boys :D

    13. This is exactly the kind of thing I was concerned about in my earlier post -- except for the information *specifically* asked for in the application (bid amount, form of payment, plan to resell?, etc.) no other content should have had ANY bearing on the chosen winners. Period. If Anu wanted applicants to list the reason(s) why we're all so "deserving" of her Bermanns SHE SHOULD HAVE SAID SO UP FRONT. (1000+ standard applications were bad enough, can you imagine if poor Sherry would've had to go through ALL of those as *essays*?! Yikes!) Granted, the content of the applications may've had nothing to do with their decisions.

But no matter how hard I try to "turn the other cheek", BECAUSE of how these releases have been (and continue to be) so poorly/unfairly conducted... I honestly find it difficult to be *genuinely* happy for the winners... even people I consider my friends. :( It really sucks... every time a Bermann is released, I end up feeling like a petty bitter b!tc#... and WHY?!?!... All because some woman way over in Korea doesn't have the common sense to release her dolls in the FAIREST way possible?! :doh And even though some here may have the grace to take the higher ground, I KNOW that the majority of Bermann hopefuls--who haven't already won(?) at least one Bermann from Anu's releases--feel the same way, at least to some degree.

I mean, as a community, have we honestly stopped to think of the ramifications if it were ever discovered that Anu (et al) had even once resorted to choosing winners based solely on things like their name/alias, dolls already owned and/or sold, status in the BJD community, ethnicity/culture, other interests, religion, degree of humility displayed, @$$-kissing ability, age, gender, etc., etc., etc.? Exactly WHY is it that in all this time, ever since it became so blatantly obvious, at least to all of US, like what--TWO YEARS AGO--that Bermann was becoming so insanely popular, after how many screwed-up releases, why is it that Anu STILL can't *quite* get it right?! Has it honestly NEVER occurred to her that a straight BLIND LOTTERY draw from ALL entries/applications/bids/whatever (or, yes, even eBay) is the BEST way?! I mean... if I didn't know better I'd almost swear that she's TRYING to create animosity in the BJD/Bermann community...

      And I'm sorry, but this:

"There were too many applicants than our expects,
in addition, there are too many hightest bidders, too..
So we had to agnoy agnoy agnoy and agnoy for our choice for a long time...."

does NOT sound like an UNBIASED decision to me... :|

Sure, I'll get over it, just like I've gotten over all of the other past releases I've tried for and didn't win. And... I'll probably still try for the last damn Bermann... all the while my paranoid mind wonders if my "negativity" in this thread will somehow make it into Anu's Ultra Top-Secret Files of all Bermann owners and hopefuls... like Santa's omnipotent Naughty & Nice list... or the goverment's "non-existent" UFO files, heh.

    14. I don't think this is at all accurate. But you would have to ask those who won what they wrote in their email.

I think you are getting much too emotional about this. Anu has poorly handled the Bermann releases yes, but your angry denouciations about her are not helping the situation.

A Volks like lottery would be much better, it has been stated on many times in this thread. But really, I see no evidence of people being favoured by Anu AT ALL. Yes, people who have Bermann's already have won. But how could Anu find that information out? Why would she want too? What does she gain from giving a doll to a specific person she will never meet? It looks like it is just a coincidence.

All this anger just makes the infamous 'Bermann Drama' more infamous. Seriously.

EDIT: Yeah, Julia said that she didn't write anything to convince Anu to pick her

    15. I wonder... where does the Bermann lust makes the owners want more than one... or more than two... I mean, when does this become a 'get as many as you can'? It has to be such a torture to pass over and over for the same thing, but apparently, owners of Bermanns need them in pairs XD. It is not a critizism (i am the very first one that tends to get the molds I love in duplicates), but in the case of such a scarce and coveted doll makes the whole task, how to say, titanic (or worth of a titanic monthly payement).

    16. *shrug* I just wrote the truth. I don't feel particularly "deserving" of a Bermann or anything else in life more than anyone else. Blessed or fortunate in some ways, yes. More deserving than the other guy, no.

    17. Kim > I agree about the lottery, but I'm sure whatever way Anu choose to pick up the winners, there will ALWAYS be angry and frustrated people, because when a lot of people want something limited, it's always like that.
Lottery is maybe the fairest system, but if someone who already has 3 Bermanns wons one more? Won't there be angry people at all?
There is no perfect system. And Anu probably didn't expect such problems, she didn't choose this system in purpose to annoy her customers .
I probably will never have a Bermann in my life, but I'm sincerely happy for those who win, because having a dream doll is an important moment in a collector's life, that's all.

    18. I personally think that no matter what system Anu ever chooses not everybody is going to be happy unless they win one.

    19. I could be wrong, but didn't Anu conduct a straight blind lottery for the release with the Mr. Fogg costume (and I think that was a triple release)? And weren't there still complaints and unhappiness at that sale? And how many from that release went flying to the market place and ebay?
**edit ok, I was wrong, apparently it was a first come basis based on email time stamp. In any case, people were unhappy with that method, too.

I am not a Bermann expert, but from what I understand, Anu made a deal with Dollshe to customize a set number of Bermanns because she was inspired by his sculpt, even though Dollshe planned to discontinue the Bermann line. Anu has been the one to 'market' Bermann through her creativity and vision, and the one to sell Bermann to international customers.

Anu is a customizer, not a manufacturer, with the rights to issue those Bermanns as she wants, she doesn't owe it to anyone to sell Bermann in any set way or at any set price. I think that she would like to sell them to people who love Bermann as much as she does, but how does she do that? All she can do is ask and hope that no one lies to her.

If anyone should get $4000+ per doll, I think it should be Anu and company, not an opportunist who was lucky enough to get one at Tensiya. And if she auctioned off the rest of the Bermanns on Ebay and Y!j, how many people would cry out in rage that she is only making them accessible to the wealthy? I mean, look at the complaints at the fact that she was asking for $2000? On a doll that she herself could auction for twice that?

I think that unfortunately no matter what Anu tries to do, she is going to be met with dissatisfaction at her methods of deciding to whom to sell. There is no way that she is going to be able to please everyone who thinks she should sell Bermann their way.

    20. Exactly. This is the only truth that can be counted on, stated right there.
