1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The Dollshe side of the Dollshe/Dollmore copy issue *translated statement page 27*

Nov 21, 2006

    1. OMG, I can't believe I am spending so much time on this, I have to prepare for Turkey day & not even close to be ready.

This is not from a Korean Paten lawyer, however,
most laws are in general univerally similar.
In the US, copyright is for the piece of artwork like art, books..
apprent of the dolls fall under copyright.
Patent is funtional like inside of the dolls & how it moves & works.
I doubt that Dollshe will have that because he will have to copy his
      first doll from somewhere right?
      Back to dinner sorry....

    2. I think this is the reason Dollshe appealed to the public first, not because he does not believe in his case, but because these things are so hard to fight legally. I would think he wishes his customers/fans to show loyalty to him by boycotting Dollmore. Also, of course as an artist he is very angry and wants people to be aware of what he believes is the truth, that he was copied. So, I think that's why he released the strong statement and pictures, which is understandable, in my opinion.

    3. Again I know nothing about Korean policies here... I just know if this was happening in america Mr. dollshe would be told this, its changed over 20% the thickness and everything. It will be hard to pove the difference between theses two: the copy of the doll or the likeness of it.

One are so parts wear used as a base, then moded to become a tottaly different doll, thats it.

I mean simmilar products come out all the time, and no actions can be taken...

    4. I think that would be interesting to see. *hopes someone will give us a comparison*

    5. Quoting this for emphasis. This is why Dollshe may not have a leg to stand on legally. Unless it is a REPLICA, there's not really much they can do. It's just a shame that Dollmore can basically copy and use the mold from Dollshe but change it enough to make it look different enough to get away with it. It's just a slap in the face for artists.

    6. On the issue of you showing Dollmore model dolls here.....
I do not think we have banned any dolls, except those that do not meet criteria, or have been proven to be copies, as in the ForeverDolls.

Until a legal response has been received, I don't think we have any problems showing/buying/selling any of the Dollmore dolls.
      :)

    8. I am reopening this thread for discussion.

This is an emotional topic, but do not insult other members. People who own DM Kyle, this thread is not a personal attack on you or your buying practices; Dollshe owners, please be respectful of the feelings of other people in the discussion. Keep snark from other forums out of this discussion as well; that does not belong here.

    9. All I can say is that I really want a Model Boy doll at some point, as he would fit well with my collection. I certainly hope he won't be discontinued! I've dropped Dollmore a line asking about the fate of their Model Doll Ms.

Until a legal decision has been made, I won't say for certain whether it is or is not a copy. To others, the answer may seem obvious... but I suppose until now, everything is just a speculation and there are more things that remains to be seen.

    10. PamSD said in her hound/kyle comparison thead that kyle's legs are he same as model woman's legs. so there's one example!

I have owned three different Dollmore bodies and I know all of those three's little quirks. From the pics I reckon Kyle has the general styling of Dollmore. (eg look at wrists, ankles, whole of the leg shape, knee joint) at least on the surface. new Dollmore kid body shares is a good one to look at to compare 'Dollmore-style'.

However having Dollmore features does not mean he is without Dollshe parts underneath....This is why I think Dollmore has copied.

He has definately had a lot of sculpting put in by whoever made him for Dollmore. But it looks, to me, as if they started with Dollshe parts.

    11. Hello again~!!

I've gotten the "recast" pictures from Mr Dollshe...and well after seeing this it's VERY easy to recast a doll >_>!

    12. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Dollmore is where I bought my boys from (V1 Hound and Saint). I had no idea that Kyle was such a copy - you really can't see in those shop photos, the blushing has obviously hidden Hound's flat stomach well to make it Mcbeefy Mcbeefsterised.

      I can't believe they'd do this. Arghhh!

      :'(

    13. Is there any news confirming yet weather or not this will go to court?

I maintain, that only a legally decided outcome will ever end this debate.

    14. i second that.

    15. I third it.

    16. ^^^ Yes Dollshe is preparing to take this to court

    17. Good.

Persoanlly, I think all speculation should cease until the results of the case are made public. Until then, all that will happen is what happend last night- people will get upset and threads will be locked. :sweat

    18. Unfortunately a legal decision will not necessarily resolve the moral implications of what has happened.

Han Mi Sun, the owner of Tensiya told Dollmore that she will post
the pictures to tear down Dollmore.
So Dollmore knows that Tensiya is behind all of this.

Dollmore is preparing for legal rights today to defend themselves.
Dollshe has no patent for his products as far as I know also in the US,
if you don't have patent, it is ok for anyone to copy-if that is what
      ended up happened-it is legal.

It is not yet aproved that Dollmore copied but as a buyer of these expensive dolls, I wouldn't care whether it is copy or not, I just want my expensive doll to be well funtional & has the looks I want.
      My opinion as a collector...

Right on Hyon. You tell the REAL truth.

Hugs my friend, that took coutage.

Courage is admitting you copied and apologizing. Dollmore is obviously capable of sculpting their own dolls; they did so with the female Model. They should have done the same with the male.

    20. I was gunna not post but.....

That is not the blushing...he does have a washboard stomach...Hound's stomach muscles are not as well defined in the sculpt...check the comparison pics in my thread...Trevor is not blushed in those.
