1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The Dollshe side of the Dollshe/Dollmore copy issue *translated statement page 27*

Nov 21, 2006

1. The package is different as well. Kyles is a fair bit smaller.

2. Dollmore Jee replied and said that tomorrow, they will be releasing Kyle's new "fatter" body (LOL yeah that is the term they used)... and there will also be a new head.

From the way this person replied... it does not seem like they will be pulling him off the market.

My speculation is this, as I have been dropping Dollmore some questions before their Model Doll has been released... It seems to me that they had a hard time making male body for their model series. They initially told me that he will be 73 cm tall and that he will have a buffer body as well as a western face. I suppose making this model doll was not as easy as they thought... so they turned to modifying the already existing Dollshe (><), then made a mold out of it... hence the sudden change in specifications. But this is just a random thought. I'm still going to wait for a legal decision on this matter.

3. Well said. Perhaps this is a very U.S. view of mine, but when something like this happens I always think the proper place to resolve it is in the court of law, not in the court of public opinion.

I understand that an artist might feel upset but creating controversy usually just spurs additional interest and sales in whatever product is at issue. I was planning to get a Kyle anyway because I like that type of doll, so this just made me do what I would have done already, faster. But I'm sure there are other people who will now buy Kyle to see what all the fuss is about, or as a form of speculation really hoping he may be discontinued and his eBay value will go through the roof, or just because they hadn't been paying attention before but now they are.

4. TO:VinylFaerie

I know you came in late so I apologize. but I do suggest you go back and read a few.

It has ALREADY been established that Kyle and Hound ARE NOT THE SAME DOLL. that is established. that is NOT what we are saying

As Donn and Zagzagel have said. (zag's post is 4 pages or so back)
what we are asking is this

Did dollmore use Hound's body to HEAVILY modify and make Kyle. That is all.

It is also written if you read my translations, you can change the top exterior by adding putti and than sculpting/cutting technique. this is very easy to do, since Mau has been done (the cat doll head) and make a TOTALLY NEW doll

in fact we all know Kyle IS A TOTALLY new doll. he poses differently and has different joints

but again. we are asking, was Hound's body used as origional base and then add putti to make a different body and cut a few joints to make him look more different

Mr. Dollshe is NOT trying to monopolize 70cm dollline. nothing went wrong with dollshe girls or dollmore girls appearing after all.

and as many mods have said, IF you have used the entire mold of another body, and added something, that's modifying. and it is wrong.

Also, I'd like to add. IF the body was used and added putti, it is NOT made from scratch. IF it was made from scratch, that is considered INSPIRED. it is NOT considered INSPIRED if the body was used as a base, it'd be considered as COPY.

again, i'm just trying to explain, i'm so sorry for the bold. it just means i'm trying to exagerate the words i believe are important. i am NOT trying be sarcastic. and i'm not trying to be rude. i'm trying to explain something which i think is really hard to understand sometimes even for myself

5. To Gayle

Mr. Dollshe had said that what he wants, is people who are buying from dollmore KNOWS that he believe it's a copy doll.

as long as they know, he said he doesn't care if they buy it. he just wants the truth know i think.

again this is what i'm thinking. he just wants ppl to know dollmore copied him. i don't think he's trying to STOP ppl from buying dollmore and just buy dollshe

6. Well said, Rukawagf.

7. I too took a look inside my Hound, yep, right there at the bottom of his "abdomen piece" is the bump. There are a lot of pitted/rough holes at the top but if you tilt him in good light and look, there are some that are a bit deeper, and I think might be the ones Mr. Dollshe is referring to.

In the lower pictures I believe it is a Dollshe ab piece and Kyle's lower torso, both looking in from the top.

There is no mark inside Hound's head (it's very smooth and nice), like Rukawagf translated, these are marks inside the stomach/ab piece, not the head.

I don't really have a preferred side, so these are my neutral observations. If only we could get some confirmation about Kyle's body.

8. I'm not sure this summary or original post upload in hear but, I just
write it.
There are another comments from Dollshe side and Dollmore side.
I just summarize shortly that everyone could understand.
At first, Dollshe asked Dollmore, Is the kyel body copy the Hound's body and
Eun Young Lee said yes. She agreed that she copied Hounds body first.
Then Dollshe asked her to stop selling Kyle, and Eun Young Lee changed her word,
she didn't copy. Dollshe will stop complain to Eun Young if she said sorry to him/her and stop selling Kyle. But Eun Young is ignored and sell it.
Dollshe doesn’t mean she complain to Dollmore that they made 70cm.
Dollmore copied Dollshe’s art. I’m not perfectly understand the law, but something like
law of copyrights of person creation, is very sensitive to Korean people.
You can’t touch one piece of picture without permission, if you use with out permission,
you have to pay penalty.

If Dollmore tells who made the Kyle and they let meet person who made Kyle
To Dollshe, this problem is not going to make like big.. But Dollmore evades an answer.
Every time Dollshe asked to let he/she meet person who made Kyle, but Dollmore said
‘No.โ€™ and didn’t tell person’s name.

Any way Dollshe doesn’t want to go to court, she/he wants to
solve the problem with man to man(Dollshe and Dollmore) but Dollmore didn’t
listen Dollshe, they didn’t explain anything that Dollshe asked them to explain and
Dollmore said they would charge Dollshe to the court. So again, Dollshe’ll charge Dollmore to.

I can believe something like this problem happened in Korea.
I hope this problem is solving in good way….

9. But as we all know, the court of public opinion tends to be much faster to jump :\ And ideally, the BEST place to solve stuff like this is out of the public and legal eye, behind closed doors. Somehow this didn't happen, and thus, we're set up with a not so ideal situation.

Not sure if it helps matters, but I'm still holding my final opinion until I get a chance to see a Kyle body in person, or with really good photographs. We've had several Dollshe chime-ins so far, but no Kyle as of yet. I'd really like to see how that works out.

10. We don't know what he said to Eun Young. Granted, what you are saying is what he said in his presentation that Sabriell shared, but, we don't know what actually was said to Eun Young. It would be nice (and helpful) to have her weigh in on this.

Hyon is planning to update us this afternoon, so perhaps we will have a clearer picture then.

11. roolee09

thank you SOO much

i thought my translation was too long so many ppl skipped reading it. but it's what he wrote so i didn't change it

mr. dollshe HAS gone through a LOT of trouble to not get into this drama. he's not over reacting. after dollmore ignored him and continued to sell what he believed was a copy, he had to do something. i think that's what happened.

he did NOT turn to the community at first. of course he tried to resolve it calmly. right now, i think he's very devestated. it is rumored that because he's depressed, he might not release his new dollshe. in fact, he might quit the dollfie world altogether.

again the top is a rumor. i dunno if he'll go through with it.

and again, if dollmore can provide us with scientific answer, and someone can translate it (other then me since we found out i know JACK about science lol. so sorry guys for failing AP Chem) and it's resolved at court, not much we can do

and court will take from 2 months all the way to 2 years.... so yeah it'll be awhile guys.....

12. ah i understand. meaning Mr. Dollshe could have twisted their conversation to make it into his favor? it could be true. I'm sure he has his biasms after all. the guy's at a pretty emotional state

alright. i'm willing to translate both letters. and Hyon's point of view if she plans to write it in korean.

Again, I promise I can translate without ANY biasm. Any koreans here can correct me if I translate ANYTHING incorrectly.

I work at a korean publishing company so as a pride of having a job of a traslator, i'll do my best to carry the feeling and the mood of the letter as well as the accuracy in my translations.

thanks guys for being actively supportative of this thread without any bashings going on.

13. I'm sorry, but I have to jump in and say that court should not be the be all and end all. I know nothing about any law, but I do know not all people who copy other creations are prosecuted. These things can be hard to prove and even harder to have legal action taken against. It can also take a long time, I think.

Arguing has no point, either, because everyone has their own opinion which usually won't change. I think it's best that whatever opinions anyone has, they act on it as they see fit and keep it private. Anything else is just going to be speculation and anger, right? Mr. Dollshe has made his opinion known for his customers and Dollmore customers, and everyone will act/believe as they want about it. I have my opinion already, and the legal ruling, if it ever comes, will not sway it, and I'm sure many others are the same by now. So, being defensive, I think, or offensive, isn't going to help matters at all.

just my opinion ^^

14. TO: kasviel

well said ^-^

15. Rukawagf,

I have read the entire 300+ posts, (before I posted) and that was my reaction to everything said. So many people are crying "copy! copy!" that I wanted to state my opinion that he cant be a copy because he is not the same. That is the definition of 'copy', right? The same? ;)

I do agree that Dollmore *probably* did use the Hound body as a base and modified it from there; maybe I wasnt too clear about that. :)

My point was more like 'it's still work to modify, whereas its NOT work to copy exactly' which is sort of off topic. lol

Much thanks for all your translations!

16. I really really hope he wouldn't stop making dolls altogether...
I love Husky, Afgha, Afghan and Afghana...

Also I have to say that I DO NOT like people's assumed accusations of Mr. Dollshe tempering with the photos so he can monopolise the 70cm market. Also I DO NOT like all the name-calling/conspiracy theory about Tensiya.

How would Dollmore and their supporters feel if I say 'Dollmore could have sanded down the imperfections in Kyle to destroy evidence' after they've updated photos/informations and those bumps and dents weren't there?

That's just not very nice at all

17. Rukawagf I really hope we can hear from Eun Young. Though it might not resolve anything, at least we'd get to hear/know her side of this.

Hyon is trying to get some answers from her, and has promised me she will post them as soon as she does..
Has anyone considered the possibility that if indeed the Hound body was used as a base, that perhaps, Eun Young was not aware that this was how it was being done?

It's my understanding that she works with a sculptor/mold maker, to whom she takes her drawings and ideas, and he then creates the doll. Eun Young is not a sculptor herself.

I have no way of knowing if this might be the case, but if so, perhaps it could explain why such a doll was released. Dollmore has always been very ethical, and I at least, think this could be a possible scenario.

If this does all go to court, the sculptor could be subpoena'd and perhaps some answers might be found.

Again, I am merely speculating, not in any way presenting this possible idea as truth.

18. "Also I have to say that I DO NOT like people's assumed accusations of Mr. Dollshe tempering with the photos so he can monopolise the 70cm market. Also I DO NOT like all the name-calling/conspiracy theory about Tensiya."

I don't think anyone was accusing him of that. However anything is possible via photoshop, so we really don't know.

I wish both Dollshe and Dollmore would hire an independent contractor to take pictures, and review the dolls in general. Someone who doesn't have any emotional involment or vested interest in the outcome. That would be super helpful in weighing all this out.

19. oops, double post.

20. TO: gayle

well, this is "just" according to Mr.Dollshe here

he said that she KNEW. when he confronted her the first time. she have said to him that she felt it was MORE unfair for her because she knew it'd cause drama.

and then she avoided him. or something like that.

again, this is JUST from mr.dollshe's words.

you are of course, saying mr.dollshe is either 1)lying 2) twisted it to make it more to his favor

i will not dispute that. perhaps he did. we really wouldn't know. so hearing from Hyun and Eun-Young (pls excuse me if i spelled their name wrong) would be just as wonderful.
