1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The Dollshe side of the Dollshe/Dollmore copy issue *translated statement page 27*

Nov 21, 2006

    1. Gayle was not saying that, I did not take it that way, I took it as, there could be a possibility which there could have that mr. dollshe would do that. That is all. Possibility.

Anyways, how do you know if the letter was telling the whole truth.
      We just don't know.

And yes, hearing both sides from both companies would really be helpful.

I am not trying to be rude.

    2.
    3. No, no you're not being rude. No offence taken either.

    4. ok I'm done with this.

he said, she said...blah blah blah

No matter the outcome or how many pile up to throw stones on which side, I am happy with my doll, happy with my choice, and happy with the transaction which lead to him living here.

I just can't bring myself to indulge in the speculation any more. Therefore this will be the last post I make in this thread....(not that I have said much)

I have decided I will NOT be taking Trevor apart to search for the tell tale signs of his accused bastard birth....lol.... If he must be an outcast, then so be it. It won't be the first time one of my charactors has had to live with a dark cloud.

I don't care about how he was made. I don't care about who is accusing who. There is nothing that will make me adore him less than I do right now...actually...all this controversy has encouraged me to hug him close and pet his worried brow...made me love him even more.

I hope that when he is seen in my stories he will be welcomed by the readers....though by then you may not recognize him.

and am now going back to playing with my dolls.

    5. Amen to that Pam... he's your doll, you decide what you do with him. I love Kyle too... I'll check the new body tomorrow and the new head... to see what the differences are. I hope Kyle's head survives this... cause I really love his face.

Off to play with dollies too

    6. Be happy with your boy, Pam - once he's in your hands it doesn't matter where he came from or how he was made - he's yours and you should love him. Let the controversy blow past you...

    7. TO: PamSD

pls do not take offense. and NO ONE SHOULD BASH YOU for having that doll! i mean you didn't know first of all anyway

even with all this, if you love your doll, GOOD FOR YOU! and you SHOULD! it's NOT the dolls fault. in fact IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT EITHER!!! if ppl are sending flames over pm, shame on them! XD

please take no offense, i think mostly ppl are angry at Dollmore's policy and the sculptor. more like the sculptor anyway.

so yeah, I don't bash ppl for having dollzones or forever (whatever that company name is. it was before i collected dolls so i dunno) if they like that doll and bought it, or bought it even knowing it, GOOD FOR THEM! that's how it SHOULD BE

even Mr.Dollshe have said, as long as you know, it's fine. and i agree. if you love your doll, you love your doll. end of story.

please don't let this entire company vs company drama make you stop loving your doll. because your doll is indeed a beautiful thing T.T

    8. I completely agree with Steph, Pam. And with your approach to all this.

I personally would just like to know the truth. All this mudslinging and conjecture IMHO, has been super unfortunate. It would just be nice to have a real set of facts and be able to put the controversy to rest.

    9. second it!
      And third what steph said...

let's wait the results of the... sue? (is sue the name?? O.o')

      Who are we to judge?

    10. A reminder to stay polite.

Do not say "Sorry if this sounds rude, but..."
Find a way to say it that is not rude. Or if there is no way to say it without being rude, please consider if it adds anything to the on-topic discussion. Thank you!

    11. We're the people the doll is marketed to, we're the people who own the dolls and know them intimately, we have all the right in the world to judge. I think doll owners and creators know more about BJDs than any lawyer or judge, so regardless of what the courts say, I'll believe the same thing I do now.

    12. We can have our opinions on the subject, but we are not to decide if they should stop selling or not.
This is up to the court.
All we can do is wait for the result....

    13. It was mentioned earlier in the thread that I originally based my Mau head on an Obitsu vinyl head -- I just wanted to clear up any confusion about it.

Mau was originally intended to be a modification for personal use, not a commercially-produced doll. I used an Obitsu vinyl head as a base because I needed an appropriately-sized hollow object -- I could have used a tennis ball instead, but this was my first major modification project and I wanted to be sure that it would fit on an Obitsu body :>

In the artist's doll thread about Mau, it was always very clear that I'd started with an existing head, and there was some discussion about whether or not that was okay . . . since every centimeter of the interior and exterior of the head wound up being modified, it was agreed that it was okay for me to sell a limited run (since I'd only used the Obitsu head to provide an understructure, and once my resin junk mold was made of that head, worked from the resin from that point forward, modifying all portions of the head.)

If I'd intended on making the head for sale (especially in large quantities such as the Dollmore Model boys), I would've just gone ahead and used a tennis ball . . . I only wound up selling a short run of heads because I had a number of private inquiries about them while I was making them.

If you look at the interior and exterior of Mau vs. an Obitsu head, there are no longer any similarities other than general shape.

But, yeah -- that was a personal project on a very small scale, and I'd quite honestly have done it differently if I'd intended them for sale from the start . . . a major doll company should DEFINITELY know better :/

    14. Oh my God. I feel so bad for Dollshe right now. That's just too cruel. Dollmore's taken it too far. =>x<=

    15. I am really glad you've made this decision; I don't want to see Trevor taken apart so soon after coming home just for this! I was looking at his lovely pictures and he has such an anxious expression to me, and no wonder! It makes me so happy to hear people say they love their dolls no matter what and I am sure most people here feel the same! And I'll be excited to see how he transforms :aheartbea

    16. and becuase it is up to the court in the end I don't see why such madness and hatred is being flug around the board between doll owners. I understand the sharing and voicing of opinions, but when it is in the end up to the court's decision why keep drilling the subject into each other? In the end there will be a court case, a verdict will be decided, and then something will or will not happen and there will be many people happy and many people furious and even some people indifferent. I had originally decided I wasn't going to say anything, but is all this drama going on worth it? I mean maybe if it were up to us as a big vote or something, but when it is not up to us and has to be decided in a court of law, why is there so much drama between doll owners going on here? Despite what people may think people are getting unnecessarily hurt, angry and aggitated over this when it is all being left down to some judges decision. I'm not saying let it die, but the subject does not need so much drama.

    17. erm shouldn;t this thread be locked until the relevant parties has well solved it?? i mean right now wht happening is people throwing erm insults all over the place, i do trust that dollshe and dollmore will resolve it...

well for me a copy or not, it seems dollmore has decided to market their model boy and stop selling dollshe dolls becos of conflicts of interest.....

so yeah dollmore has good faceup but as someone who like simplicity i like tensiya [shameless plug?] but ya if u want to get nice faceup try getting a blank doll and commission ppl :D :D

other then that, the pictures and things i have been reading point to that dollmore is guilty... i mean look @ the hands and the rest of the inner marking there's no way to look the same and not have used reference from dollshe :(

looking the exactly the same on the inside and having hands looking almost the same is well.... a copy... and yeah they may feel and weigh different [dirrent kind of resin?] but if they look similar u really got no case :D :D

oh well hope this gets resolved... mean while i wait for the 2 bodies to arrive here for me to scutinized them... wakakakakaka

    18. Let me state for the record (and those that don't know me, which is like... everyone) I am not a doll owner. I like to think of myself as a doll "dreamer"! Hopefully, though, I can express myself equally and perhaps my opinion will not sound ignorant or prejudice against one side or the other.

First and foremost I would like to state, like many before me, this issue will only really be solved in an "official" capasity through a long court process, unless the two sides can come to some sort of agreement. Regardless of what happens Dollmore, as a name and company, must now and for the foreseeable future deal with untrusting consumers.

On the issue of "copying" as I have only ever held one Hound and as stated I do not currently own a doll of my own, I do not feel it is appropriate for me to "take a side." I will say that as a well known company with what seems like a rather large consumer base it is very surprising Dollmore would attempt something like this. My opinion is Dollmore may have allowed pride and or greed to play a part. Allow me to explain.

After the sucessful run of their Model Type girl and all the inqueries about them releasing a boy type, Dollmore announced the release of their boy even though it was nowhere near ready. As the release date continued to be pushed back, and fans continued to anticipate Kyle, Dollmore may have felt the pressure to release something, this "pressure" I'm sure was doubly applied to the sculpter and their account book. I have no doubt that if any "copying" or "modification" was done, everyone knew. Kyle is released while they work on the real Model Type boy. Mr. Dollshe was given a doll in hopes of "passing inspection" (if he is impressed our customers will be impressed) and he finds something to suspect.

Mr. Dollshe probably called Dollmore with his concerns (remember this is all in my 'what if' world) but was given a 'beat-about-the-bush" type of answer. A worried Dollmore would have consulted their lawyers, especially if Mr. Dollshe began to make legal threats. Okay, here I went to my grandpa Jim and asked how he advises his clients. (He works for the county schools as an insurance negotiator, and there have been a number of suits against schools. His job is too complicated to explain.) His first advice is DO NOT communicate with the other party or any third party at all. Yes, it may make you look bad, but in the long run it saves yourself plenty of grief. This maybe the reason Dollmore seems so "shady" to some.

All of this is an "if they copyed" version and even if they didn't copy it still may be going down in a similar fashion.

Either way, fans of both companies are hurt. Mr. Dollshe is probably feeling betrayed by a company he felt friendship with. Dollmore will never get their reputation back. Fans of both are emotionally connected because the dolls they own and love bring this out.

No matter how upset one may get they have to remember someone from the other side is equally upset and not belittle their emotional investment in this controversy.

I have read EVERY post here on DOA about this and varying personal journals and board posts before I commented. I've probably regurgitated a lot, and for this I apoligize.

I LOVE Dollshe and Dollmore is rising in my heart. Like many I believe this could have been handled more professionally but I am happy it was made known because this is something fans needed to be made aware of. Though my personal respect for both companies may have wavered I don't love them any less. In fact I feel for them and (yeah it's sappy) I hope they continue to do what they do best. Even if they never work together again I don't see why they shouldn't move forward and use this as a lesson.

    19. A few things:

People should buy a doll because they love it. They shouldn't let fears of DoA shunning them or that they won't get comments on the Gallery holding them back. Guess what, some popular dolls don't get comments in the Gallery, so don't worry about it! ;)

The courts and/or Dollmore and Dollshe are the ones that are going to ultimately figure out what is going on between themselves. It may go to court, or it may settle out of court before then as well. I have a feeling that with the new body and head release that Dollmore is doing that this problem may just solve itself.

The Tensiya issue... I truthfully feel that they could care less about Dollmore's business and they just want the truth out there and helping their friend out. It seemed to be like a conspiracy theory that was suggested to us almost as a distraction. As Sab, Pam and a number of other people have stated, Tensiya has nothing to do with this.

Perhaps Dollmore can provide pictures of the inside of the dolls? I realize we would have to trust them not to Photoshop them (as we trusted Tensiya, we can trust them), but at this point in time, we are all pontificating and Dollmore's side has basically sounded a bit confused to me. I think many of us would like to believe Dollmore if Dollmore would like to provide proof. At this point in time, because of the core mold makers marks, I have to say that the base was a Hound.

And whether the President knew or not, I don't think is the issue. The President is ultimately responsible. I think she (right?) needs to apologize to Mr. Kiyong if that was the case and come to a mutual agreement with him.

Just my two yen...for what it's worth. *_*

    20. So if someone admits right out that they sculpted over a pre-existing object they can go ahead and sell it without asking premission from the sculpter of the original without there being a problem?

I mean, maybe it is just my personal ignorance on the situation, but I really don't understand the difference...

So if Dollmore said "by the way, we took Dollshe's body, sculpted over and cut into it to make it look different on the outside" then ran it as a, say, limited run of 30, it would be a different situation?

      I am honestly confused... :(
