And yet, Gayle, there are many similarities in the moulds.
Same mistakes on the inside, same hand positions, same upper torso, perfectly interchangeable joint. How am I not supposed to think that Dollmore based their model doll off of Dollshe? Really, am I supposed to be looking at the picture through rose coloured glasses?

Ehh. I hate leaping into this one. But, as I still want a Kyle doll (I do like the body much more than the dollshe ones), I'll offer up a much better comparing link with images than the ones Mr Dollshe is offering. Personally? Yes, they are similar. But, so are most of the bjd out there. You can only be but so varied in these types of body sculpts. Anyway. If Dollmore is going to stop producing Kyle -- wow man...the ones that are sold already are ultra ultra rare!

 

I know this will get heat from Tensiya fans.
The Dollshe statement with pictures that Sabriell posted was done by Tensiya.
Han Mi Sun, the owner of Tensiya told Dollmore that she will post
the pictures to tear down Dollmore.
So Dollmore knows that Tensiya is behind all of this.

Dollmore is preparing for legal rights today to defend themselves.
Dollshe has no patent for his products as far as I know also in the US,
if you don't have patent, it is ok for anyone to copy-if that is what
ended up happened-it is legal.

It is not yet aproved that Dollmore copied but as a buyer of these expensive dolls, I wouldn't care whether it is copy or not, I just want my expensive doll to be well funtional & has the looks I want.
My opinion as a collector...

 

Yeah, I wonder if people will be able to sell or buy them! I think a few mods have stated their point of view already and judging on past behavior I feel they may get banned if Dollshe wins.

 

I hope Kim Ki Yong can get this resolved, it's really a shame when these things happen.

 

Not true. As I've already stated, both North and South Korea are signatories to the Berne Convention - as is the US - which states that copyright laws in the country of origin apply internationally in the event of alleged plagiarism such as this. A Korean patent would be just as valid.

However Dollmore is not a US company so your point is moot.

I am sorry, I have been following all of this, and Kim is not being reasonable, nor realistic.

kim has HUGE fanbase.
Maybe he should have checked in with us (Houndcalling) before he went nuts, on hearsay from anothet "supplier".

I still love Kim's art:, but I now, have ZERO respect for his business sense.

And honestly gayle if I took one of your designs and made improvements on it and put it for sale, would you have thought rationally? Would you not be driven by emotion first as most humans are?

his is a crying shame, there is added poseability in the dollmore boy, and such a beautiful line to his legs, and that little bit of extra height that I adore, which have been seriously tempting me to get one to "upgrade" my Dollshe boy (who incidentally is a glorious poser and can do the hipshot, and bent legged poses Kyle does, and is not wired) from the internal evidence I can see that the body appears to me to have originally come from a dollshe body, but it is now significantly different. I am torn on this issue and will hold my opinion. I do not love my Dollshe boy less or think the model boy is less beautiful over this issue.

these photos have shown, however, that I am seriously unlikely to do any head swapping due to a problem in the resin matching, which is also a shame.

 

But Dollmore didn't copy the molds, I have had Kyle iin my hands. he a DOLLMORE Model type doll.

He is not built like a Dollshe (again, I own 3 Dollshe boys so know what I amn talking about)

Kyle IS a Model, and he has the strengths and flaws of that engineering.

I will say again, no one ever thought he was a Dollshe boy

 

Perhaps some of us need to take a deep breath and one step back for a while.

The idea of "copying" is so repugnant to artists and most of those in the ball-joint doll community, that this thread is bound to become heated. At this point, what we do know is that Mr. Dollshe himself believes his work has been copied. If tenisya alerted him to the fact, then so be it. Tensiya does have an unique relationship with the DollShe company.

Quoting and responding in a flippant and sarcastic way to individual posts will result in this thread being locked.

 

The truth is that the fight is more like between Tensiya & Dollmore.
Posting on boards, phone calls to Dollmore, is all from her.
We will all find out sooner later so lets not jump into the conclusion
that one side is right over the other.

 

They aren't saying he is a Dollshe boy, they are saying his body sculpt was significantly influenced by Dollshe but with improvments made to Dollshe's faults.

This is just summarizing the info, not my opinion. I'm trying to remain neutral but I see the influence.

 

Let's avoid that if we can (locking).

Sometimes it can help for people to be able to share, and talk things out.
