1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The First/Best Advice You Ever Got

May 10, 2009

    1. I don't remember my FIRST piece of advice, but I have a few good pieces that have stuck with me. ^_^

      "Research, research, research. Even the cheaper dolls are an investment."

      "Don't be afraid to 'play' with your dolls, they're MADE to be posed and moved around." (Or else they wouldn't have those awesome joints xD)

      "Never use oil-based paints, pastels, or other supplies for faceup work. And NEVER EVER use Sharpie markers, or markers of any kind really." (You'll permanently stain the resin or vinyl of your doll. D: )

      "It's easy to become addicted." (Heck yes it is! <3)

    2. Still no luck with the dumb printer, but I have some time today to reply properly to the newest posties.

      mysoultokeep – Thanks for the post. That advice about the rubber band is something I had heard mentioned around the forum somewhere, but I’d never realized it was because a wig cap could stain. It seems funny to me that they’d make something for a doll that has a risk of staining it in the first place though.

      Some Say Wise – Ha ha ha! What a great story, thanks for sharing~!

      beachpainter – Oh no... That’s unfortunate. Well, at least it isn’t doing anything to damage it other than being shiny, right?

      djkhimtaka – I totally agree with you that BJDs are addicting... I don't even have one yet and I already want more than I ever thought I would initially. Funny how things work like that. On a side note, your username was so similar to one of my random letter passwords that I had to do a double take! Ha ha ha.

    3. Double post. My apologies.

    4. Never, ever, ever let eye putty get on a wig. It will stick and ruin the wig instantly

    5. Well, the most useful and sound advice I first heard was 'get a magic sponge to clean stains on your dolls', then comes the advice bout UV rays and dolls' allergies to oil products.

    6. You WILL get kicked.

      That is all. xD

    7. The first:
      "Play with it! It's a doll, not a newborn baby!"

      The most recent:
      "Patience! The waiting period said 40 working days and 40 working days -means- 40 working days! Whining about it wont make it come faster!"

      What can I say, I want my Puki! ^^;;

      The best:
      "Put that thing away, there are guests coming over!"

      Yes, rude, i know, but trust me on this, when you have 11 hyper twelve year old boys running around with friecrackers and paintball guns, i was more than happy to put my boy safetly away in my closet. XD;;

    8. The Lacy Rose - You know, that would sound like something that might be common sense, but the more I think about it... I'm just the type of person who would let something like that happen.

      Nats - Another mention of the magic sponge! You'd think they were sponsoring the forum or something. Tee hee. I wonder if those things are good for cleaning other things--like what it says it does. *ponders*

      pawpaw - Oh geez. *laughs*

      InvadingStargazer - 11 kids running around with that stuff?! I'm surprised you are living to tell the tale to be honest. My word...
