      Elbow joints will be conventional ShinyDOLL's ones. I think it's the best for BJD, even if it's single joints, as it's outlook, when bent, is smooth and beautiful. The resin color will be standard shinydoll color, that mean, normal flesh, and white( ivory).
      Boy... hoo.... For me, doll=girl. I would like to enjoy girl's fasshion. And as I am a man, I do not have interests in boys, and do not want to see men's body in front of me....u,,u.. I am always so sorry to say that..,,,having many requests to do it...........:sorry:sorry:sorry

    3. I definately think those are the prettiest knees I've ever seen. Now you must see if you can get the string to behave and allow her to bend like that :D I'm sure you can, but I think that's what you were talking about above, how much slot to make, etc... so she sits well? I still wish the elbow would be the same ... but then again... I have seen lovely elbows that worked very well even so they were not double jointed :)

      I think you'll hate me for suggesting this, but have you thought of making a 3 piece torso? If you look at this picture, you can see, when done well, as I suspect you can do, it can be extremely sexy! look toward the bottom pictures, wow, I just love this body!

    4. I just checked the changes and I have to say... Yay! Shin-san, I hope you enjoy your drinking for joy. It's good to know the knees worked as you planned and I look forward to seeing the adjustments you make to her.

      (I am a dork, I know, for checking this every day. Sorry.)

      Also, a random thought... elbows actually can't lay as they do when double jointed. I'm looking at mine and it goes pretty far but it isn't like the knee, where the calf can lay against the thigh... So I don't think double-jointed elbows are that great in terms of realism. However, if they can go as far as human elbows, then they are good!

      Thank you for the comments on the new knee double joints. I was sure the design would offer the best knee joints, if there is not miss production, having outlook and stability at the same time.

      When I started BJD making what I decided myself was I make dolls which have comfortabilities to handle. And I thought it is given by stability of joints. And, other mission of shinydoll is to stand or to sit calmly at the corner of the room "steadily". Not doing acrobatic poses, but natural ones, watching the owner, the family,and the room etc.. All functions of shinydolls are dedicated to the purpose. I think doll fans have noticed that shinydolls' head sculpts are rather serious. These are also for the purpose. Shinydolls feel the same feeling with the owners. happy, sad, angry, and sorrow.

      The picuture you introduced was very much impressive to look. But I felt some trickes of them. Pictures showed what they can, and they do not shows what then cannot do. I also see they do not have stabilities or confortability with the design of their joints. I think the pictures show what they temprary do without stabilities.
      But I would like to expand the abilities of shinydolls, as you suggested. I think it would need time until I have confidents that the design/plan surely have stabilities and confidents. It's ShinyDOLL's dolls. It's indispensable.
      I think it's not known well, but the head and the body functions are prepared for shinydolls to be indispensable existance of the owners, in my brain.
      These all thinking came from the fact I was saved by Volk's BJDs when I was seriously depressed. All my doll workes are designed for giving the same effects for who need them.

      I really hope my insufficient English is explaing what I want to say.:sweat:sweat

      Yes, present elbow-joints can not do as humans do.
      It's a hard decision which to chose, outlook or function.
      I personaly hate the look of elbow double joints.
      I never want to see such a constructon in my girls arms......
      But I have to find out some idea which fills both outlook and functions.
      It also needs my confident that the design has confortability/stability as I wrote in the previous post.
      Shinydolls should be rigid at any pose.:sweat:sweat:sweat

    7. Shin-san, what I meant to say is that the Thaasa II body (as seen in this picture) can achieve the natural elbow movement close to a normal human's movement and it does so with one joint. It does not look as awkward as a double joint, which most companies use to achieve the same motion. I prefer the single joint because it looks more natural but most single joints can only achieve a ninety degree angle. I love the look of the Thaasa II elbow joint better than a double jointed elbow.

      I was trying to point out (apparently I failed, sorry, I will try to explain better) that the double jointed elbow has a strange look to it that doesn't resemble human elbows as much as the single joint does... but like I said, some companies use the double joint to have their doll's elbows perform like a human's does.

      I think if you can imitate the single elbow joint motion as you did in the Thaasa II then you should be fine in terms of elbows.

      My present conclusion is the Thaasa type single elbow joint is the best to chose for shinydoll girls.
      I am always dreaming shinygirls wearing no-sleeve-outfit and exposing its natural elbow.

    9. As a Shinydoll fan, I have to say that the great appeal of Shinydolls is that they are not an attempt to be another doll. They are created from scratch, as you can see with Fragille, as a unique product with a natural pose and beautiful slim bodyline. You can't get the look and feel of a Shinydoll from other companies.

      The Minifee you showed does not show the natural body line that Shinydolls do. A human body cannot bend within the ribcage, but that Minifee can. Doi Shin's dolls bend naturally at the waist, below the ribcage, where a real human can bend.

      I'm finding it very hard to write down what I mean here. I hope it's not sounding weird. What I mean is, there's a natural feeling to Shinydolls which would be lost if Doi Shin went mad and started copying other dolls! I trust him never to do that ^^

      Elbows: I agree that double elbows can spoil the look of the arm, so these single elbows are better. I also love my Akali's arms, they are so good at holding any angle! Very useful for making animations ^^

      You are true. I myself has been thinking about enlarging the hands. I would like to make the upper and lower arms slim first, and determine the right size of the hands. As it's ruff sculping now, enlarging needs only less than 30 minutes.

      Shin-san, I think the top torso looks like it slid off of the bottom half.
      (sorry if I used the wrong.. 'san'.. if there's a better word, let me know!)

      Fragille seems to pose very well and can balance easily. That pose is amazing!
      But really, the torso looks unnatural. The body line is not quite right with the top torso in that position. She has too great a range of motion there.. her top half is so tiny.

      I like the tilt in her head though. She's looking cuter everytime. Her feet and little toes especially.
      I just think the torso should fit together better.

      (I hope you don't hate critique from an amateur.. @_@;; )

      It's because upper torso was not only tilt, but also twisted.
      It's inescapable for all bjds when twisted, as the cross-section of the torso is not circular. The movement of this joint is very much steadily as other shinydoll's joints, anyway.
      I do not find anything which should be changed, watching present Fragille's waist, as there always should be comfromise between sculpts and functions.
      (I personally think, it's far better than super ugly elbow double joints, which are exposed to peoples eyes when bent.)

      I as so Happy that KIKI is still supported.
      Her first production lot is out now, having some NG ones, with bubbles or spots.
      But, as ShinyDOLL has introduced PRESSURE CASTING TOOL, ShinyDOLL can cast heads with nice quality. So,it means ShinyDOLL can offer any old head, with some higher price spent for silicone mold material.
      "Real" Christmas meems to be very happy and entertaining.^^
      I would like to spend some days around Christmas some day.

      One is SHIOLI, elder sister of SAOLI or KAOLI.
      Other one is HIKALI, younger sister of AKALI.

      I said "Fragille body is wearing KAOLI head".
      But I realized that it is not completely same as Pricco's KAOLI.
      She is different virsion of Pricco head while developping Pricco heads.
      As she has been of the Fragille body, I fond love with her.
      As you know, Fragille body was developed with her character.

      HIKALI is literally younger sister of AKALI.
      her head is small, wearing 7 inches, but the eye size is the same. It's 12mm.

      Shioli is Kaoli's look-alike, but a little bit matured and sharp.
      Hikali is Akali's look-alike, but a little bit smart.
      Yes, Shinydoll can offer any head, unless the original sculpt is not damaged.
      If it's head-only-order, the price will be 3000JPY higher than regular heads, for the cost of Silicone material.

      In case of body, ShinyDOLL orders casting to other casting company, where , I believe, UNOA is also casted.
      The company makes the coloured regin material, according to the colour-sample, blending paint-colours. So, it's very easy, in a way, just saying "please cast with this colour".
      But other thing is number of production for each colour.
      ShinyDOLL does not want to have so much colour variation.
      Three colours might be maximum for the first lot of Fragile.
      I wonder white colour is still needed by doll fans???
      But, these colours would be for the first production.
      Regular flesh colour.
      Regular white colour.
      Minifee, Delf Shouldoll colour.

      If tan is added, regular white would be killed.
      Colour samples are needed for non regular colours.

      I am expecting the arm to be more posable, and more elegant.
      If the development failed, there still remains the older ones. ^^);
      you can check it, by today's photo. ^^)

    19. I love tan dolls, but the only problem with them is that you really don't have hope of hybriding usually, and you should buy the whole doll at once, as tan differs from batch to batch. Maybe Shin-san would consider doing limited runs of tan color at some point?
