1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The Government Dolls - What do you do with YOUR Tax Return?

Jan 25, 2012

    1. [paragraph]sakuraharu Thank you for pointing out the terminology. As a former tax preparer, it's one of those things that gets on my nerves.[/paragraph] [paragraph]I didn't get much money back in my refund this year, since I only had one seasonal job last year that didn't come anywhere near even Standard Deduction levels, but the money I did get back went mostly into my savings account for a doll, and replacing some shoes that died on me. So that counts, right?[/paragraph][paragraph]But yeah, as someone said before, as long as you're spending the rest of your money to cover your expenses, your tax return should be used for whatever you want. If it's saving for emergencies like car repairs (i.e. Nest Egg) or going towards something a little more extravagant (Doll, TV/appliances, redoing a room in your house), well that's your choice. I can tell you a lot of people who have kids use it to get their kids new clothing around this time of year, while there's other people who don't manage their money well and need it to pay rent, so, yeah. It's a matter of knowing what you need versus what you want.[/paragraph]

    2. Ok....so my taxes were MUCH better than expected, and I got back a lot more than just enough for a Taco Bell lunch. lol

I ended up getting a DIM body for Mike off the MP, a wig for Heath and the rest going towards Ashley's layaway. :D best tax refund ever!!!

    3. I was thinking use my government refund for buy my first BJD but I will replace my Ipod because I can't live without music. maybe if I don't take all for my ipod, i will put the rest for a doll

    4. I used my refund this year to buy my OnlyDoll ChiYao. And next year I will buy more dolls with it. :)

    5. Ah, no. Mine goes back to the Fed Gov to pay off my student loans, something I will likely still be doing when I am 89, if I live that long. I wish I could spend that on dolls, but no, it's the only way I can pay the interest on the stupid things every year.

    6. Next year mine will be going towards Dollism I hope.

    7. I am self employed and single, so I end up paying every year -no refunds for me! So sad....:(
