1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The Hobby or A hobby?

Sep 17, 2012

    1. Sewing for other kinds of dolls is my main hobby. I primarily make all my money for BJD stuff by sewing AG sized clothes for instance.

    2. I've admired bjds for a long time, but never had the funds to buy one until recently. Before I officially joined the hobby, I took up cosplay and sewing. Once I actually got my dolls though, the sewing and prop making only served as a helpful outlet to saving my wallet from going completely dry.

    3. I have too many hobbies/collecting hobbies.
Normalish hobbies- draw a lot, read a lot, write stories, go out taking photos, like making things for BJD's and others.
Collecting hobbies is even wider - comic books, figures, trading cards, BJD things, string dolls, and a lot more.
Classing this as my main hobby probably wouldn't be accurate as I by no means actually have the money to make it my main hobby. I think above everything else, I collect comics the most. But... It certainly is a hobby I hope to get more involved in.

    4. This is definitely "A" hobby for me, since I have a million :(. That being said, it meshes well with almost all of my other craft based hobby's so it's not something completely random where I have to start from scratch to build up the full hobby (i.e. I already have sewing machines and everything that goes with that, etc.)

    5. Well, getting into BJDs was pretty hard because I have so many interests screaming for attention. I collect My Little Ponies, different language DVDs, play video games (rekindled my dormant love for them while waiting for my first doll, actually), and would probably get into collecting Barbies and Transformers if I had the room for them. I also like to draw, but sadly right now it's not something I do on a regular basis (just not inspired, I guess). Once, just for fun, I decided to adapt K.I.T.T. from the Knight Rider TV series into a Transformer, and even did some schematics detailing how the engineering on a toy based on my design would work. That was a pretty interesting experience!

    6. I tend to only deal with one hobby at a time, and it's been a while since I had one. So for now, it's 'the hobby'.

    7. I have a few different hobbies, so it's definitely just one of many for me. My other "main" hobby would be stained glass and lampworking (think tiny glassblowing ;)) and both of those are fairly expensive unfortunately. So BJD stuff is just easier for me to do right now.

    8. This is actually my first real hobby o-o but I hope to get into cosplay soon! And I had a small venture into bento making but I got tired of making the same recipes again and again due to a lack of available ingredients, so I just stopped. Oh, and I also collect DVDs but so far my shelf is small since I lost everything in a house fire last year.

But by far, my favorite is BJDs!
