1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. The Hobby or A hobby?

Sep 17, 2012

    1. I's just a hobby for me. I also play video games and I enjoy various crafts. My first priority money wise is video games, then BJDs, then crafts. ;p
I like to have my BJDs sit next to me while I play games though hehe.

    2. I have always been an avid hobbyist, but I would have to say that BJDs are THE hobby for me. There is the searching and collecting itself that has always fascinated me; there is the aesthetic work of art, display building and sewing; and it relates to the art of writing and character planning. I love curating my collections, and there's always plenty to work on and do with BJDs which I greatly enjoy. I also love finding inspiration from others in the BJD community. BJDs bring out so much creativity in their owners...they are the ultimate muses!

    3. I have too many hobbies. BJD is just one of many, and unfortunately because of that, I tend to rotate my interests. One week I'll be heavily into video games, one week it'll be something online that eats up my time, THEN I'll come back around to BJD's, but the interest dwindles as soon as I get somewhere. In the dictionary next to Jack of all trades but master of none, there's my picture. :sweat

    4. I would say that BJD is one of my hobbies. I also collect other dolls and toys, sew, knit, enjoy photography and gardening. My spare time is very limited so I tend move between my different interests as the mood and inspiration comes and goes.

    5. I hesitate to call anything THE hobby, so for me it's one hobby among others. I'm capricious, I go from one thing to another all the time, but I have certain hobbies that I always come back to and enjoy even if it might not be the main 'thing' for me right there and then. BJDs are one of those 'sticks-with-me' hobbies I have.

    6. I enjoy horse back riding, drawing and writing, so I can't call it THE hobby. But I definitely spend a lot of time on this one, and it's one of my more important ones. ^^

    7. For me, bjds are one among many hobbies. Fortunately, at bjds, most of interests intersect. I dabble in digital art and photography and am learning to sew so my bjds are the perfect learning tool for everything else that I enjoy doing.

    8. I would consider it just "a hobby". I also like to make cosplay ( I love to sew )/ go to cons, and scrapbook, two other costly hobbies. I would have to say that bjds are not on the top of my hobby list but i really do enjoy them.

    9. one of many hobbies for me. cosplays, cars, mlp, rc cars and the list goes on but after owning my doll i found its my priorty hobby will to be fair its more than a hobby to me. cars were my big thing but now its like i could buy that or i could buy / make for my doll or buy another doll ^^. dolls a hobby no more an addiction in the good way XD

    10. I have multiple hobbies but BJD's are probably my main hobby. I play games, write fanfiction/Roleplay, and watch anime all the time but I spend most of my time on my dolls. Is listening to music a hobby? If it is then I guess my BJD hobby and my music hobby are equal :sweat.

    11. its one of several hobbies.
i like shopping (yes i consider this a hobby) drawing, decorating, ceramics and collecting miniatures and anime figures.
i must say though, this hobby has definitely changed how I look at figures now. I guess it made me pay a lot more attention to details like bad paint jobs and such. I also used to think that 130$ figma was expensive. now, not so much lol.

    12. I think, for me BJD-dolls are a hobby, but dolls in general are the hobby. I like different dolls.

    13. For me it's just another hobby. I cosplay, travel, play and collect video games, read collect manga and comic books and draw taditional and non traditional art.

    14. I agree. I love my BJD's but also collect living dead dolls, krypt kiddies, little apple dolls and pullips so collecting dolls in general is more of THE hobby. Aside from dolls I enjoy photography I guess although I'm just starting..

    15. I tend to phase in and out of hobbies, but I think I'll be stuck in the doll rut for a good portion of my life. I really like the idea and customization and detail work, cool beans. Other hobbies include writing, reading, drawing, knife-flipping, and a in and out thing with crocheting and the particularly detailed anime figures.

@Moonbabe dude a $130 figma is super expensive regardless lol

    16. It is also one of several other hobbies for me too. I like doing other unrelated crafts, playing games, drawing, reading and writing too. :kitty1:kitty1:kitty1

    17. I have many hobbies. But I guess it won't be my main hobby after my doll arrives. My heart still belongs to video games and figures. But of course, I'll give plenty of my time to my future doll. :3

    18. I sew, write, draw, read, watch movies, take photo's, discuss history...and I collect bjd's. I don't tend to have a main hobby, just a lot of hobbies that keep me busy.

    19. Its one of many hobbies for me, but at one point I had to give up one of my passions and ultimate loves (my horse, :( so this helps fill that loss… I have always loved dolls but creativity has always been one of my big loves so this hobby expands on that!! :)

    20. A Hobby. I love my BJD dolls but they're not the only dolls I collect and I have a lot of other hobbies, mostly craft related that I like to do too. I'm also big on certain kinds of video games so just "a" hobby albeit the one I usually spend the most $$$ on.
