Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. 1. Sure, I always do.

  2. Yes, I do but not often.

  3. Umm…Just sometimes (few times).

  4. Haha…Just once or twice is enough.

  5. No…But I consider to do in the future.

  6. No way!

    1. I take my heaviest soom boys with me to 99% of Meetups :)

    2. My largest is 72cm, my Soom Ender/Dikadoll hybrid. He's been to a couple of meets, but I'd rather not take him, not only because he's huge and heavy, but he's also my most expensive, my grail and has so much expensive, custom jewelry and clothing, as well as blushing that took me two months to get right, so I'm just too scared something will get lost or damaged.

My MSD, yoSD and tiny pet are easiest for me to handle, but I'm most bonded to my SDs, so I normally only take one or two to public meets, maybe 3-4 to house meets. If I'm doing outdoor/travel photoshoots, one is about all I can handle of any size. I like to be able to grab them up and go in an instant, if I need to (say pets off a leash, wild children, creepy strangers, etc show up and I feel my doll might be threatened).

    3. My heaviest doll is probably my Chalco - he's a 65cm Super Gem with huge fantasy parts (giant hooves, but also giant thighs). I haven't taken him out for photos yet, but I do plan to eventually. I don't think it will be too bad - I'll be putting him in the car and driving out to where I want to take photos (bush/mountain area, without lots of people), and will have my boyfriend's help (he'll help me by carrying my camera and tripod).

I would never take Chalco to a meet-up or anything that involved a lot of walking around in the city, though. Not due to heaviness, but just due to how unwieldy he is. People generally don't appreciate being whacked with giant heavy boxes, and it's almost impossible to walk through a crowded area with a 70cm-long box without accidentally hitting someone along the way.

    4. I wonder which is your largest and heaviest doll, you ever have? How large and heavy is he/she? And will you take him/her with you to travel around?

My heaviest doll would be either by Soom Megagem Shoshon(65cm, 6.65 lbs without his cloak and steampunk outfit), or my Dollshe Bernard with Soom Chalco hooves(70cm, ? lbs(he actually feels heavier than Shoshon)), or my Dragondoll TangYao(72cm, 8.81 lbs), all of whom I have carried around with me at either Detour or Ren Fest or just to the mall when I've been prop-shopping. I have 8 SDs(most 70cm or taller and on the muscular/thicker resin side) which is almost twice the amount of my smaller dolls, and I do like to carry them around more because they feel more solid to me. Carrying around one of my MSDs or Faeries I would fear to drop or break them without realizing it and always be on hyper alert of someone trying to snatch them. Or a small child thinking they were a toy and trying to play with them. My bigger boys it's easier to keep track off, especially when one is aware of the weight on their arm, and less likely for a small child to be able to try and take from me or mess with. My bigger concern is whether or not take my tan dolls out and about on sunny days.
And eventually I will have an 80cm Immortality of Soul body for my Raurencio Ryon head, he will be my giant broody boy <3

Although, when I was traveling in an airplane I did bring my 60cm with me for the sake of him being easier to fit in my carry-on case.

    5. I'm a tiny fan by nature but I do own a pair of MSD size dolls (possible third on the way). I would never take them along to a meet mostly because of their ears. They are both anthro dolls and my bunny boy in particular has a pair of long, huge, and extremely delicate ears that are a nightmare to package properly. That and the fact that their current customization would be a royal pain in the rear to repair deters me from traveling them more than the seasonal pilgrimage to and from University.

Purse size dolls are way more fun to go places with. The larger ones no way. I can't wait to own a permanent living space so I can stop repacking my dolls. :sweat

    6. I have three dolls so far. I think my heaviest is Aaron, my 66 cm Akagi Doll Roosevelt. He's probably not the heaviest doll around but so far he feels the heaviest that I have. My other two boys feel kind of heavy but Aaron has made my arm sore.

    7. I've taken my 70cm boy to a meet up before and let me tell you....
It was one of the most stressful things I've done.
I was constantly worrying that be was going to get messed up or that I might knock him into something.
It also didn't help that I didn't have a proper carrying case....

    8. For preparing my dolls to travel aboard with me during August, tonight I did a small experiment... I put Ren (DF-H 62 cm) and Fayy (MD Mir 43 cm) in to my back bag which I designed to carry dolls especially (can put a SD and a MSD in sitting position), and also their clothing, shoes, etc...The total weight is 5.96 kg together with back bag and protection stuff. :| I guess I have to lower the weight a bit more, if I don't want to have backache after long journey in airports. Or...should I just take only a SD?? 2 dolls must be too much for my fragile body(liar) :D

    9. I collect smaller dolls, so I don't have any trouble carrying them anywhere. My heaviest are the soulkids (msd) which is also the largest size I own. They are heavier than any other msd I have held (Dollzone, Resinsoul, Fairyland) but their weight is not a nuisance (I like it actually). I have a tripod carrier which I converted to a msd carrier, so I can take them somewhere, if I chose to do so. So far, they haven't left the house yet, but they might certainly do so in the future.

    10. None of my dolls are especially heavy, I only have up to SD sized dolls, but I used to take ALL of them with me to meets and cons. 3-4 SDs, 2-3 minis, and 1-3 Yos. I only really ever carried them to and from though (I'd set them up on a table or something, and move them individually for most pics), so I always managed. Time was always more of an issue than weight, it takes a while to pack/unpack so many! If I was going to the dealer room at a con I would just take 1 SD, and that was never really a bother. I'm only 5 ft tall, but I don't mind treating myself like a pack-mule for dollies! Lol

A rolling suitcase comes in really handy for this kind of stuff!

    11. All of my BJDs are 58cm and taller, except for my two MSDs. I've only had my two heaviest BJDs for a little while (Unidoll Jace and DragonDoll Cheng). Both are over 5 lbs. I've only taken Jace out with me once, and didn't have to carry him any further than in and out of the house I was visiting.

Most of my BJDs are between 3.5 and 4 lbs. I don't mind carrying one around with me at a doll show, but two gets tiresome after a few hours! Quite often I have had one in my arms and one in a carrier bag on my shoulder. By the end of the day, I am ready to put them down!! It is very much like carrying a baby, though thank goodness they don't wriggle.

    12. My biggest doll is my Angell-Studio HongLee, who is a 70cm male doll. I don't take him out a lot, but he goes to every doll meet with me and rides on my shoulders like a toddler. ^_^ I also sometimes take him places for photo shoots. He can be a bit fussy, but he's a fun guy to have around and I love taking him out whenever possible, so I definitely seek opportunities to let him sit in the passenger seat of my car and travel around with me. He'll be going with us on our road trip home to see our family later this year, too.

    13. My heaviest dolls are SDs and I never bring them outside of my home. It's not that I don't love them as much as my others, but honestly it's just more convenient and enjoyable to take tinies out and see the world from their perspectives via photoshoots. They're easily portable and easily packed away in their adorable, non-intrusive carrying bag. I think the last time I brought my SD out anywhere was in 2008.. *_*

    14. My heaviest doll is 65 cm SWITCH doll and I never take it out. The box is really huge and heavy. If I went somewhere by car I would, may be, but I have smaller dolls which are really convenient for travel.

    15. My largest doll at, is a DZ Raymond. He's a two kilo tank. X) I have taking him quite far with me once, but generally I don't go further than the grass outside. I feel kinda bad, actually.

    16. I have a Soom Chrom and I'm actually a little mad at him, because he is so inconvenient to take anywhere. I'd very much like to have cool photoshoots in different places, but even carrying a Luts SD girl around for a while makes my arms hurt. Once I took my Chrom to a doll meet and he fell down and snapped a finger (crushed it under his heavy chest really) while I was paying attention to another doll. >.<

    17. My largest and heaviest doll is either Pele, my Soom Vesuvia, or Aeona, my Soom Onyx/Amber. I'm not sure between Pele's tail and Aeona's hooves which weighs more, but I have successfully hauled each of them to a doll meet once. Rolling suitcases are very convenient for transporting them.

    18. My biggest dolls are 60cm. I have three- two Bobobies and one LUTS head/Bobobie body hybrid. I often travel with my hybrid, and my other two big ones come out pretty frequently too. Any time I go to a meet, I always bring the three big ones plus my three smaller dolls. Using a rolling suitcase eliminates the problem of how heavy the dolls are. I just pull them along.

For just traveling though, I usually will take one big doll (maybe two) or two smaller dolls. It really depends on how much room I have when I pack. I am willing to haul around a bigger doll. For about my first two years, all I had was SD sized doll(s) so it really doesn't bother me. Granted, my 60cm are wayyy lighter than most dolls of their size. At conventions that I've gone to before, I usually carry an SD in my arms. They do get heavy though, so I take breaks and stash them in a carrier or my suitcase or whatever.

    19. My heaviest dolls are two Luts SDs and they've each only been out of the house a handful of times, mostly to visit a friend who hadn't met them yet. I took Ysandre to work once but that's it. They're just too big to carry to conventions or doll meets. Plus they're both Elves so I'm somewhat terrified of dropping them or them getting damaged since at this point, neither are replaceable. Not that any of my kids are replaceable, per se... but I'd rather not risk it, yaknow?

    20. My heaviest doll is IH EID Kamau and man... He's a beast! So far, I haven't dared to take him with me, afraid that I'm going to break my back, but still... I'd really like it if I could show him to people one day. Maybe I'll muster up the courage. One day.
