1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Jun 28, 2014

?
  1. Sure, I always do.

  2. Yes, I do but not often.

  3. Umm…Just sometimes (few times).

  4. Haha…Just once or twice is enough.

  5. No…But I consider to do in the future.

  6. No way!

    1. Give or take a cm or two I have several 60cm SD sized dolls, male and female. That's plenty big enough for me. The SD's are a lot harder to dress than my MSD's and dolls even bigger would be even more so. I don't think I'd want a 70cm or greater doll.

    2. I just got my first SD last week- he's got an 80cm IoS body. It was quite a jump from my usual MSD/YoSD boys to this big fella, oh man. Whenever I pick up my Dollzone boy I marvel at how light he is, now, ahaha.

I haven't taken Rake out on any adventures yet, mostly because I haven't really gone anywhere doll-appropriate. There's a meet coming up in August I plan on taking him to, though!

    3. Mine is an Angell Studio Van. If I had a bigger carrier bag, I would take him with me. ^^

    4. My heaviest doll is now my Elysia, she weighs a ton and has not been out. My Dahlia has been to one meetup, people saw me pulling up in my car with her and thought I had brought one of my children with me.

    5. My Sooms with their fantasy parts are all about equally heavy, and I have brought two with me several times when I drove to my parents for the weekend. It wasn't too bad, but I tend to leave them if I don't think there will be an opportunity to do a photoshoot. I wouldn't hesitate to bring them to a doll meet :)

    6. I have 2 EIDs & one Idealian - those boys are HEAVY! I've taken them to meets (not all of them at once, mind) but no WAY would I ever take one to a con where I'd have to lug them about all day!!!!

    7. Well, I only take my dolls outside for photoshoots or meetups, but my largest ones are not exceptions - I have a Soom Idealian and an Iplehouse EID guy, and they have come to meetups with me before. My biggest issue is that my double SD carrier bag doesn't completely fit the Idealian (the EID can pull up his legs enough, but the ID is basically just a log), so whenever I take him out along with another doll, his feet poke out of the bag. Of course if I only want to take one doll, I can just use the single-doll carrier and even my largests fit in there :)

    8. I took Dawn for an outing once so I could take some pictures of her. :) We went to the park, and it was really fun to walk around holding her. But then, my mom needed to stop at Aldi's on the way home, so I walked around the store with a huge doll in my arms! Everyone stared at me, but I didn't care -- it was fun. I'd love to do it again sometime.

    9. I collect 62cm+ size dolls - so they're my main option if I want to take a doll to a meet up. The most I've taken with me to a meet was 3. I actually just got my heaviest doll recently and he's 6kg. I brought him out twice so far but probably won't again unless someone at a meet up requests him. I also travel by public transpo and it's always a bit of juggling around especially when the trains are full which is quite often.

    10. My heaviest doll is my SD Volks/ fairyland hybrid. I don't find her to be THAT heavy at all. I plan on taking her to my first doll meet :)

    11. Well no, I wouldn't. And not only because of all the hassle involved. Yesterday someone who is dear to me was robbed on her way back home from a doll event, and just like that, all of her dolls were taken from her. And she didn't even have large dolls with her. It makes me feel horrible, knowing someone in your life is in distress, and being unable to anything to comfort them :(
Because I live in a dangerous city, in a dangerous country, I wouldn't carry around something that would draw a lot of attention with me, like my SD dolls, or a huge carrier with them inside. I think it would increase my risks of being a target :( and if one of them was taken from me like that, I have no idea what I would do.

    12. The biggest doll I have is a LUTS Delf. I've brought her out a few times but I've always kept her in the car. It's not a hassle for me but it can be a bit awkward sometimes lugging around a big doll out in the city or setting it down on a table during dinner at a resturant. It is a lot easier than carrying around a Minifee since it's all strung together and no body parts will fall off but the size is still a bit of a problem.

    13. My biggest doll is an iplehouse EID Kamau, he is pretty heavy, but he goes all kinds of places with me. We recently went to a doll meet at a museum and walked all over the grounds. Next time though I think I will bring a childs wagon or something since I was toting: two picnic baskets, a doll sized park bench, a cooler and my doll.... with a little bit of help from my friends... Thanks guys!

    14. My biggest are the EIDs and they go out to dollmeets so people who haven't seen one can see how HUGE they are! Other than that, they do not often leave the studio space.

    15. Mine is my IH EID Tedros, my largest boy. I took him to a convention once but he was on display. After that, while we were roaming around the con, eventhough he was in his carrier, it hurt my shoulders.

    16. My dolls are not that big and they fit safely in the nooks of my arms. I usually pick one doll for meets or (since my dolls are small enough) put them in empty cleaned out pringles cans that I put into a reinforced bag I made. They all poke over the side like small lap dogs and we travel quite comfortable this way. I take a lot of public transportation too. The only thing I have to worry about is the occasional child pulling off wigs or hands. I also tell people who ask they are puppets for stop motion. This helps get around the "eww those are creepy, what are they, so weird" type of thing.

    17. New Updates : Now my largest and heaviest doll is Adelar, a SSDF Avalanche R ver. He is heavier than I think he was from photos! :o And...not thin at all. Even though my previous biggest doll was MD V.Miho hybrid with 70 cm FDoll body but the weight between them just can't compare to. I guess I will definitely have problem in Autumn or Winter during taking him with me to a doll meet. But I still...will do... :D

    18. My heaviest doll is probably ChenXing. I carried my RS Dan around at a convention and it wasn't so bad. I may get a larger boy doll and carry him. I may get a carrier for my dolls though - so I don't drop them or sweat on them while holding them.

I have an almost 40 lb 2 year old that's as tall as a 4 year old that wants me to tote him around all the time. I don't think a doll will bother one bit anymore.

    19. I seem to be drawn to the bigger dolls and I may be sorry for this in the long run, however I am not a doll taker to anything - so I really can't see that being the problem for me with these eid and sid's, but space may be in the long run.

    20. My first was a 65 cm zenith boy... I have seven primary (full dolls), only 2 are 'small' (one is 42cm and one is 26cm). They all go out ;p. The thing is not the size/weight of the dolls but how creative you get in moving them around :). My method involves having zero shame lol... I can't care stuff much to start with so I bought an old (1960's) baby buggy. I don't get chances to take my dolls out much, monthly meets. I would refrain from taking the big ones if the venue was bad for it though. I even took out my giant Soul Doll Centaur once... he is too awkward (takes most of the buggy) to transport so he only got to go to one meet up ;p.

follow the picture link and you can see a handfull more pics ;p... THAT is what I have no shame to drag around ^^ Took it to the con last year and to the museum too.
