Wow! He's really coming along well. I like your subtitle, too - it brings joy just to look at him, all shiny and colorful.

@Dilemma09 I'm glad you think so. I actually wasn't so sure if someone else hadn't done something like this before, but decided not to look, as I don't want to let things like that influence me.

And it still amazed me how far spread MLP is outside my country. In my country, I think they didn't even air it ^^° Thought I know the squishy toy ponys were around.

His-faceup will be rather simple thought ;P

@redsixwing Actually there's a bit of backstory to that subtitle, that has to do with the made-up race for him. Basically he is of a rare sub-breed of pegasi, that are actually RESPONSIBLE for the existence of rainbows. They create them by dancing when sun meets rain and making the colorful bows / rainbow bridges and making them visible to everyone. The beauty makes people feel warm and smile.
That or start into a mad dash for the pot of gold that supposedly awaits at the end of the rainbow ;P

I'm curious about centaurs/pegasus wings, both from Luts and Fairyland.
How do they connect to the body? Were there magnets drilled or casted into the body or is there a joint? I've seen the video from Fairyland for Lucywen. Lately I've been wondering if I can make a lightweight version of these wings

 

Took these pics from my lucywen box opening last week, I can take some closer picture of where the wings are attached tomorrow.

Here is my new girl. I bought the body in a split. I still haven't decided on blush, but I think she's really going to need it.

@brightberry Your girls are so pretty! I love how you dress them

 

I definitely like more the body and legs from the LUTS centaur body, these look more proportionated and fuller. The Fairyland centaur is certainly beautiful and delicate, but the legs look too skinny for my taste, also, I'm not quite fond with all these furry details of the sculpt, these make me remember the old/vintage porcelain figures full of flowers and leaves, imo those steal too much attention.

 

I'm so excited to get my Lucywen I'm planning to dye the horse parts black, so I've been researching this morning. Any and all further spam appreciated!

@Snowy I expected it would be lighter too, but I have a darker "pastel" mint sia so... (and fairyland's official photo are always more lighter than the real thing. )

Thank you so much @stray for the great picture This answers a lot of questions for me.

I was thinking with mag-ons it 'might' be possible to drill from the inside of the torso to thin the resin, and stick the mag-on underneath to avoid the appearance of holes when not using the wings.
However, looking at your Lucywen it seems as if theres a 'nub' that would click into place with the main wing connector as well. Makes sense, the weight of the resin-wings might be too much for the magnets alone...
Did Fairyland give you a separate plate to cover up the mag-ons when you are not using the wings in that area?(I saw you could swap the wings on to her back in the official video)

Also, the wings on your Luts centaur, can you sorta move them around much? I had a look on your Flickr at the Luts wings, they go quite a long way into the torso and they are also mag-ons which were surprising. I thought they would be jointed on to the body like how arms are jointed.

I guess I could make a saddle and just attach the wings to that and strap it on XD

Actually, I saw your rainbow centaur's wings on Flickr too! I always assumed they were smaller, so the mag-on system would work. I'd love to see a comparison with your Berry pegataur!
