The One. (AKA it just clicked!)

Jun 20, 2011

    1. My Serendipity Noel, she was the first doll I wanted when I entered this hobby back in 2005 but couldn't afford to buy her and then the company closed down... It took me four years but I now have one and I'd never sell her.

I even thought about buying a replacement when I couldn't find her, a Dollmore Kid Asha, they do look alike a bit but it wouldn't be the same.

My friends often says my dolls look like me, in the end they're characters are all parts of myself.

    2. For sure.

I have to say that my Crobikitten is one of those "just clicking" dolls. I had originally got back into the hobby to get an Iplehouse JID girl, but Iple was renewing their JID girl body and the doll I wanted wasn't on sale. I was disappointed, but then I ran across a Crobidoll in the Box Opening thread- I did some research on the company and saw the kitten lance. It was love at first sight. I worked hard to save up the money to buy him, and I did!

I never thought I'd like a tiny- never thought I'd get one or spend as much money on a doll as I spent on him, but he was more than worth it. He was my grail doll.

Also, my DOD M. Kaillar was a random find on the marketplace while looking for my other grail Delphine. Something just clicked when I saw him in pictures, and I just had to have him- and now he's home, too! Of course, Delphine is on her way, and there was something about her I saw and loved in her pictures. Same with my Soom Shale & Adamelli.

I don't get dolls that don't "click." Dolls have to really speak to me in order for me to really want one. I have a lot on my wishlist, but until I'm captivated by one, I won't go through with it.

    3. I had a minute like that with my Angelsdoll Michael. Pics went up on the site and I had to have him! I was completely in love and my husband thought I was crazy as he was shown with a sweet face in a suit and I said I wanted a dark goth guy. When he came home I put his clothes and makeup on him and it was just perfect. :D Even the hubby was impressed.

    4. I had this with my third doll. I'd bought a soom Mylo on the marketplace due to not being able to afford the original release. When she got here I was shaking when I opened her, which hadn't happened with my other two dolls. Then when I zipped open the pillow and saw her face... it was this complete "you're never leaving me" feeling that I hadn't felt before. She is now my favourite ^^

    5. My first doll, Vivica ( a DZ Fei). She wasn't what I wanted at first at all. I wanted a BBB March for my first doll. But then I saw the thread on the Marketplace. And then I kept going back and looking, and no one had PM'ed the owner in all that time. And the more I saw the picture of her, the more I fell in love. And I had to have her. She was the one- she had to be my first doll. And I bought her.

I had a similar experience with my second doll- who is being shipped today! Once again, I was looking through the Marketplace for days. And I kept looking at the same dolls over and over and I just wasn't impressed with any of them. The two I kept going back to in particular were RS Li dolls, but I wanted a boy. And I kept looking at them and thinking, "I don't really like them..." Then I was online with my boyfriend next to me and we were watching an anime on Hulu, and I switched to DoA during a commerical. The first thing that popped up was another RS Li. So I looked for kicks. I fell in love. I read over what the seller said a couple times. I was like "I want her... Should I PM the owner?" and I kept going back and forth between yes and no. My boyfriend just let me mull it over for awhile, got sick of it and told me to just PM her at least, I can't lose anything. Then we went outside to do yard work and I kept bringing it up and he kept saying he'd buy her for me. I saw some more pictures of her and I had to have her. It was the same as with my Vivica. I knew I couldn't pass her up. So an hour after the RS Li went up, I claimed her, and now she's on her way here. ♥

    6. When I saw my first Migidoll Ryu I fell in love. I have never seen a Ryu I didn't like and after redoing mine's face up I love him too and I think he will always forever be with me (he's my first).

    7. Mine was Souldoll Chiron (human version). I was struck the first time I saw him while I was hunting for my 1st doll. But I didn't have enough to bring him (or any other SD dolls) home at that time. However, even after months later, I still liked him as much as I did the first time I saw him and I kept going back to the souldoll website to look at him. I love his bishie look but I'm not a fan of the body actually. Nevertheless, I'm saving up to get him eventually one day. :)

    8. When I first saw the Crobidoll Tei, I knew that he was the one, but I didn't have the money for him and I didn't want to spend that much on my first doll. So instead I got a Resinsoul Gang, I love him to pieces and I don't regret getting him. Some day I will get the Crobidoll Tei some day.

    9. Iplehouse Vito. Love his young, but breathtakingly somber face. D:

    10. I had that with my Soom Dia boy. I was originally saving up for a Sard but decided against it due to the little differences between the heads that would not have fit my character so well, like Sard's ears. I love them, but they make absolutely no sense on my boy (and honestly, it didn't hurt either to realize I can practically have my grail doll - with all the right modifications already done and for a much lower price - new from the company instead of second-hand).
As soon as I opened his box and took him out, I knew I had made the right decision and that he's that one perfect doll I wanted.
As much as I might love a mold, I usually always find little things that bug me and need to be modded eventually, but not with him. And even with all those gorgeous dolls out there that I'd love to own one day, I have yet to come across another that has a similar effect on me.

    11. Crobidoll Lance. I swear one day I WILL get him. The minute i saw his promo picture i knew that he must be mine. His facial expression captured me... *___*

    12. When I was browsing the different companies looking for my first doll, I stumbled onto Dream of Doll. The first time I saw H.Ducan I knew that he was THE ONE. I could not stop going back to the site and drooling over him and so I ordered him. He was my first doll and while I have a lot of them now, he is my favorite. Every time I look at him I still get all *squee* XD

    13. It was the SOOM Asil for me. I think it was the combination of the sweet droopy eyes and the cute two front teeth for me. ^^

    14. All of my complete dolls have been like that for me; I only buy dolls I already have fallen in love with. The only exceptions have been the two I got as heads (my Elf and Vampire Elf Shiwoos), who are not quite finished yet. I'm looking forward to the day I look at them faced-up, properly wigged and fully costumed and experience the "click" I got just seeing the sale photos of the others.

    15. CP Luwen vampire was the first THE ONE for me. I knew when I saw him I had to have him. I just had to have him. He is my only "dolly lust" doll that has survived here. I usually lust after dolls, buy them, then realize I don't have a character and then I sell them. But my Lu-wen developed a character and stayed. I love him.

Now I am waiting for dollzone's summer event deer boy. When I saw him I knew I had to have him. He is perfect and I just have to have him. I am soooooo excited! I've been waiting for a long time to create a God and now I finally can. I promise to love him and take him everywhere with me. I thought about it when the little Glot's first came out but I am really glad I waited because Dollzone's deer are so much better. I am more prepared now as well because I know how to do faces and body blushing now so I can totally customize him myself.

    16. I was originally getting a luts kid delf and was looking around for clothing when I came up with Dollmore's site
I looked at their dolls and OMG Dollmore Kid Pado was PERFECT it was defenitely a moment
I changed my mind in a sec on which to get: Kid Pado! o(^.^)o

    17. I've had a similiar feeling this week.
      Allow me to explain :3
I have been trying to figure out my doll's personality for about... 5 months now (wow.) and have been SUPER frustrated about it. I was drawing some chibi style wings on a peice of paper and they were the EXACT same color as her eyes (blue with a hint of purple) and I realized... "Oh my gosh! These wings would be an AMAZING tattoo for her!"
SO it kinduv dawned on me that I was going to get the right materials and give her a tattoo. And it also let me know i really want to learn how to do face-ups :D! I've been painting for a few years and realized itd be a fun challenge to transfere it to dolls xD

TWO IDEAS FOR ONE BABY xD

    18. I haven't come across a doll yet that was "the one." Hopefully one day I will, and hopefully I'll be able to afford him/her :P I guess my dolls were sort of an "I have money saved up, time to treat myself to a new doll" type of dolls.

Hopefully one day I find a release that is "The one." Like I destined into this hobby because of this amazing doll.

    19. SHINYDOLL Akali. I saw an image of her in a doll magazine that I picked up downtown. Clutching that rolled up magazine I rushed to take the train home and hit BUY.

      LOVE THIS DOLL!

    20. Mabel From Leekeworld Is "The One" For Me~
I Was Browsing Flickr And Saw A Pictures of This Adoreable Yet Gorgeous Doll And I Fell In Love.
I Was Constantly Thinking Of Her And Drawn To Any Pictures Of Her. I Looked All Over The Place And saw Tons Of Pictures And I'm Curently Saving. Can't Wait<3
