1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. The smells of your home relating to your dolls?

Oct 21, 2012

    1. -Does your home have any specific smells?
unfortunately yes, I try to keep any and all smells out of my part of the apartment (because I hate all smells) but because it doesn't really matter to the people I live with it's not always possible.

-Do you think it will affect your dolls?

I hope not, actually it's for this very reason (and the fact that I hate smells) that when I take my girl out I try to stay away from people smoking/wearing really strong perfume.

-Doll you think it will affect when you sell it?

I would never sell my girl but if I was selling a doll that is something I would add in the description, if the potential buyer(s) is anything like me it would affect whether or not they buy her.

    2. I worry about this every time I cut an onion, as the smell gets into my towels in the bathroom. I never even thought about how it might affect a doll.

-Does your home have any specific smells?
Not that I am aware of. No one as of yet has pulled me aside to tell me my house smells funky. I do burn Scenty from time to time, especially after I cook something stinky!

-Do you think it will affect your dolls?
I would hope not, but seeing as I am new to all of this, the thought hadn't really occurred to me. My dolls tend to lounge around in the nude. I am not familiar with the odor absorbing properties of resin. Does anyone know?!?

-Doll you think it will affect when you sell it?

As said above, I probably woulnd't notice the scent until the buyer said anything. Plus, I don't feel comfortable asking someone to sniff at my dolls! Imagine how awkward that would be, especially with someone not familiar with BJDs!

    3. I wonder if I can get my doll to smell like brownies. That would be pretty awesome.

    4. I burn incense and candles in my room every so often, and my dolls have definitely picked up the scents. But wanna know the kicker? They're all different! Some have a more woody smell while the others are musky, and only a couple smell like sweet sunflowers and freezia. My dad usually smokes downstairs and my cat comes around sometimes, so there might be a subtle scent there, but I doubt I'd pick it up since this is what I smell everyday.

    5. I don't think there's any smells on my dolls that I could notice...Wouldn't surprise me if he started smelling like sandlewood or black cherry incense.

    6. As far as I know, my house doesn't have any particular smell. My doll doesn't seem to smell of anything in particular either. I keep her in my room and, as far as I can tell, the room has a neutral odor. I haven't had her for very long so she could definitely pick up some kind of scent in the future. It will be interesting to see if she starts giving off a different odor over time.

    7. I'm always afraid of the way my dolls smell (..and me.). I used to live in a smoking household when I was younger where both my parents and never even thought of the smell of cigarettes. Then a little girl that shared my locker with me started to spray my coat with air freshener. I didn't even realize it until then that it might bother other people. And now, I keep my dolls in a non-smoking room, but I'm afraid they'll still smell like it. Plus, I have exotic pets in the same room with them, so I'm afraid they'll stink when I take them out. It smells normal to me, so I wouldn't even notice, but I'm sure everyone can and would smell it. I heard sticking them in their box with a scented candle could help if you wanted to take them out, or sell them. If I ever did end up selling a doll, I'm sure a non-smoker, non-pet owner would want to give them a nice washing.

    8. -Does your home have any specific smells?
My home always smells like salt because I live right by the sea.
-Do you think it will affect your dolls?
He definitely already smells like the sea XD
-Doll you think it will affect when you sell it?
It depends on how much people like (or dislike) sea salt smell >.>

    9. -Does your home have any specific smells?
I think all homes have a specific smell. My apartment smells clean since I live in a new building and I love candles (mainly apple & cinnamon :)). Whenever my boyfriend and I have visitors over they always comment on how nice it smells in our apartment. We also don't smoke and we don't have any pets.

-Do you think it will affect your dolls?
Hard to say, since I only burn candles in the kitchen and my dolls are kept in my bedroom most of the time, but I think that the resin smell is stronger on them than the general smell of my apartment. I don't burn or spray strong-smelling scents, since they give me a headache.

-Doll you think it will affect when you sell it?

No, I doubt anyone would be able to smell anything other than resin. I've sold things both on DoA and eBay (including some plushies and new clothing) with no mention of scents so I doubt it's an issue.

    10. In my house there is a non stop smoking mother, and also I like incense so my dolls are definitely affected by those, but I do not care much since I do not plan on selling them.
