1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

The sold out dolls

May 10, 2013

    1. Just save your money up and be patient. They turn up eventually -- either a re-release, or someone selling theirs. I got a few older dolls that way. For example, I bought my Cass's fantasy parts from one person, and the human version doll + wig from another. When I have some cash saved up, I shall start stalking for her outfits. :)

    2. These answers are great. The wait to get into MP is excruciating but I'm really hoping it will be worth it. I love Soom but I am so sad I came into the hobby so late in the game. It appears they haven't released too many new dolls in the last year in the Gem section and it actually makes me sad. haha.

    3. I know how you feel, but if you wait and watch.. sometimes they will pop up on on the secondhand market.

There was a cute pink haired girl from Custom House AI's line that I wanted very badly.. but she kept selling out, & I've never her seen her for sell.. I guess people loved her too much.

    4. I think it's telling that Cass (one of the 'missed out' LEs listed in the OP) is currently being re-released by Soom. In this hobby, there's almost never such a thing as an unattainable doll. Many LE's are re-released (sometimes with different face-ups and outfits, or in the case of Soom, in different skin tones or with different fantasy parts). For those that aren't, there's always the marketplace.

I joined this hobby at the start of 2009, having missed Soom's first year of Monthly Dolls. Now, through the secondhand market and Soom re-releasing dolls, I own six out of the nine dolls I wanted from that year. I'm only missing IO, Onyx and Vesuvia, and of those only Onyx will be very difficult to get (and only because I need her in grey skin, not normal, bronze or white). If you'd asked me back in 2009 if I'd ever own the dolls I have now (particularly Bix, Beryl and Sard), I would have been 100% certain the answer was 'no'. And yet, they've made their way into my collection nonetheless :)

    5. Not always, but sometimes these sold out dolls will show up in the Market Place on here, ebay, or other sites.

Every once in a while you will see someone over the moon bc they found their dream doll that was sold out. However it's really annoying to try and buy a doll only to have someone else buy it without getting any of the extra options.. like having it coated & the seams removed.. yet they will charge more than double the original price. :...(

So put your doll on your Dolly wish list and maybe you might get lucky one day and come upon one for sale :)

I use to drool over a Pink haired girl from Custom House AI... & it pained me beyond words to see that "SOLD OUT" tag under her photo.
