This is the one! - How do you know?

For me it's more of a gradual research process - I'll keep several windows open while comparing body types and faces, just looking for the thing that'll really 'click' in my mind. In general, I have a rather specific range I prefer (and I've noticed that owners of these dolls all have very similar preferences in their collections as well) so it helps to narrow things down from so many choices.

But yeah, once I realize that I've looked at the doll I dunno, once a day or something to just check on its availability and such, it's pretty certain I'm hooked.

 

I guess for me it was like "OMG THIS DOLLS FACE SHAPE LOOKS LIKE ASAGI's!!!".. I was making a doll after a singer ^^;;;;.

But my most recent doll was.. hmm.. I wasnt even looking to buy a doll head.. I was just bored and looking through the threads.. and BAM! I saw a K-doll for the first time and fell inlove with it 8D. I was blown away by its beauty so I searched for it in the marketplace and found this beeaaauutttiful doll hesd and just KNEW I had to have him. Sooo~ I purchased him. He should be here any day now 8D

 

I don't have any doll yet, the only BJD things I have is a head and some shoes ( xDDDDD ).
But I already have a doll I really want, I do have the money for it, but I want to same up some more.
For me the first dol will be one that I already know how I want it to look. It'll be one of my OCs. To find the doll I looked threw alot or sites and founded some dolls that just looked like my character.
But for my other dolls I won't do that. For them, I just get a feeling, it's always about the possibilities I can do with the doll, the face that I can't get over it, things like that. But I don't buy out the first doll I find, I try looking at other compagnies and such to really find the doll I think will be the best for me/what I want.

 

I'm one of the types who buys a doll, and lets them define their own character. XD;

And for me, it's usually instant love. If I see a sculpt and it just steals my heart so completely that I keep coming back, it usually means it's the one. xD;

Then again, only two dolls worth of experience right now, but that's how it's usually been.

 

With me it's, hard to explain,when I saw the sculpt (Volks Ken) of my first doll I saw something in it that just just made me want one as my first doll, now there are others that I want, they just call to me I guess.

 

I spent a little over a month looking at all the different dolls I could find but I kept coming back to that one boy (IH barron). His face just stuck in my mind as the perfect one to represent Eisen from my story.

 

I always go looking around differend Doll sites, ebay or so to look at dolls, and most BJD's just are beautyfull so you think "I would really want that one, or this one is so cute", but when I see one, and I just can't forget the Doll (even after one year ) then I defenetly know "This is the one"

 

Most of the time I just look around, I don't even really know what i'm looking for exactly, until i've found it ofcourse. And then I fall in love.. And if i look at him some time later and I still get excited and he still 'touches' me it's okay if it fades I have to look for some other doll xD

 

for me, doll's face goes first. its like in real life, we're easily to be inpressed by some faces. and secondly, i prefer dolls with fangs LOL. it can be one big reason for my choosing dolls as well.

 

If I can't sleep at night, thinking about them.. That's the one. I'm pretty impulsive, but when I fall for one.. it's inevitable .. therefore I don't wait.

 

I was looking around for one and a half month until I found the perfect doll for me.
It was her face-up that enchanted me and so I bought her.
After she arrived I write down a simple story with her as a main character, just for fun...
But when I ordered my second doll, the story continued in a way, that I never expected.
And now I'm looking for the perfect dolls for my characters in the story - but the most importent thing for me is still the doll's face.
Because of the fact that I'm to afraid to make a face-up myself, the doll has to have the perfect face-up...

 

I think the type of look I like and the character of the expression is the most important. It's hard not to be tempted by every cute doll, but there are certain ones that give off just an irresistible charm to them, and you just know that they have the potential to have such a totally lovable and interesting personality.

 

As Supreme Court Justice Stewart once ruled on the question of what constitutes pornography, "I know it when I see it". When a doll is True Love, I just generally KNOW.

 

It just sort of like... hit me in the face when I saw Tsuki modeling wigs. For some reason, something about her just drew me so much and no matter what doll I looked at, they just couldn't compare to her. I suppose when you get this feeling of admiration, want, need, and absolutely love and you get excited every time you see the doll, then it's basically the doll for you.
