Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. To bring to Disneyland or not?

Nov 5, 2015

    1. My girl is BEGGING me to take her to Disneyland but I'm a little nervous about it. Anyone else recently taken their dollies to any Disney parks? I'm just not sure if I should go for it...I'm thinking about getting a nice padded carrier from Dollmore so I can stow her away on the bumpier rides. Any thoughts?

      And see? BEGGING

    2. I think if you're going to one of the parks where you spend more time looking at things or watching shows than riding things, it could be a lot of fun. But if you're planning to be really involved in activities and riding rides, then no. Even in a nice bag, some rides may require you to leave the bag to the side, or she could still get shaken or squished enough to get damaged. Also, if you're going to be involved in activities much, she may be in the way more than fun. (Plus heat, rain, etc could make it even worse...) Also keep in mind there will probably be children (and some adults!) wanting to see her, so consider if that will cause stress to you or be fun for you.

If it were me, I'd probably take the doll to the hotel, but not the park. Or if you live close enough to not need a hotel, then maybe just pick up some souvenirs (maps, photos, maybe a little plush) and take pictures of her with those once you get home.

    3. I second the above with a strong warning to not take the doll into any park/crowded areas where you may have your attention taken away from your possessions, like a dinner show or theater. The resorts and hotels that Disney runs provide plenty of stunning and recognizable photo ops, such as the monorail, fireworks shows, mosaics, landscaping.. You could get photos with such things without even paying park admission, in fact! There is a high risk that belongings taken into the park could be stolen or damaged. Park staff may even restrict the carrying of bags. I don't know what current park policy is, but it could end up that she just has to be stored in a rented locker all day. Safer at the hotel, kept in her bag when you're not in the room, and only taken to see the sights when you can pay full attention to her.

    4. I'd definitely not recommend it. If you're staying in one of their hotels, it might be fun to keep her there, and take pictures of her around the hotel.
As to actually bringing her into the park, I don't believe it's a good idea. Almost all of the rides will require you to leave anything bigger than a clutch-bag (think, about the size of your hand) off to the side. There's a chance of things being stolen, or more likely, stepped on, and I wouldn't risk that, personally!

    5. I wouldn't take my dolls to any place with lots of children, as some kids don't respect boundaries and other people's possessions (and lack the fear of the law like most adults do). I second maybe taking her to the hotel though or snapping a few pictures in quiet spots.

    6. I've been to DL many times and it is NOT the place to take valuables of any sort. It is very crowded and it is too easy to get distracted with so much to look at and do. I would be terrified of my doll getting stolen or damaged. The risk is not worth it. I don't even take my real camera, but a disposable. If the disposable gets stolen or lost, you only lose the photos, not your expensive camera.

Also as others have mentioned, you cannot take large bags on rides, but must leave them off to the side. You CAN rent lockers to keep valuables in, but why take your doll if you're just going to have her locked away.

Buy souveniers that you can use to make Disney type dioramas at home and let your dolly experience the fun in safety.

    7. No, I wouldn't and not only because I'd be afraid she'd get damaged or even worse, stolen. I'd be pretty concerned about the weight of carrying a resin doll around all day, too! You'll be on your feet & on the go for hours, and any extra weighty things are going to start wearing you out sooner or later. In order for you to really enjoy yourself, I think you'd best leave your doll in the hotel. Taking her to Disney Land would be really cool, but the stress & hassle wouldn't make it worth it to me.

    8. I totally understand what you guys are saying, maybe someday if I have a smaller doll I can take him/her but I like the idea of making a diorama of some sort! Thanks for all the tips!!!

    9. I took a tiny (14 cm and skinny) with me to Universal Studios. Sort of. She never went into the park with me even though she fits in a pocket. I did take pictures of her in the hotel room, but other than that she stayed in my bag in the room. I was too worried she'd get lost or damaged if I took her with me.

    10. I wonder if it would be worth it to take her into the park but only for pictures and then return her to the hotel when you want to go ride things. And definitely have someone with you to make sure she doesn't get stolen while you take the photos!

    11. It seems like it should be a fun idea, but given what anyone I know who has attended a theme park has told me about them, I think I'd avoid bringing anything that wasn't required.

    12. I agree. I've been to several theme parks and I find it being most enjoyable when I'm not lugging a purse or anything around. I would be stressed out where to put it during rides. The cubbies usually aren't very big, and I wouldn't leave anything you wouldn't mind having stolen. Someone could easily grab it and you'd never see the doll again. It can also get really hot, people are bumping into you, greasy handles from food, etc. I wouldn't find it very enjoyable because I'd be worried about my doll too much.
