1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

To you, is a bjd an art piece or are they a doll?

May 7, 2019

    1. I just think of them as these sweet adorable little angels. If that makes any sense lol. I often forget that they are artists dolls and hence why they feel so dearly entitled to my wallet and why I frequently spend so much on them. Even my mother reminds me they are art.

    2. I see them as pieces of applied arts. There are a few sculpts, which I rang among fine arts. Strangely enough I never wanted to own one of these. It's like when you go to the museum, admire masterpieces and just feel good. And that's sufficient. My own dolls are all more common sculpt and I don't feel guilty, if I give them a totally different look than the maker company. Actually that's the aspiration. I don't regard them as art, even if I make everything for them by my own - face up, hair, clothes, eyes... And I do not expose them, they lie in their boxes. It's just crafting that helps me work off stress.

    3. Well, they are both.
Tecnically is a doll, a doll with joints. It is also a piece of art because it was a hand-made product. In addition, another features such like makeup and clothes.

    4. To me there a piece of art. I have painted them and clothed them just right. I spent the time and effort making everything perfect right down to the posing. I love to have them out and about so company can admire them as well
