1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Types of fashion you would like to see come out for bjd

Dec 18, 2014

    1. I think BJD companies should think more about producing red carpet gowns as its almost impossible to find, all companies are focusing on Lolita, goth, cute pastel or sexy leather clothes which you can already find a lot of it at Etsy and ebay, but elegant designer clothes are hard to find

    2. I'd like to see anime/games outfits
      Meiji, Taishou, Heian Era's outfits
More musical instruments from different places in the world
And more accessories for Dolls ;)

    3. Are there any types of fashion that are not currently in the market that you would love to see?

SD-Sized Victorian and Edwardian children's clothes with the details correct (no nasty synthetic lace, not adding puffed-sleeves to everything regardless of the style of the rest of it, not flaring all sleeves from elbow to wrist regardless of the style of the rest of the garment, no shirts designed to be left untucked, no low-waisted trousers and knee britches, no waistcoats that are too short to cover the waistband of the trousers/britches... etc. etc. etc.), and preferably not made of synthetic fabrics.

What is the piece of clothing you want that is hardest to find?

All styles of boys trousers with the waist at actual waist level instead of the currently fashionable slow-slung styles (come to think of it I'd like that in full sized clothing too)

What is the weirdest/ least common type of clothes you have already found?

Nothing comes to mind, I'm too focused on the things I can't find.

    4. I'm going to echo the desire for Western period and Asian traditional clothing that is made with better quality fabrics, in-scale trims and buttons, and patterns that are at least based on period styles. Drop front breeches instead of 20th century pants! Knee breeches to go with those "prince" jackets. If I'm going to shell out $$ for doll clothes, it needs to be something with tedious or complex construction details that I don't want to do myself. Sellers need to be a lot more truthful about the fabric blends they are using. I'm sure we've all seen cases where fabric dye got onto the resin - there's just no excuse for this, IMHO.
hardest to find? - Since I can sew, my biggest headache is shoes. How hard could it be to make some simple brocade slippers, boots without a lot of superfluous metal bits or shoes like the Pipkin and Bonnet styles? Seriously, I think some basic, economical shoe and boot styles in natural leather colors that you could decorate yourself would be big sellers.
What is the weirdest/ least common type of clothes you have already found? I've run across clothes pre-stained with "blood." Can't say where, as I just shrugged and moved on.

    5. I adore clothing styled from the early 1900's while I have found a few things here and there it isn't easy to come by. I did manage to find a suitable 1920's style swimsuit that I could tailor to fit my IP Jessica.

    6. more full body female leather jackets, so far I've only seen one type and seller

    7. Honestly I'd just like to see more affordable clothing than most of what I see for sale online. If I buy clothing at all it's usually heavily discounted or used because I simply cannot afford it otherwise. I'm tired of seeing $20 plus t-shirts and $40 plus pairs of pants and $30 plus pairs of shoes, $100 plus outfits and suits. Most BJD's are better dressed than I am. I very seldom see clothing that's new that I can rationalize. I've seen some of the very same stuff in different places at drastic price differentials too. Some of the shoes I bought at Miro recently? They're 3X more elsewhere. I'm very grateful that I found Miro because I'd probably never be able to afford any new shoes for my crew otherwise. I can make shirts. I'm lousy so far at pants, but the t-shirt thing I'm getting pretty good at. I can alter dresses to fit the SD girls, make socks and even quick leggings, but I cannot afford to just go out and buy a lot of the stuff I'd like to. I'm sewing for them because I have to. Otherwise given the prices on everything new my dolls would likely sit around naked forever. I don't mind very special upscale clothing being expensive, I get that level of work, but I can't hardly even go out and even buy a 3 pack of t-shirts or some doll jeans and not gasp slightly at how expensive they are. Once in a while I find something I think is reasonably priced but that's not often. Usually I resort to used clothes or getting out the sewing machine...

    8. Actually simply finding clothes that fit is hard, my dolls are slimmer than stardard slim minis and most clothes just fall off them...

    9. I would like to see more Lolita with rococo mix. More fantasy costumes. Most important for me would be shoes for Fairyland MOE feet and high heeled shoes.

    10. I'd like to see more high fantasy (think Lord of the Rings), particularly in pieces instead of full outfits so I can mix and match without breaking the bank.

I'd also love to see more "normal modern" stuff. I've only found a couple of sellers so far who have basic, normal separates; the shops are far more dominated by frilly, poofy pastels for girls, and dark, ripped, belt-covered punk gear for guys. I'd love to have a larger range of shops to buy from!

    11. 1. Historical-- all cultures, all periods!
      2. Fantasy-- all types.
      3. Accessories: Hats, scarves, gloves, armlets, socks, stockings, underwear (that aren't just the regular, plain things that are available).

    12. I would like to see more fantasy-style clothing geared towards dolls with animal parts. I've got a Resinsoul Yao and a Resinsoul Ai that I've not been able to clothe properly because I don't want them wearing street clothes, Lolita dresses, or anything like that. I'm probably just going to have to make something, which is frustrating because I don't machine-sew small things well and hand sewing is tedious.

    13. darn, that sounds tough

haha nice one, it would be cool to see a doll and you think: Hey that looks familiar

    14. Here I mean clothes offered by doll companies for their dolls or companies only making doll clothes. You can always commision someone to make clothes for you if you can't or don't want to make them yourself.

Are there any types of fashion that are not currently in the market that you would love to see?
-I'd like to see longer girl dresses. Almost every dress I like colourwise only goes down to the knees. I follow a lot of people on here who make longer dresses for their dolls and it's a pity there aren't many companies that make them.
-High heels for guy feet. Nothing I need to buy but I hear a lot of complaining from fellow owners about the lack thereof. ^^
      -More plain clothes in multiple colours. Dresses, again, tend to be very frilly and full of ribbons and such. I guess some are really cute that way but sometimes you could really lose a doll in there. ^^;
Or plain shoes in different colours. If you looks for cute shoes for girls you can't avoid ribbons.
-More traditional clothing from everywhere around the world.
-More post-apocalyptic stuff as was already mentioned.
-More alternative stuff that is not just black shiny leather, studs and fishnets.

What is the piece of clothing you want that is hardest to find?
Traditional clothing that is well made and has more than one colour option to choose from. Even Hanbok are hard to find, because mostly they are just made for LEs and then it's usually only two versions.

What is the weirdest/ least common type of clothes you have already found?
Ok, I will split that into
weirdest: I don't know why that is but many dolls just wear strips of clothing (looking especially at you, soom dolls) and I just can't get behind that.
least common: Again, traditional clothing. I know some tailors who will make them but only a few doll companies will offer them regulary.

    15. Are there any types of fashion that are not currently in the market that you would love to see?

I will echo someone else who said more mature looking clothing for Yosds. All of my Yosd characters are children but they are not toddlers. It's really hard to find clothing that isn't too cutesy or cut in a way that would just make them look about 3 or 4 when I want my characters are 8 or 9.

I'd love to see more mori fashion for Yosd girls. I have a Yosd that I'd love to dress in a really authentic mori girl look but it's just so hard to find anything that looks right. There is plenty for MSDs but slim pickings for anything smaller.

I'd also love more hat options all around. I know beanies and berets are probably easier to make and those straw hats are at every craft store but I'm talking about other hat styles like fedoras or wide brimmed ladies hats. They are just hard to find.

What is the piece of clothing you want that is hardest to find?

I am *desperate* for two things for my Yosd girls. Number one is a sweater that buttons up the front that is kind of baggy and slouchy looking, add pockets and it would be perfect. Number two is white fishnet tights that go all the way up the thigh or are a full pantyhose style (i've found the knee length or sock length kind, that's just not what i'm looking for). I'd love a pair with polka dots or hearts or something like that if possible. I've seen pictures out there so I know they exist, just not for sale. I've been looking literally everywhere for both of those things for over a year and I have yet to find them.

What is the weirdest/ least common type of clothes you have already found?

Nothing yet. Get back to me on this one.

    16. Definitely hoping to see some fine looking wa loli outfits for msd and yosd. Even human sized ones are so rare and hard to come by :<
Was trying to get a red wa loli for my Soom appini, but cannot find nicely made one anywhere u .u I wonder was I looking in the wrong places :/.

    17. I would enjoy seeing more dolls in cosplay (though I'm not sure if that's even considered a fashion!), but also I'm pretty keen on seeing more harajuku street fashion types! Creative and great variety of colors and styles :D

    18. phirah have you seen Alices Collections? http://www.acbjd.com/clothes-16-clothes-c-3_19.html?page=1&sort=20a There are also YOSD outfits and tops scattered through the other clothing sections - many in 'boy shirts' - there's a 3 piece suit in 'boy outfits' and a few dresses etc in 'girl outfits' after page 5 (mainly lolita style) Also lots of leggings etc. for YOSD size in this section http://www.acbjd.com/clothes-stockings-c-3_52.html

Also on ebay if you search for 'ken clothing' (as in barbie and ken) Jeans for Ken can be very cheap compared to BJD clothes - they just need rolling up at the ankle a little and they fit perfect! ^_^

    19. Have you seen Peppermint Circus? They make wa loli for YoSD, don't know if they do MSD ones as well: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PeppermintCircus

    20. I would like to see modern clothing that can fit dolls with fantasy parts. Shirts usually aren't an issue, but finding a variety of pants that look cool or even just look like they fit a doll with fantasy legs can be challenging. I would also like to see some fantasy parts accessories too, things like shin guards for SD fantasy hooved dolls.
