1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

U-noa 1.5 Lusis and Sist pre-order info 2011

Jan 22, 2008

    1. This is the only part I don't agree with.. Alchemic Lab isn't a company at all! It's a small artist studio!

    2. Wow, I am so happy that there's finally a preorder when I have the money for a Unoa! It's still a lot of money to spend on once for me, but I know I'd regret it a lot if I didn't go for it. - Now, should I get Lusis or Sist... I can't really make up my mind, and I can't buy both of them. I am also very excited about the Chibis , I really like how they fit in with Unoa 1.5, like a shorter friend or a younger sister. I am definetely gonna consider buying one when/if a preorder comes up. I really adore Roron, I think she looks adorable!
      God, I wish I was a millionaire.

    3. Oh, an Unoa Dane ^^
Definitely go for it, you will not regret it.
And get either and pick up the other faceplate of the MP or YHJ! Then you have both ^^
...Agree on that millionaire thing lol!

    4. Lol, yeah, I'm an Unoa Dane. I think I most definetely will, I have been wanting an Unoa for such a long time now, and I know exactly what she's going to be like as a character. Hehe, I was thinking about that, but the thing that I think would be greatest about having two is photographing them together. But you're probably right, I could aways buy the faceplate of the other girl and then make them share one body until next preorder.
      - Hehe, I think it would be hard to find someone who wouldn't agree on that. =b

    5. Thank you so much for the information. If I had clicked on the part of Crescent's site I would have seen the new Chibi Unoa. So sorry. I did write them to see if the seams are sanded. I do not want to pay $795 for a doll that I have to do lots of work on. I would rather pay a lot less and get a kit. Like I mentioned, when I was new to the bjd world, I was so excited about Unoas that I way overpaid for mine. Live and learn, no more!

Glad to see a discussion group on the tiny site. Once again, thank you!

    6. wow, i've been lurking for the longest time. and i pretty much have my heart set on getting a unoa, as my first doll.. not so wise huh.im not really a doll collector but i do admire and appreciate at beautifully scuplted dolls like unoas alot.
i cant really decide between a lusis or a sist. get the other faceplate second hand? yes i would, but im worried abt the resin match of the faceplates, since options parts are only available like once a year, second hand plates would be alot older and yellower?

from what i have seen is that the last time unoa kits were offered, it was in 2007, am i right?

    7. Alanaia It is the photographing them together that is the tricky part yes, but you could always go second hand for another body as well later on instead of waiting for pre-orders. They do take a loooong time in between. And if he is starting the chibis as well, might be every third year O.o (Just speculating here folks lol)

squirtzy Personally think an Unoa is the perfect choice for a first doll. You are sure not to be disappointed as the sculpt is so gorgeous and detailed.
Regarding resin matches, there is a little difference but it is not much and I would not worry too much about it, unless of course it is one of those things that absolutely will annoy you to death.
With blushing you will not even notice.

I got a 1.0 body with 1.5 hands and feet and yes, I can tell the difference but personally that does not matter to me.

    8. On Alchemic Lab it says the chibi u-noa does not have sanded seems. But I would assume that the major gates were removed since those get in the way of assembly and these dolls were used in the Harajuku dolls show so there was some care in professional presentation.

U-noa makes a great first doll. According to alchemic lab anything before period 4 u-noa order should match. Of course there may be some light resin changes or yellowing over the years but after you give your doll a faceup it changes the color of the face anyway. Most of my u-noa and u-noa parts are a fairly good match and some of them are years old so I wouldnt worry about it too much.

    9. Thank you Aeneas. Yes, Crescent Shop wrote me back and confirmed that the seams are NOT sanded. That lets me out! I will not pay that much money for a doll I have to do lots of work on. Yes, maybe the feet would be in better shape, but I really do not like to sand seams anymore. But they sure are cute!

    10. I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here or something, but I didn't find anywhere else to ask this; does anybody know when/if there will be another Unoa BOY pre-order..?
How often do they do these pre-orders anyway?

    11. Not all that often. The second order for boys was around this time last year, as I recall. (That's when I got mine).

Keep an eye on this thread. The dates for preorders get posted as soon as they are known.

    12. Thanks for the reply, sgtgeorgecarter!

Ah, allright.. So it might actually take YEARS until they do the next boy preorder? (Since the first one was back in 2005, am I right?)

Man.. I'm in for a long wait.. unless I buy one heavily overpriced in the Marketplace. Boohoo.

    13. Lurk Y!J. They sometimes go cheap there.

      Best of luck!

    14. I would, but I'm really not sure how to use it. XD;

Oh well. I suppose my best chance to get one is to buy one on the Marketplace then. -sighs-

      Anyway, thanks for your replies!

    15. oh thanks for the reply d.ark, thats really good to know!

    16. Before the 2nd order, when they should have been overpriced since the demand was high and the stock was low.. I got my unoa boy for little over 470 :) if you are deligent you can find great deals in the marketplace. (but as for me I need to stay away from there my family is growing too fast..)

    17. CHISA.TO, damn, you sure were lucky! ;-;

    18. I've heard that in the past, new Unoa kits had really bad seams and mold marks that had to be removed. Does anyone know if the new Lusis/Sist kits come a little more finished now?

    19. There will still be very noticeable seams and gate pieces (small to large pieces of resin that need to be removed in order to assemble the doll) at specific joints as well as on the feet that need to be removed and cut off then sanded down. You will also need to glue the top of the leg joints on before stringing. It really is a it and I really enjoyed putting my girl together. ^_^

    20. Unoa will not be coming more finished as they are purposly unfinished in the spirit of resin figure kits that involve finishing and painting. However annoying It's one of the charm points. Even the assembled dolls he makes for lottery or dollshow still have seems, but the gates are removed.
