1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

U-noa 1.5 Lusis and Sist pre-order info 2011

Jan 22, 2008

    1. Rive, I open my Unoa Lusis from the recent Lottery yesterday, and found 2 things, that may be considered as "defect" by high standards.

      (1) There's "spots" all over my Unoa's default faceplate. Sort of like those spots left by MSC when sprayed unevenly.
      (2) Unoa's default faceplate that came with the kit doesn't sit straight on the headback >< Its crooked, not noticeable in photograph/ normal display, but its definitely there.

Anybody else has the same problem/ other kinda "defects"? What should I do about the "spots"?

On the side= my parcel was detained by immigration and i got taxed! 7%!! :...(

    2. Yes, my Lusis is like that too. It doesn't line up properly, but it works and looks fine in the end. :3

    3. Rive and ILust4Plastic - If you receive a defective Unoa part through Crescent, maybe try contacting Masamichi asap and ask him if you can get a replacement for the defective part? I know Araki usually makes some extras (partly in case of any problems) but later they are sold at lottery - so you would have to contact right away. I have to idea whether replacements for defective parts can actually be gotten via contacting Masamichi but it would be worth a try. I am very surprised because defective Unoa parts are very rare (these are the first I've heard of, not counting faceplate fit).

Re faceplate fit, some faceplates fit better than others. My Sist faceplate fit a bit crookedly in the Unoa headback but perfectly in the Kaye headback. My Lusis faceplate fits perfectly in the Unoa headback. That is common and not a defect - just differences in fit.

    4. My Unoa Sist's eye mech piece was defective and when I inquired about it, Masamichi sent me a new one at no charge. I sent photos of the defect as proof.

As for the face plate not lining up perfectly with the head back, mine doesn't either. It's not a big deal for me since it's covered up by her wig.

    5. iLust4Plastic actually, I have similar (but different) issue with my previous parts order from AL/crescent shop.

I participated in 07 parts order, for B-el head, L-bi head, B-el madoromi head and fist hands.

I didn't open them from the bag for few months until I had proper body. they were stored away, in their default bag and bubble wrap, bag still factory sealed. Few months later when I opened L-bi and B-el default head, L-bi was alright, but B-el was pretty defected.

first, tip of his nose has internal crack. it's not falling off, but it has crack. Between his right side of eye and nose has defect/scar from improper casting. it only became obvious after bit of dusting and blushing.

At that point it'd been too long I couldn't ask for exchange. I'm still kind of upset about this....sigh.

edit: oh yea, B-el madoromi head -now moded and on my signature- was totally fine, btw.

    6. Mishiba, thanks for sharing. I think I will take a pic and email Masamichi right away. I'm sorry to hear about ur B-el head. It may be too late for you to voice out now, but I guess we should at least feedback when we first find out the problems (and maybe explain the delay in feedback). This may prevent future "defects"/ at least more stringent QC? I don't know....but then again, we may have to wait even longer for our dolls ><~

hmmm... but who do we feedback to? Masamichi is only the middle man....

    7. I'm sorry about the defect and that you discovered it so late. I hope it's not too noticable. BTW your modded B-el is what made me order a B-el madoromi face this pre-order. I just love your boy. :aheartbea

As far as defects, I didn't look really closely at my parts but I did notice a small brown spot on my girl's foot. I will have to look closer at it and all the parts for defects. I guess I should photo the foot and sent it to Crescent?

    8. thank you all so much for your advice! I contacted Crescent and they got it all straightened out for me...WHEW!!! :) I really appreciate your sound advice - Thank you!!

    10. The kit comes with acrylic eyes that work with the eye mech and a fur wig

    11. She painted my Lusis, actually, but she rushed it one night while I was visiting her so she claims that it's "not very good". Psshh, she's so modest.

    12. If anyone wants to read what the news notice says about ordering the Unoa boy kits, here's a copy?

    13. I just opened and cut the pieces out of the eyes of my two faceplates and, well.. my excitement was dampened a bit. The winking lusis plate I got for my Lusis won't fit on the head back of my doll. ; ; I tried to be a bit overly forceful, but it's a no go.

Also, the teeth part is quite a bit different (not hollow) than the one my Lusis has and it doesn't stay in the winking faceplate. No biggy, I can use putty to keep it in, but if I can't get the faceplate on my doll then what's the point?

My sist plate fits, though quite crookedly. Hopefully it'll fit on my boy better... but what do I do about the lusis winking plate? Should I email Masamichi? I find it strange that not all plates would be the same...

    14. niku my lusis winking faceplate didn't fit perfectly either but it needed some force and it did snap eventually..
could you examine it next to another faceplate and see what are the differences between them?
maybe it needs sanding or maybe it is missing some "anchor points"?

    15. I did compare the plates and I couldn't see anything different except the little groove at the top was smaller, but that had nothing to do with it since I can't even get the plate under the top snap anyway. I was already as forceful as I felt comfortable in being with it. Won't fit. :( I'll try checking it over again for any tabs or the sort. Thanks both for your suggestions...

    16. Yeah filled in wasn't quite the right word. :sweat My other dolls just had the empty eye wells, so I was surprised that there was this thin resin there that looked like eyes. I didn't know Unoas had that. I almost want to paint it in until I order her some real eyes. Good to hear that it is easy to get out.

    17. Yeah - my Lusis kit came with the thin films of resin in the eyes, and I think my Sist faceplate did not. But they pop out so easily they could come out from being handled before being packaged.

    18. All - remember resin dust is toxic. Use a dust mask and don't scatter the dust around. Some people sand with wet/dry sandpaper or sanding pad and a bucket of water.

    19. The yellow thing is a bit of velcro that they show on the picture being added to the top of the faceplate, it helps hold the default fur wigs in place (the other bit of velcro is already sewn on the wigs).
