Uh oh - Dollzone Pet dolls 16cm

Oct 24, 2007

    1. Moggie's right - we have some leftover at Featherfall. We'll be having them at the March 1st event we're having, but if there's any after that I'll let you guys know. ;)

Here I thought we've pimped them everywhere.. <3

    2. I am batch 4. I am still waiting anxiously. I wish I had some sorta idea of their ETA!

    3. I have not yet found a tiny kimono pattern, short of photocopying the "instruction sheet" from a regular kimono pattern and adjusting the size.

However, this hakama pattern on a Japanese armoring site just exactly fits the Dollzone Pet and probably other tinies as well. Print out two, cut out one and keep the other for full instructions.

    4. Just a heads up for those that wanted them........ Denver Dolls have a limited supply of the pets for sale now.

    5. And for those that asked us at Featherfall - all of ours sold out, except for the last NS bunny with faceup. Thank you for giving them great homes. :)

    6. Whee, I received my order from DollZone Spain last week and this is what I got:

      Her name is Dr.Evil :aheartbea

    7. Has anyone restrung their DZ Bunny yet? I'm looking at swapping the fox boy body with my bunny girl body. I saw the strings had to be swapped to. Just wondering if anyone has done this yet, and any tips about such.

    8. She is adorable! So mischievous looking. Congratulations on your DZ Bunny.

    9. We've done that.

The strings don't have to be swapped but the s hooks in the heads do. The fox has a single s hook with two strings attached and the bunny has 2 s hooks(one on each string) which lead up to hold the ears in.

Get the heads off (patience required in copious amounts) then put the single s hook from the fox on the two strings in the bunny body and thats done. Take to two s hooks from the bunny ears and separate the strings in the fox body and put a single hook on each string then run them up to the ears.

    10. Thanks for the tips Moggie. It's going to be one of many projects to do this week/weekend.

    11. I did the head switching between my boy fox and girl rabbit. Switching over the boy body onto the bunny head wasn't much of a problem. It was a challenge to control two strings at once while I work with one at a time to put the ears on. (Which I put them on the wrong sides the first time...)
The bunny girl body has abit more/extra string to it because of the strings going up to the ears. The string in the head is the same that runs to legs. so once you have the head off, and leave just an s-hook at the neck, you should be able to pull the knot out the leg and tighten the elastic. I ended up letting go of the S-hook and this freed up the elastic and made it easy for me to tighten the string. I then pulled the string back through the neck and set the s-hook again.

This all took me about 45 minutes to do. I also changed out the fox's eyes while I was at it. So now I have a boy bunny and a girl fox. :)

    12. Dang, forgot to mention that extra bit of string. :)

      Congrats on getting it done.

    13. Moggie or VampireAnneke: are the DZ pets strung the same way as normal DZ dolls? Other than the bunny's ears of course? It seems to be the same, except the knot is somewhere in the torso, instead of on the S hook like I've always used in my other dolls. I just wanted to be sure that before I took them apart for coating and blushing.

Also, they seem trickier to restring simply due to them being smaller, and thus having skinnier holes to string through, especially the torso. Have you found this to be the case at all, or no?

    14. giggy your bunny is awesome! love her name. what kind of eyes is she wearing, i really like them.

    15. Yep, strung the same way.

Probably a little easier to restring because they are shorter if anything.

    16. The bunny was tricky to restring because of having to get the string up threw the ear holes. And with tight strings it was a challenge.

    17. Here is my 'male' bunny, in all his glory. His name is Xenophilius.
