1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Undisclosed Modifications... has this happened to you?

    1. My Leroi was stained from the factory. From what I can tell, they didn't seal under his faceup. I always have to put his eyebrows in the exact same spot.

    2. Yikes! All these stories are making me nervous about buying my boy. I wouldn't have even thought to ask about mods/damage before buying. I assumed all sellers would mention it, since mods don't seem to reduce the price at all anyway. There's really no reason to withhold information from a buyer.

    3. My El was described as 'perfect condition'. When he arrived I was very much shocked. He was not only very yellow, but had a sickly green tint -_-
He had freckles added here and there, and a tattoo on his hip. He nipples had also been blushed a very horrid pinky colour. Velcro had also been superglued to his head...
But, I love him to bits, and hope to remove the mods as soon as, hopefully.

    4. I take it he's White skin? There was a batch of CP white skin dolls that came out with a green tint. That at least isn't a mod.

    5. I think the most severe case of undisclosed modding that I know of was with Charity, a poor little DZ Fenyo girl that was heavily modded, covered all over with many layers of airbrushed acrylic (metalic gold, 3 shades of dark peach, purple(!?) and a very stubborn white primer... urgle...)
She also had facial mods built up with a strange, soft clay, to the point where she resembled a Bratz doll. The thread discussing her is here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128671
I think the most shocking part of it is how the original E-bay auction thread for the doll was worded to make it seem that it was an original artist's doll.
At least she's now well loved and restored, and her owner is happy with her.

    6. Yikes, there are really some horror-stories here! O_O

I have a modded girl and love her to pieces (she had her eyes opened somewhat by the original owner, I her am second owner I believe), the changed eyes actually converted me to her facesculpt (which I always was kind of neutral on before because I thought the eyes looked too squinty).

I couldn't ever imagine not telling someone the mods on my doll, or any future mods. That is just a really shifty thing to do, and people will find out about it anyways eventually too!

    7. That is really horrible for someone to do. It definately makes me wary of buying on the second hand market.

    8. I agree all mods should be disclosed,

but wonder, what happens when you see a doll you have sold, you know you opened the eyes, the buyer has closed the eyes to dreaming and then sells without saying its been modded back to dreaming.

The faceup was lovely and he looked fab.. but at the end of day, he had been mod twice.. do you comment in thread ? let potential buyers know?

    9. When I sold my Dark Elf Soo I basically cleaned her from head to bottom and took a good look at everything. And the buyer was more then happy with her. She was already 1 year old and I made a really long sales post on the yellowing, what it looked like in person, the evenness of it. (And the person that bought her was a first time doll owner and totally got scarred by it at first until she realised I was just trying to be as honest as possible about her state. No nucks, no cuts, but yellowed from age)
It wasnt until I was looking at pictures she sent me to show that it had arrived safely that I realised I hadnt told her I had a cat... but the picture that reminded me was the one where the doll was leaning on a cat :XD:

I realised then how easy it can be to forget these little details, that might actually make a differance to other people. (God forbid if she had been alergic, my cat loves my dolls and cuddles with them all the time. I have their boxes for display aswell and my cat likes sitting ontop of them aswell).

So far I havent had any bad experiences. Everything I have either bought second hand or from other users has always been good. But then again I am very picky and mean, I keep asking for pictures and wont buy until I am satisfied. ^^

Although I have to admit, I finally whiped my Freyja's (Dollmore Noir Asha) face up off, she had a original one from Dollmore. It was chipped and needed to go but I just didnt want to you know. Anyways when I finally took it of I cleaned her up and all and then left her there for a while. The next day I was gona paint her and noticed a splotch of what I thought was still some eyeshadow left on her eye and went ahead with a second cleaning. Only to find out it was actually some sort of stain in the resin itself.
So even though its not second hand she still had stained resin... I havent contacted Dollmore about it simply because she is almost 3 years old now, and I have loved her all this time. And with a faceup again you dont see it at all. Besides they only do white skinned dolls as a limited and the Dollmore Noir Asha has been sold out for over a year now.

    10. Eeeek. That makes me worry about my own boy... I think we got them at the same time.. :doh

My boy also has some gouges along some of his seam lines when I got him, probably from a bad mold. But frankly, I was so relieved to get him at all that I didn't make the big stink about it that most people would with companies. (Not that they would've done anything about it) I've sanded them out as well as I could but.. Ugh.
If I ever sell him, the page is going to be looooooong. :sweat
