Unoa hybrids? Other bodies that work with Unoa face plates (part 2)

Aug 17, 2011

    1. CynicalSim - Sorry, missed your reply. They offer an optional "big milk part", with a large chest. I have never had this one myself, but I suspect it changes how clothes fit. In my experience the normal bust was easy to fit in clothes, but her hips were bigger than a minifee, which meant that clothes made for slim minis didn't fit (or were very tightly stretched). Trousers wouldn't button up, skirts rode up to her chest and I generally struggled to find anything that looked good (especially when she sat).

    2. This body is very nice! and as I see the knees have double joints so I'm really thinking of it. does your Lusis fp have any yellowing? because I just wonder if pale normal skin would be a bit light for my faceplate..

    3. Here's a Unoa Lusis on a Soom Rosette Muse body (normal resin). I am using an Amaeta headback. What do you think? I just made a wig for her. I'll have to take more pics, but I love this combo.

    4. That soom rosette body looks great!

Has anyone tried a spiritdoll hybrid? I just saw their bodies but can't find any good photos. Thanks in advance :3

    5. Hi all, was hoping someone could help me. I am looking for an affordable alternative to Unoa-body for the fresh skin faceplates, but there must be an option for high heels! Much as I love the Ariadoll high heeled legs, it would seem the company has since closed? Also I was worried the fresh skin might not match :(

Alternatively, if I could just find alternative high heeled feet that would work with Unoa Sist/Lusis bodies that would be great!

      Thanks in advance!

    6. Ooooh! Thank you so much sychiang! I checked and the little monica site sells high heeled feet separately :O

Would anyone know if the feet alone work with the Unoa Sist/Lusis body? Again, thank you so much! Looks like it's time to shop again hehehe

This is my Aithne, and she's the often-done Minifee hybrid, with a Sist faceplate set and a Buff Headback. I modified her neck a little to fit her headback better and stop it snapping around instead of posing smoothly.

The one thing I did do, that I haven't seen much of, is that her faceplates have been dyed to match the FL resin. Did anyone else try that or have you been able to find Unoa faceplates that match FL resin?

    8. Rosslyn, did you use the chibi/unoa Buff headback and what dye and colour did you end up using? I was planning to use a few unoa faceplates on a NS Moe body and the resin difference would result in a lot of blushing layers. Your hybrid looks great!

    9. Answered in a PM but might as well post some of the answer here: Yep, she's got a BUff headback I added magnets to, so the fp would stay put. I dyed her faceplate to match the FL resin by using a blend of quite a bit of Rit Petal Pink and a drop or two of Rit Tangerine. I can't say if that would work for anyone else, though. Resin color can be so touchy.

The other day I noticed her color match isn't as good anymore- resin does age, sadly, so I wiped her face, which makes a lot of the dye come off, and I tried to redye it to match the body, but this time around it wasn't working out. Now I've blushed her face to be more pink, and her body to be more yellow, so it all matches once again. Someday her body will be more golden and less pinky, and they'll probably end up matching much better. I think the best bet for a match is to blush things to match, but if you go the dye route, that works too at least for a while.

I have put my usual process for dyeing resin over on my blog, and the link to that is in my signature. V down there.

Here's a bit of Aithne again for this thread. Show your dollies off, folks! Don't let this thread be ded!
(Please mention the body and fp used each time you show your hybrids, for reference.)

Aithne is a Fairyland Minifee A-line body with the small bust, in NS, with Unoa Sist faceplates dyed and blushed to match and a modded neck.

    11. Hello all! I have been sifting through both Unoa hybrid threads, and noticed that there was one post about hybridizing Unoas with the Supiadoll Minisup body. Unfortunately it looks like the picture has since been removed from the post. Would anyone have reference photos for a Unoa head (preferably a Lusis/Sist) on a Minisup body?

Edit: In addition, are there any approximately 30cm bodies that the Unoa Lusis/Sist/Elder heads would fit on well? So far if my memory serves correctly, I've seen on this thread that a DollPamm body is an acceptable fit, but I haven't been able to find more hybrid photos of Unoas on 30cm bodies.

    12. Does anyone know if the Fresh Skin of Unoa would match Luts RSN? I know this is about bodies, but I'm thinking of getting the Gun Hands from Luts so my Unoa boy can have them, since he's a young detective.

    13. Anybody have a Unoa and a Doll Chateau K-07 or K-11 body? Thanks!

    14. I have an Unoa and the bust/neck/arms of the DC K-07 body. I also have a Buffdolls head back. I'll keep an eye out here and in the DC hybrids thread. If no one has the whole body to try for you by this weekend, I'll cobble together my parts and at least give you a partial idea of the hybrid.

    15. It only took a month, but I finally dug out my partial K-07 body and an Unoa head. So sorry! I forgot about it until I saw another hybrid request that I have the parts for.

The arms are strung , but the whole thing is just stuck on a skewer in the lid of a coffee can, so I can't say much about posability, but the proportions look like they could work.

    16. I recently received the body I decided to use to hybrid my Unoa faceplates! It's an old NDoll Miso body in normal skin french resin. Here area few pictures showing the proportions:

When I initially saw the body I thought that it was too big for the faceplate. But the proportions are starting to grow on me! They're definitely a lot more mature than the Unoa body's. However I do think the neck might be a little too thick. Not sure if it's because the head back is a temporary one so it's not sitting on it correctly, or the neck could actually use a bit of sanding down. Or, I'm possibly considering whether the proportions would match for me to get a small-chested Unoa bust and hybrid that onto the rest of the NDoll body.

And, of course you can see that the resin mismatch is pretty significant! The body is quite old, and french resin yellows so quickly and severely. It doesn't bother me too much at the moment, though. :)

    17. What a beautiful body. I love it. =) I think it fits very well (on proportions) for an Unoa. ^^

    18. Thank you Moonycat! ^^

I haven't had the most time to think about my new hybrid these days... but I do have a quick newbie question. What do you all use to sturdily place the head on the necks of your hybrids? Currently my head is just sitting on top of the neck with no reinforcement. The S-hook doesn't latch on to the head plate (mostly because I need to get an actual head back, think... :sweat) Would getting Buff/Amaeta head back solve the problem or is there a kip I need to get as well?

    19. Some lovely hybrids keep coming to this thread! Let's not let it die out!

Sparkii, My hybrid is on a Minifee body from Fairyland, and the faceplate is using a Buff headback, and then I altered her Minifee neck a little so her headback is held on with an S-hook like a regular doll. I also modded my FP and headback a bit by adding magnets so the face doesn't pop off so easily.

Here's Aithne's most recent look. (she's a Unoa Sist dyed and blushed to match an NS A-line Minifee Fairyland body)
