Unoa hybrids? Other bodies that work with Unoa face plates (part 2)

I have two Unoa Hybrids myself.

An L-Bi/Resinsoul
The Resinsoul body is single-jointed, and much pinker than the head, which is more yellow. Blushing usually helps level the two out though.

And an B-El/Doll Leaves (Female to Male Mod)
This is actually a much nicer match than the Resinsoul body, though its slightly shorter. I don't really mind, but from some angles it might seem a little bobble-headed.

A lot also depends on which headback you use. The Buff headback is much bigger than the Amaeta (?) headback, and so it can make the head+wig appear either larger or smaller.

Sorry if this questions was asked before, but how many different colors of Unoa resin are there and which color matches MiniFee normal skin the best?

 

Sorry no idea here. Their resin seems to vary from release to release, too, so one fairy skin won't look like another fairy skin. I had to dye or blush my faceplates to match their body.

 

I keep hearing Fairy Skin, but I don't know what that means. Does that mean white skin, or does it mean french resin? The ones I've seen on Ebay just say normal skin, so I assume there is a normal skin too. By the way, does anyone know if the Ebay seller is Unoa themselves, or at least a legit dealer?

 

Some fairy skins look white, some look off white and I'm not sure what it's meant to be, light NS or white. I've never seen any two unoa dolls the same color but I haven't seen many.
I'd avoid any seller on eBay, since most of those will probably be stolen recasts.

 

I'm going to drop off my hybrid here, even though this is for faceplates and mine the opposite of the rest - a MNF head on a Unoa body.



I had it totally jury-rigged on there (ha ha Juri), but tonight it's attached by a neck part. Works great - though I don't see many people trying this. Resin match is HORRIBLE lol but the body is old normal (and don't even ask me about the arms lol) so it's not going to match much. The proportions however, I love to death.

Someday I may be back with a FP on another body as I have a random headback now

 

I have been trying to find this but only saw 1 pic online.

Does anyone have a fairy skin girl with Mnf white skin? I would love to find a body that would match one if possible.

Alchemic Labo released 3 colors for the Unoa series (5 if you count mocha for the 2nd, and cocoa for chibi); The normal skin color (which they are weaning people off of), Fresh skin (what AL is replacing the normal skin color with), and Fairy, which is super white and translucent at the same time.

I just happen to have all 3 of the skin colors together (and ofc the aged Unoa) for a picture comparison. If you are on the Unoa Discussion thread you probably have seen this too. This is a picture of the hands of the dolls taken in daylight:



Working clockwise: Regular skin release from 2006 (12 o'clock), 2011 Fairy Skin release (3 o'clock), * Brand new regular skin hands on the center bottom* (6 o'clock), and Fresh skin 2012 release (9 o'clock).

Normal skin and Fresh skin DOES NOT match at all. Here are all 3 girls together (also daylight.) As you can see the Fresh Skin is more translucent and brighter and the normal skin is more opaque and well... more creamy yellow.

With that said: Did anyone here have a hybrid of fairy skin and another body? I looked and looked and could not find any. The 2 bodies I am interested in using as a hybrid is Aquarius Doll and Fairyland. If anyone has info for that that would be lovely.

 

I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time figuring out which is which in your post. For the hands, did you start with the most yellow hand? So that's the regular skin from 2006? And the white hand is called fairy skin?

Could you list your lovely girl's resins from left to right please? Thank you! I have a Unoa on layaway that should be regular skin but I'm loving the fairy skin and what I think is the new regular skin. Does it match Doll Chateau pink?

 

Pony: I am sorry if I am confusing. Yes the very top of the picture is the 2096 regular skin at 12 o'clock and the new normal skin at 6 o'clock. The hand on the right is the fairy skin and the left hand is Fresh skin.

From the dolly comparison left to right: Fresh skin 2012, normal skin 2006, and the right is the fairy skin 2011.

I saw a Doll Chateau pink in person with my fairy skin girl. Fairy skin is pretty white compared to Doll Chateau pink. I suppose with blushing it could work.

 

Gamekitty, thanks so much! This really helps alot! So why are there 2 very different shades of normal skin if they are trying to replace the normal skin with Fresh skin? Does Unoa resin really yellow that drastically? Also, do you know which color will match Fairyland normal skin the best?

I guess when I was taking that picture I was more interested in seeing what the different skin tones are out there. The new normal skin is the "default" until the fresh skin appeared. The normal does gradually mellow out to be yellow like the one on top, but my Sist has been my sewing buddy for 8 years now, so she is probably more yellow than other Unoas out there that aren't played with a lot. I have seen much yellower Unoas though.

AL is still selling Sist and Lusis face plates for the normal skin but I don't know how much longer would they be doing that, maybe until stock runs out? Lately they have been selling some B grade kits in Fairy Skin but if you try to buy an Unoa now through a preorder they generally come in Fresh Skin, if you can find a way to order through AL's main website.

I guess I am on the same boat as which one Fairyland matches the most :X Around where I live I am the only one who collects Unoas and I have a lot of people who own Volks and Iplehouse, so I really have nothing to compare it to for Fairyland other than when Fairyland used to be Luts, so... I am no help in that department. Sorry!

 

Thanks! I noticed that the Fresh Skin one is blushed. Would you say that Fresh Skin and the new normal skin are very close to the same color if it wasn't blushed? Or would there still be a noticeable difference?

 

There will still be a huge color difference because of the translucency of the resin.

Hi! I have an hybrid with Aquariusdoll. They work great together, but they're both NS, so I'm afraid I can't be of any help about fairy skin. But if you need some specific picture or info about proprtions and so on just ask!

 

Yes christinopia I think that is where I got the idea from! I really like how the body is like an Unoa lite except bigger and it is very similar to the Unoa Zero body. I especially love the hands with separate fingers, which Aquarius doll will let you order 3 additional pairs of hands. I can have 4 pairs of hands to try bending the fingers with them. I am definitely looking forward to that part!

 

Gamekitty, that's cool! I dind't know about the addtional hands. Aquarius body is really one of the most graceful body I've ever seen, and its posability is great! Love, love it!

Is there a post that that compares the Unoa Lite to the Unoa Zero to the 1.5 bodies? I'm not educated about the differences.

I bought my Unia second hand but I'd like to get my next one new from AL. Could you recommend the best way to do that? Should I hire a shopping service?

Let's state the obvious: Unoa lite resin is 25cm while Unoa zero is 64cm. The Unoa lite resin and Unoa Zero have longer knee joints so they can kneel while Unoa 1.5 can't do that. That is why I love them because they can kneel. The Unoa lites have the same torso as the 1.5 (have the little back piece) while Unoa Zero's top is completely different and the joint so to speak is below her boobs. The head attachment for Unoa Zero is different. It is held together by the elastics, like the Chibi Unoa and the Elder.



Here is a picture of the Unoa Zero on the left, Unoa lite sekiguchi in the middle, and the Unoa lite resin to the right. The Unoa lite sekiguchi (ya off topic but here to prove a point) has the same type of body as Unoa Zero and Unoa Elder. The Unoa lite resin is closer to a more refined Unoa 1.5.

Other than that, their arm and ankle joints are the same. I don't think you can use an Unoa Zero body though to hybridize with a regular unoa because ya... obvious head size difference and what not.

As for buying a Fairy skin girl straight up... they are limited releases. AL dose sell fairy skin parts on their wesbite, but unless you are buying parts and find a body later the secondhand market is where you can find it. If you want a brand new faceplates I recommend a shopping service that is not the usual sources (Noppin, Rinkya, etc...) because they have agreements to not shop at AL for International peeps. Noppin is supposed to handle everything from AL but so far they didn't do squat.

I guess that is where my quest for a hybrid comes from. I mean I like the body to bits, but I just sold the Fresh skin girl and the Fairy skin girl (I call them being in temporary vacation until I can buy them back) and I would like to find a more delicate body for them. I doubt I can find anything for a Fresh Skin replacement any time soon. The resin is just too different than what I saw from my friends collections and they have quite a collection. Not to worry though. Fresh skin is the new normal skin for AL so if you stalk AL often and he does a preorder in Japan when you buy a new girl it should be in that color.
