Unoa hybrids? Other bodies that work with Unoa face plates (part 2)

Hi, bperry042, your girl looks so pretty! I like how well the resin matches. It looks to me like the neck is a just little bit big for her head, though. I was wondering if sanding down the neck would work better? If you do decide to use this body, that is. ^_^~

 

Thanks! The resin matches ok. The photos make it look closer than it actually is. And, i agree....the neck is waaay to big for her head. That's why I was thinking of getting a different body. I'm to chicken to sand down the neck. I may be able to sand the neck hole in the headback to make it bigger though. I'm just not sure.

 

bperry- It seems to me more like you would have to sand the neck down because it looks too long for the head, it also looks a little thick but I think the length looks worse. I doubt you want to go modding the body since it is is a more expensive piece so I would suggest you may want to look for a different body to trade/buy. (if it bothers you that much, that is)

ETA: I doubt sanding the head cap would help much for the neck, either. Especially with how long the neck is already.

I had a request for a Unoa head on a Limhwa Limho Mono body and made a comparison here in case anyone is interested in that hybrid.

 

I got my L-Bi a Resinsoul body and I love him on it. It is the older resin so I can't vouch for resin matches but I really like how my boy looks on it

Has anyone tried the Island Doll body?

 

I've been looking through this thread but couldn't see anything about Unoa fairy skin and Fairyland BW, does anyone know if they match or at least are close?

 

Does anyone know if the dollzone B45 008 body works with Unoa?

Amy~ i don't have a Unoa doll yet but that body is really nice (i have a DZ Melin with that body), so i really hope it's a match!

 

Ooh, what do you think of it? Does it pose well? I hope it's a match too! Do dollzone have only one kind of resin? This one looks a lot lighter than other dollzone bodies I've seen... I really know nothing about this company >_<

I have one of my girls on a Lati blue body which is decent in color and great for proportion and my other girl on a resinsoul body, which is meh for color (doesn't bother me but it's noticeable) and great if you want a slimmer body. One of my girls is getting a face up but I'll take some pictures of my Sist FP on the blue body and my two RS bodies so you guys can take a look!

 

okay so... to be straightforward about the resin, they have 2 different kinds (possibly 3?), i know for sure they have yellow and pink. but i ordered her in pink and was shocked at how pale she was... i had to compare her side by side to one of my paleskin/yellow dolls to notice that she WAS tinted pink and tbh i had a lot of issues with her face, but that is going offtopic and belongs in another thread...

i only have one pic of her on my flickr right now because i am procrastinating about fixing her face-up (it's like 80-90% done, just needs "finishes" and some cleaning up), but i can take some reference pics of her body for you next to my MNF if you like? ~^^ i would say that her body is rather posable, not quite as posable as MNF but close to it.

and yeah, i would like to know if U-noa heads work on her too... if i get a U-noa i may end up buying the head only and in that case i could just test on her body before considering another body-- but i don't know if i will actually get one before the year ends (depends on finances + being able to find a deal i like)

Lati Blue Body



Resinsoul Doublejointed immature body NS



Resinsoul single jointed body NS, this one looks like the head is too big for the body, but that's mostly my awkward posing, this body needs to be restrung and won't stand on it's own.

The double jointed body is a little taller and can come with bigger breasts (as a matter a fact I don't think you can buy the immature body separately, you have to purchase the whole doll but the whole doll is cheaper than most bodies) The RS is too light and too pink, but it's really not as bad once she's dressed. I do much prefer the look of the Lati body myself though. Of course they don't sell it anymore so you'd have to look second hand and it took me forever to find one!

I hope this helps anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to minifee bodies!

 

^ i'll take the above pic as a yes to my query about naked dolls. i quite like the Lati Blue body, but how posable is it?

and here is an iphone snap for Teddies and Teacups comparing my DZ Melin to MNF Shushu (A-line body iirc). it was taken directly under yellow lighting... i can upload some higher quality pics showing the posability of Melin's body when i have the opportunity later (it's night right now and i prefer to take those pics during the day)

I might opt for Bella for now and wait to see if anyone else makes this hybrid, but I definitely think there is potential! Hugs Amy xx

Here is Blanche, my Unoa lusis/ aria doll hybrid. The resin match is lovely, I'm not too keen on the pose ability, but this body is voluptuous yet very cute at the same time (you cannot see it here, but she has knock-knees >_< )

.... And here is my Sist/ Shinydoll hybrid. This body is a little pricey, but it is definitely worth it if you're looking for a slender body. It poses better than all of my dolls in my opinion(even better than my minifee!) and holds its poses really well:

leitan - You can't really bend her thighs when she's sitting down. so her legs don't come up to her chest and her back doesn't bend well either, but she's solid and I can pose her on one leg and not worry about her toppling over

 

@ Amy - if i were you i'd go with getting the DZ body (assuming it works) and making a hybrid girl, but then you already own two U-noas to my none (incidentally, a girl at my IRL doll meet has a DC Bella, Bella is a very pretty doll in person but extremely thin and tall, you'd have to custom sew most of her clothing like for Rosettes. she also has the "Rosette shoe problem" according to her owner... that said, i have had a DC Olivia on order for the longest time so i am going to be in it together)

your girls are gorgeous by the way, it's my dream now to get a Lusis and/or a Sist but due to current financial priorities i don't know if that's even possible for me til next year now since i just had some very unexpected expenses occur literally this morning which completely changed my planned budget for the next few months (last week i was looking at U-noa face and headplates on the MP-- and suddenly this week i am probably going to have to sell something rather than be a buyer.../OT)

if the head/faceplate works nicely with the DZ body and resin matches or can be blushed to do so, i think it would be wonderful. would you like to see any more pictures of my Melin doll posing in any way? i'm happy to fulfil a request.

@ lareinerouge - thank you for the feedback, Lati sounds like a great alternative choice to DZ, and unlike DZ we know it works!

anyway, i continute to lurk this thread since unless things get turned around, although i might not have a girl for a while i need to figure out what kind of hybrid she's going to be... the DZ and Lati bodies are "comparatively" cheap to making an MNF girl so that it's possible if i can deal with my unexpected expense that woke me up this morning, then i'll have one by Xmas. of course, some things are much more important than dolls, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed!

 

Thank you Leitan, your pic was rally helpful. I know Unoa resin is often lighter so it *should* work. I decided to order a body for my minifee juri 11 in the end as I have a list I need to work through lol and I am still undecided on this hybrid... I'm hoping someone else will they the DZ body and tell me what they think >_< I am a huge fan of Dc Bella though and am used to sewing for different sizes so I'm sure I'd love her... So many dollies so little time! I'm sorry to hear about your financial situation at present, I hope it all works itself out. I don't have lots of money to spend on dollies, just what I make from selling the accessories and dolly clothes that I sell, but I've built a lovely little family over the past few years and I enjoy having things to save for. I hope you can make your Unoa happen someday. I'm so pleased you like mine, they are both hybrids and so gorgeous xx
